  • HIMARS - it’s the high-tech superweapon giving Kyiv hope in the war, as Ukrainian forces launch counter-attacks into Russian-held southern parts of Ukraine.
    (Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)
Military analysts are calling the long-range missile system, provided by the US, a “game-changer”.
So, how do these weapons work?
And can just 16 of them really give Ukraine an advantage over the might of Russia’s artillery?

Since Ukraine began using the HIMARS, they've taken back around 13k km². That is a LOT in around 5 to 6 weeks. The spread for this weapon's 3 meters at 50 miles. Pretty effing sharp.

HIMARS forces Russia‘s supply lines to be further back, making it more difficult to bring supplies and men closer to the front. It’s less what HIMARS can hit, than the area it threatens.

      @joelwillems4081 Год назад

It doesn't just force their supplies further back, it can cut the supply lines and more importantly, any potential reinforcements. The U.S. waited for the best time to send HIMARS. Russia does not have smart weapons left that could take them out. And with the sanctions, no way to build more.

HIMARS basic rockets have a range of around 28 miles, and hit within 5 ft. of their targeted location. Add the fact the HIMARS missile can deliver from 500 antitank to 1000 antipersonnel munitions with each rocket, multiply that by 16 rockets that can converge on a single target and you understand why it's a game changer.

World War III Has Begun; How It Unfolds Depends on Us
We think of the Russia-Ukraine war as a local conflict, but it is much more than that; it is a global war on multiple fronts. The war is not only a military conflict; it is also an economic war of attrition. With skyrocketing gas prices and shortage of staples, people all over the world are feeling the consequences of the war
This war is transforming the entire modus operandi of humanity. Since the dawn of time, we have been accustomed to living by the motto, “survival of the fittest.” By and large, the rule was that the strong determined the rules, and the rules were often abusive toward the weak. Now, it seems like a new mindset has set in: Wanting something and being strong enough to take it does not mean that the world will accept it.
The war, therefore, is being fought on the inside no less, and perhaps more than on the outside. Our very makeup is changing from abusive to cooperative, from narcissistic to altruistic.
It hurts, and it will not happen without a struggle, but it is irreversible. This is the path of our evolution toward the purpose of our creation-to encompass within us all of creation. To do that, we must come to care for it, just as a mother encompasses her child through her maternal love.
The struggle to transition from our current uncaring and mean approach to all creations but ourselves, into wise and compassionate beings is called “the war of Gog and Magog” or Armageddon.
Since the war is about our inner makeup, we can fight it within us. If we object to struggling with ourselves over who will rule-the ego or love-the physical reality will force us to choose love nonetheless. However, it will do so by hurting us in a very physical way.
The war in Eastern Europe is nothing compared to what we might have to endure if we resist the process. The horrific descriptions of our sages and prophets hint at it, and we would not want to live through it.
Alternatively, we can fight this war within us without firing a single bullet. The choice is in our hands. All we need is to continue in the same direction that nature is already leading us: toward connection. If we make an effort to care for one another, even though initially we don’t, then we are moving in the right direction. If we try to resolve conflicts not with guns or even legal battles, but by strengthening the care and friendship between us, then we are saving lives and sparing torments from countless people.
In conclusion, let us try to rise above the hatred and see the human on the other side, who suffers too. Let us think that this war was given to us so we would think about each other more than we have so far. After all, were it not for this war, we would not notice one another. Now that it is here, we are no longer indifferent. Although our feelings our currently negative, now that we are aware of them, we can work on them together and turn them around. These are the wars of the Messiah who moshech [Hebrew: pulls] us out of the ego, and into mutual love.

That the US weapon manufacturers benefit tremendously from this and other conflicts, and therefore lobby the government to adopt policies more likely to result in conflicts from developing is obvious to anyone who isn’t a child, but this doesn’t of course put the blame squarely on the U.S. government for the war in Ukraine. Yes, many politicians and foreign policy officials who are influenced by the weapons industry and oil interests promote policies more likely to provoke a war which would benefit those industries. However, had Russia not responded and pulled the trigger to whatever they used for their justification there would still be no war. Each country that ultimately responds with war is ultimately responsible and to blame for that war. " Russia has gained more territory": exactly how many square kilometres have Russia advanced in the last 3 months (and what is that as a percentage of Ukraine?)? Why has the Special military operation entered its seventh month? Why is Ukraine Air Force still operational? @@shuathe2nd - Simple, what has russia gained? Any military strategist since Tsu Tsu, will tell you that the best position to set your lines is at the border of a major River. Has the Russians reached Dnipro River? Mainly in the deep South where it at all matters since its the mouth of the river. Will Russians push all the way until reach the Dnipro River in the north section? No, why? There is absolutely no point to it. But why?, the Northern section of Ukraine has no way to export anything thru the river anymore. In the near future after a peace agreement has been reached Ukraines Northern section will have to pay Russian taxes or fees to pass thru. Winning 1-0. If you believe Territory is an important issue in today economical world, then you are mistaken my friend. You actually believe Russia is at expanding territory mode? LOL, that is absurd. Russia is massive and in zero needs to gain any more territory for we are not at the age of expansion. The era of expansion died with Germany in WW2. I don't know if you read history, but for Russia casualties is just that, casualties. Do you lose a war by having casualties?, again WW2, read it. But lets says casualties are what draws the line of who is winning, according to CIA, Russia had lost 15k soldiers in the first two weeks of the war, debunked by German intel, were is state that Russia had probably lost up to 2k in the first two months of operation. So, we will not know the exact number until the end of the war and maybe even way after it. But again casualties are not a way to say "oh im winning because more are dying on their side", does not work that way. Why is Ukraine still operational?, In the first two weeks of the invasion, Russia encircled Kiev. The Russian army had waited a week and a half when they were given the order to retrieve. Why? Nobody knows. My mild idea is that the fall of Kiev would had represented the fall of all Ukraine. There was a video, in that week of Zelensky that was staged outside the presidential home, he was in fact in Poland during that time. I mean look at it this way, if Kiev felt and Ukraine with it, Russia will have to pay the bills to maintain the country operational - this is not my wild idea btw this is exactly what Biden said in a speech. It was too highly costly to do so, the order never came instead they cut off the Ukrainian ports. Up to that point, as you can check your facts, Nato was not involved, neither USA. So Russia had other plans.

