Used it today @ Southwyck Lanes in Toledo, OH. Wooden lane house and the THS always Sahara Desert-like @ the nine board to the channel on both sides. Put five games of practice on it yesterday, kept the box finish. 701 series, never left a corner pin, only one open through three games.
Been enjoying my Spy so far... My league shot and house shot house are disgustingly bad and dry... I have mine at 2000 at the moment, going to try 500 later... I have similar rol to Jason, but like most humans, not close to his Ball Speed... So I get a decent shape out of it and it's enjoyable sometimes to just throw it at the 5 board and give it the business... Can't do that with Reactive in my bowling center
I got mine from my dad that I just had to have the thumb redone for me and it works wonders. It is pin above bridge and mass biass next to thumb currently sanded to 500 abralon
I can’t imagine bowling in a house where the spy would actually be a viable option. Maybe in one of the few wood houses left out there. I never thought I’d see you leave a 5-7 either, but here we are lol. Thanks Jason #BETHELOGO
I bowl in a house where they cater to the senior leagues so the lanes are DRY. I have 1000 on the surface and run straight up 5 and carry a 235 with it. If I throw anything reactive I have to go across 30 boards and back :) A lot of hand in the ball and decent speed. The spy is amazing on mid/dry lanes with the right surface.
I'm considering this ball as an 8.5 mph wheelchair bowler. I'm considered "rev dominant." Would be 14 lb., many are suggesting adding some surface at that. Thoughts? Really wish I could see a video anywhere near my ball speed.
I want one , we have a wood house here in Aurora COLORADO, called AMF Aurora lanes. This place blows. With that’s being said. On fresh oil the lanes are dry. And after 15 min practice they are almost 🦴 dry. This ball will fit perfect there! Thanks for the review.
Maybe that 500 was too much surface. It almost looked like the ball checked up, then went straight and then went into the hook phase. I had a lot of good scores with my clear wolf (although it wasn't really all that clear) back in the day

Hi Im Alex from germany and im in bowling for 42 years. I had a original AMF ANGEL PLUS, the ball is 30 years old but was brand New drilled. I know that Balls like the Purple Hammer are stronger. But what do you mean, how is THE SPY in combarsion to this old ball? Alex
Jason, is this ball more powerful and worth the premium over any regular spare ball like Brunswick's Crown Jewel? I was bowling on completely dry lanes yesterday and got 168 with the typical Brunswick house ball. I'm in question what spare ball to buy, Radical The Spy or Hammer Purple Urethane.
The Spy and Purple are two different balls. I for sure wouldn't use urethane personally. To answer the Spy is an aggressive house ball, not by much though.

Once I saw on the video you put surface on the ball I stopped watching the review is useless. Why can't somebody make a video with the radical spy bowling on some beat up or dry Lanes without changing out of box surface.
But there IS footage of it at box finish in this review. There's literally a chapter noting it. You would need to be bowling on 28ft for it not to go 60'. The surface was so it wouldn't be a video of me hitting 100% 3 pin for 8 minutes.
