I don't know what is under those bolt holes on the compact versions, but I imagine dropping something small down one may cause a problem if you don't get it out.
Hi Josh, I'm in deciding between this compact version and the previous one, mainly debating between the hardware changes that shed off about 2k of the price between the previous design and this one. I'm wondering if you've seen any difference in capability or performance on this compact unit vs the previous model? Thanks in advance 👋
Hey there… no I haven’t seen any difference. I actually prefer the compact over the regular size. It’s my favorite fiber machine right now. I use it daily.
@@ciarahogan7095 I have 7 OMTECH machines and love them. Haven’t had any issues. If you decide to purchase… you can use Laserguys5off to save 5% off your total purchase.
They are so expensive thinking about the limited range of appliance. If you do not have large batch orders for engraving constantly you are done. Engraving custom gifts and things like that is not gonna make you any profit.
Quick question, Im looking into getting the Galvo 20W for doing laser stippling for polymer and some pser engraving for steel. Do you think that would be the right choice?@@wrightswoodworks
They are nice toys for business but too expensive for hobby. I told my son that if he can do laser engraving business then I can give him 10k to start, but he doesn't know how to get started. I like the xTool F1 Ultra, but 4k for hobby is too much.

They are sealed. Nothing goes into the Electonic compartment. I thought that at first too... but nope... good to go
Can you explain the differences in the MOPA & Galvo?
Galvo or MOPA?
Mopa all the way! A lot more capabilities. Comes at a slightly higher price, but worth it if within the budget!
Great video! I'm looking to get a compact MOPA. Suggestion: set the volume of your intro to the same as the video.
Thank you for the feedback. I’ll check it out. Must have missed that!
Deference between gave and mopa?

Does this one project the bounding box of where is it going to engrave?
Could it be possible to drill and thread the table? What is the material?
Table is already treaded…
@@wrightswoodworks Awesome, thanks!
Thank you! Does it have red framing for preview on the piece?
Yes it does!
The reviews for OMTech are quite varied. I'm nervous to buy one. Should I?

Just chiming in to say I’m currently shopping for a 2nd omtech. I love mine and haven’t had any issues with it.
Have you tried using a rotary with a cup?
No I haven’t. I don’t think they will fit correctly.
Is the compact an auto or manual focus?
Gavo difference vs mopa

I do custom work on them all the time… and there is plenty of profit. It’s not for everyone… but works really well for me

OMTECH customer service is basically non existent and this is why I will not buy their machines.
With 15" of z-axis on the compact, how tall can the engraving subject be?