@@vrrc7686 The Ruzzians want the Donbass because of the natural reserves of gas and the fertile soil, so of course territory is important and to say otherwise is pretty dumb. As for casualties, in WW2 Ruzzia had a younger, growing population and a vicious dictator at the helm who cared not for the life of his countrymen so it didn't matter so much if they lost 10 million or 20 million as they would be replaced, but now you have an older, aging and shrinking population, so while still ruled by a vicious dictator at the helm who cares not for the life of his countrymen, it will have a greater impact on the Ruzzian economy to loose 70,000 young men (this is killed, wounded, MIA, captured). As for your pathetic assertion that Kyiv was about to fall, and so Ruzzia withdraw to prevent a victory as they would then own Ukraine, not sure what you are on, but I am pretty sure Vlad would have taken a victory over Ukraine to install a Beloruzzian style puppet government.. It failed because their army was useless and let itself get blown to bits by javelins and other RPGs, and the Ukrainians don't like the idea of being ruled by a foreign dictator.

Something important to know, for all who are interested in history and/or support Ukraine:
Rus’ ought not to be confused with “Russia”, which derives its name from the Rus’ but historically is a completely different state, which almost all its existence was at war with the Rus’.
Just like the Holy Roman Empire was actually Germany, Russia is actually Muscovy, despite their best attempts to convince everybody otherwise.
Its name “Russia" received only in 1721, when Peter I passed a decree to change Tsardom of Muscovy’s name into the “Russian” Empire (“Russia” originates from Rosia, name used by the Greek Orthodox Clergy in regards to Kyivan Rus')
Under the reign of Cathrine II Muscovites where even punished for continuing to identify as Muscovites, and were forced to call themselves “Russian”.
Lands that “Russia” claims were part of the original Rus’, but actually weren't, are Novgorod, Suzdal, and Ryazan, since in historical texts of XI-XII centuries they are mentioned as separate entities from Rus’. They can be considered parts of extended Rus’, although their culture was distinct from main Rus’.
In 1493 Moscow prince Ivan III appointed himself to be the Great Ruler of All Rus’. No other kings acknowledged that. From that point on Muscovy started to make false claims on Rus’ ownership.
“Russia” is an offshoot of Ukraine and not the other way round, despite what Soviet and “Russian” historians have been trying to say for years. Kiev was a developed cultured capital when Moscow was just another swamp village.
Germany used to call itself the Holy Roman Empire, that didn’t mean they became the Romans, and all of a sudden had a right to claim whole of Italy and its history, but yet, that’s exactly what “Russia” did in regards to Rus’-Ukraine, which is a horrible injustice!

Russia can't keep it up, they've blown through their year's defence budget in the first 3 months of fighting and since then blown through 25% of their reserve budget.
Out of that 50% was also seized when Russia started the war so they've got 25% of the their reserve cash left and at the rate they are spending won't be able to fight much longer.
They've used up or had destroyed their more modern weapons so are now mainly using cold war surplus to make up the numbers.
They've had their trade badly cut off and now not only have money running low they have to pay over the odds to get the martials needed to make more weapons as the only countries still trading with Russia will only do it under the table at greater cost.
The Ukraine weapons might be fewer in number but they are more advanced, more reliable and more accurate.
Plus Ukraine is being resupplied where Russia isn't, so once the stockpiles are gone they are gone and each loss of manpower or equipment is something Russia can't replace.
Then there is two of Russia's neighbours joining NATO which has given Putin nightmares and the fact once the war is over Ukraine will be fast tracked membership to stop this happening again.
Even if this ends today Russia will still be sanctioned cutting them off from the rest of world making them a third world country again.
Russia will still have to pay retribution to Ukraine, probably have the bulk of their military dismantled and limits on how much they can have to stop this happening again.
NATO will be on Russia's doorstep and keeping a close eye on them.
The Russian economy will probably never fully recover.

It is quite another to massively sell to one side and even gift to the one side exclusively. Frankly, I would consider every weapons factory that gives weapons to Ukraine to be a legitimate military target without triggering defense alliances should Russia decide to destroy them as those factories are effectively acting just as much as mercenaries as the Wagner Group or other well known 'defense contractors'.
