      @@BeepingMad it's similar on land in that you learn to read the land, the only difference really is the finds stay put unlike the beach where finds get moved around. With Inland searching research of sites is also a great help like old maps ect to find old roads or missing buildings of the past. I like detecting old footpaths as it's a guarantee of finds due to years of use. Harder digging tho! 👍

Take care and stay safe mate. Tom.

    • @BeepingMad
      @BeepingMad  Год назад +1

      Hi Tom the equinox is the better out of the two.if you are detecting wet sands and pebbles you must try to get a good ground balance. The rocks are full of minerals that can cause interference. Next you could have your sensitivity too high try about 22ish use 5 tones only and on the pebbles try park 1 and so on. Put a very little threshold noise in the background so you can hear the faint whispers and this will help you find thin gold chains, it will also help tell the difference between bottle tops and pound coins. You can even use park one on the wet sand. One more thing drag your spade behind you so you can see where you have been and it also keeps the spade out of the way from the coil. Get decent headphones, I use waterproof ones on land, they are really loud. Hope this helps...

    Im new to the detecting world and I'm trying to determine which machine to purchase. I live near the ocean but I also live on an old plantation in the states. Which machine do you recommend that can handle all of that without breaking the bank

    Hi Jeff or Geoff (sorry don’t know which?), loved seeing my home town beach on your video! I really want to try detectoring as a new hobby but have no idea where to start? Is it worth buying a cheap detector to give it a go - those £50ish ones get so many mixed reviews... or best to try and borrow a better one?

    • @BeepingMad
      @BeepingMad  4 года назад

      Hy Dylan on don't buy a cheep Detector. A goof Detector to start up will be a garrett ace 400 or the x5 watch the reviews by addicted to bleeps. Littlehampton beach would be a great place to start. It has parking, cafes, and reason for people to have money on them.

    Hi, Firstly thank you for the videos.
    I have a youtube channel where i review food however after some recent health problems im not able to eat as much, so im looking to give the channel some new and different content. and ive been thinking of starting out in metal dectecting for a long time, so looking to add this journey into my list of new content.
    What would you recommend as a good starter detector, id be mostly doing this on beaches like yourself.
    Many Thanks.

      Hi I would recommend the minelab equinox 600 because it does it all. Wet sand and pebbles. If your budget is tight I would recommend the Garrett ace 400. The ace 400 in my opinion is the best coin shooting detector on the pebbles. It will work on the wet sand but in limited form. If you can the equinox 600. I had a simplex once and found it to be not any good for coin shooting. My beaches are dig by numbers because if the amount of pull rings and bottle tops. You have to be able to I'd a target before you dig, even more so as we are turning into a cashless society. Hope this helps.

      That will definitely help keeping the ID numbers more stable. The ace machines are great. You should find some good stuff with it. I have given my ace 400 to a friend. I use my wife's evrey now and again. In fact I might go out this weekend with it. Thank you for watching.
