Williams comments before this Congressional hearing is absolutely the finest presentation I have seen on this entire mess.
He was caught lying many times in recorded phone calls on the news. I live here on the border he crossed and for him to say he did not know he was crossing the border. there are several signs starting from miles away stating Mexico in so many miles and guns and ammunition illegal in Mexico. You have to stop before you cross the border and he could have parked his car there and got out and walked 20 feet to the usa authorities. Also this has happened many times under different administrations and after they get released which they often do after months and when the proceeding are finished. Bush took just as long to get our guys out doing the same thing. Military in california are let known not to go to mexico and all the problems you can get into includng guns. Most of the guys after getting released admit they were going to sell their guns in mexico where they are worth 3 to 5 times more than in the USA because guns are illegal in Mexico. He was doing the same guaranteed. I worked at the border as border shore patrol for years while I was serving and we saw this happen all the time. I have looked over the paperwork in the Mexican court and I have friends there and I have seen him while he was still in tijuana. He lied about getting beatenand he lied about many things. Its disgusting and he forgot one of the main things we learn in service to our country. Honor and Integrity. Marines are trained to navigate through deserts and jungles and this guy wants you to believe he missed all the signs and the huge lighted up welcome to mexico banner stretching over the entire half of the freeway? And allthe other signs and the stoplights in the middle of the dfreeway where the border ends didnt give him a clue. One other lie for you. He did not pull over and declare his guns. His own statements in the court recorded have him admitting he pulled over after the red light came on and he was signaled to go over to secondary then it was at the time when they were searching his vehicle and were getting to the place where the guns were "hidden" that he told them. Being in the military does not give you carte blanch to break the law. If he was innocent I woulkd be calling every friend i knopw to help him but when he decided to bring those guns over where they will be used to kill children i draw the line.
Idiotic that we will trade five terrorists for a deserter but our leaders stand back and do nothing for a person who honorably performed their duties.
This led me to tears.
After he inflicted Sylvia Browne on the nation I no longer listen to anything Mr Williams has to say.

I don't trust Montel. Why is he doing all of this? I think he wants more ratings and publicity.
He was dead serious. He don't give a damn about ratings at this point.
