Amazon with the rotary attachment for like 1700$ Black Friday deal. Excited for it. Hoping to color engrave! Coming from a diode engraver

I ordered it, I found your small review very helpfull, and it convinced me. I Tried to use your code, but ended up using the Black Friday one since it didn't work. It worked on the US site, but when I changed it to Europe/Euros it didn't want to take it. Maybe you should adress that. Thanks, keep up your videos

Jeremy will this be making your makers mark on your knives going forward?
I would make name plates for tool labeling around the shop. Also you could make plaques to sell like your holiday stands.

Man, I wish this deal was in effect when I bought my XTOOL laser this year. The smaller one is around the same price right now as what I paid for my XTOOL IR/Blue Dot laser!!

Can I use this for doing jimping or checkering on the spine of a finished knife ?

Will the heat mess with the temper in finished blades? Particularly when looking at changing colors of knives.

Do you think it is worth the money for the recreational knife maker? Or outsourcing to a local company would be more cost effective? Also just finished my first cad knife drawing and I'm going to outsource the blank cutting to a water jet/laser cutter. Hoping to save time grinding blanks.

How durable would the color engraving be (i.e. how long would it last) and would it affect the temper of the knife to where it makes the edge retention useless?

Great Video Jeremy! I was looking to get a deep etch Laser Engraver at some point.
I would love to send you a Cerakoted sample piece of hardened knife steel and see what it does to it. Way too curious now. Haha

Hey Buddy! Sorry for not noticing this comment earlier. By all means if you want to send me a sample piece of Cerakoted hardened steel I'd be happy to do some tests for you. I could make a video of it too! Cheers👍

If my sole intention is makers marks on knives, would you recommend this (or even the 20W version) or the 2W infrared/10W blue diode option?

are there any safety features included? like a housing or so? Because if you have any reflections with a 30W laser it doesn't matter how fare your eyes are away from it.

This is a little different than knife making. I work in an aerospace machine shop. We need to upgrade CO2 laser to fiber. The laser we have now has a +/- of about .125in. this allows us to mark on slightly curved surfaces without a "4th axis" to rotate the part. What is the focus range on that laser. Also, if you have a near pure piece of nickel it would be cool to see a test on.

Hey. You seem like a bright guy. What does it mark like on painted wood and what type of paint would be most effective. IE - Flat vs Gloss. Oil vs Acrylic. Color of paint - White to Black. Blues to Red etc. Please shine some light on this. Soorry having to much pun typing this. I grew up with CO2 cutting at Cincinnati Incorporated.

Now it has arrived and I find the leaning Curve pretty steep. It shouldn't be a Problem for Someone who buildt his own small CNC and a Voron 2.4, who also has more Resin and other 3D Printers :) Buuut i seem to have trouble finding the right burn Settings - What are your settings for burning wood and Stainless? with 80% Power and 100mm/s speed i just manage to burn wood a bit with 10 passes? Seems less powerfull than I would have expectet.

Update: I have now gotten better settings. I had a Material I could not Burn. With Aluminium I now have some good burns. Wood can be etched, interesting is that it powders the wood and doesnt' really burn it, if you have the right settings. Not to learn how to make stuf in Lightburn. A good video would be about how you made your coin.

i would like to know how good the support is by this company. Genuinely asking, and wondering? Other companies with comparable products are like $600 dollars more. Any feedback is welcomed. About to hit the buy button, but trying to figure what to buy when it comes to the fiber lasers.

Sorry for the late comment. I am really happy with this machine. I’ve been using it a lot and have put hours and hours on the thing and it’s working flawlessly. I think it is a solid machine. I hope that helps. Cheers 👍

It does take a while but I recently did a deep engrave on a stainless steel ring (average man sized ring) and the patern was about 1/2". It took 10 minutes to get it a little over 1/16" deep. Cheers!

Question: What is the life expectancy of a fiber laser; is there one? To clarify, CO2 lasers need the tube replaced every X number of hours. Do these fiber lasers have an estimated service life?
