Very helpful and detailed video, thanks for making one.
This was the most helpful video I have seen. Thanks for taking the time to make it.
Thank you so much for the kind words. Although these are very easy machines to learn, they can be very confusing when first buying one, so glad these are helping folks out!
WOW !!! How do you only have 14.3K subscribers... Dude your energy, edits, and clarity on the subject matter is on Point !!!! I am in the market for an 80W omtech and found your video.. WOW ! Great Video Thank you for this... and I'm sorry to tell you this --- But, Your stuck with me Now *** I SUBSCRIBED *** Looking forward to catching up on all your Videos ......
I love this video... part 3 and 4 and 5, etc, etc please... great step by step explanation. Cant wait for part 3
Appreciate the kinds words, we are working on new content coming soon this year and some courses!
@@RISENGRINDWORKSHOPman part 3 would be awesome for me rn
This was super helpful! Thanks
Thank you. Just got mine.
Thanks for your help brother. We just got one at work and we haven't even taken it out of the crate yet. Soon, very soon...
Thanks so much! A start up checklist would be helpful! Your timing is perfect mine (MF 2028 60w) just arrived today! Cheers!
Enjoy. Will be a blast!
This man is a Lion, not a sheep. Thank you for the video.
Thanks for the great info
Thanks for posting!!
You Bet! More videos coming soon!
Definitely would like more videos. Part 3 please
We are working on some new content for the new year along with some courses on how to grow a laser business!
I'm waiting on my delivery today, hope that I have no issues. Didn't buy direct through OMTech since conversion + freight was considerably more than third party in my country. Hopefully run into no issues. Watching these now while waiting.
Most only need some simple adjustments if needed. Best of luck!
Audio is right channel only. Just a heads up. Great vid
Part 3 through 100 would be helpful :) I really like your style. I need all the help I can get. Started with an XTool, and the MF2028 is so different. Lightburn and the laser are intimidating.
Finally, party 2🙌. Hopefully, part doesn't take 10 months.
Feel free to donate and send me some money so I have more Free time to make videos for everyone for FREE! :)
Thanks so much for the videos!! I have watched all three parts and have found them very helpful - I am wondering if you just installed the inline fan and left the fan alone in the laser or if you disconnected that fan due to the inline fan - thanks for all your time and valuable information!! Looking forward to more content!
You will need to remove the stock fan when upgrading to an inline fan. The old fan will actually cause performance issues. Lots of documented videos on YT or else I would make one. Just remove the 2 wires, cap then off and take the old fan out. Some rewire back into the old fan connections and others will just plug the inline fan into an outlet and manually turn it on when using the machine vs wiring up the new one. Either option works fine. Personal choice.
Excellent video!! What model is yours? Thanks Mike
Any guesstimates as to when you will be publishing part three? This is amazingly helpful! Thank you for doing it!!!
Ask any questions you have :) always working on content. Within the next 30 days hopefully.
Where can you get good quality acrylic to use for the 80w
Thank you for your videos. We have recently received our machine and used your videos for set up, which were very helpful. We we literally followed you step-by-step, pausing in between steps to make sure we were doing everything correctly but we can’t get that first cut for some reason. We are having trouble firing up the machine.
Do you have any tips on what we could be doing wrong or how to do a test cut?
Any help would be greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much for doing these videos.
Go to the OMT website and find downloads. Download the test card. Import it into lightburn. The power and speed settings are already programmed. You just need to run the CUT/START - the test card will give you your speeds and feeds. Make sure all Keys are ON and the E-STOP is not engaged. Very hard to diagnose with limited info.
Which unit is in your video? Thanks
how do i lower my laser bed to clean my leanse
I currently have a blue diode laser that I mostly use on stuff like yeti cups and lumber, the big trouble with using the blue diode laser is a matter of engraving anything highly reflective or see through, ie aluminum sheeting and glass, because that diode works by focused light energy that either just bounces off/thru those materials. Anyways, the true question that strikes my mind is a matter of the software. It's definitely gonna be a while until I invest on something like a co2 laser, but I'm questioning if this laser is compatible with the same software I use on the diode, ie xtool laserbox basic. With the laser engraving being more of a side thing for me, I don't wanna waste my money on those softwares like lightburn, especially if I'm not gonna make a business out of it. Again I just question if this will work with laserbox basic?
This laser comes with a FREE version of EZCAD and most users buy Lightburn. Lightburn is compatible with most lasers and diode lasers
How do you get your third lens calibrated? I have ran my test on the other two and they are centered but the laser does not even make contact with my third lens? Any help would be great.
Search lens alignment in RUclips and there are plenty of detailed videos that will help you. Thanks for the comment!
Hello! Would you know if Omtech has a trade-in/buy back program? For people who wants to buy a smaller OMtech machine but eventually want to upgrade?
Not that I am aware of. Most people keep their first laser when they upgrade and have each machine setup for a certain task, or sell second hand on the used marketplace!
I can’t find part 1 video, can anyone point me in the right direction. Thank you
Mine came in today no tube in it at all help tube on front in box
Have you posted the Part 3 video? I am not seeing it?
It's up!
do you have a video setting up a first project
Part 3 shows my wife and I make a simple project. We are working on courses and new content. Coming soon. Thanks for your support!
How thick of acrylic can you cut? debating between 60w and 80 w purchase.
Stock 80w can typically do up to 10mm Stock. However I would order the lens and tube kit from OMTech or American Photonics. 80w will cut slightly faster than the 60 not much. OMTech site has a chart under learning center that covers the materials list each laser can cut. 80w tube life is 3X as long as the 60 so long term the 80w is a better bet 👍🏼
@@RISENGRINDWORKSHOP Where is a good place to buy cast acrylic?
Is is better to use distilled water in chiller or deionized? If distilled, should some kind of algae reducer or chlorine be added
Distilled water is the recommendation. I’ve never used any additional additives.
@@RISENGRINDWORKSHOP Great.. Thank you I ordered some today..
how well do these things run in a garage? I live in MI where is gets cold and hot and don't think i'd be able to get one of these into my basement. is there anything i should do to make sure they run well in a garage?
Simply get a chiller and fill it with some Anti-Freeze or you can drop a fish aquarium heater inside to keep it warm during the winters. Even better the new OMtech CW5200 has a heater built in. Works great in a garage. No Issues.
thanks for the advise. i have a glowforge and looking to upgrade and never had something like this in a garage so want to make sure i don't break it.@@RISENGRINDWORKSHOP
can you or anyone else recommend another chiller for 100w co2 as Omtech don’t have any and don’t know when back in stock i’ve Uk based
I typed laser chiller into eBay and picked one up for not a lot. Although my laser is only 60w.
The 5200 unit is a generic unit, you can find on OMT and Amazon along with Ebay
How do i ground this bad boy? E.g. In a flat?
Grounding rod, they actually send out wire for grounding if needed.
Am I missing something? Where is part 3?
Please start back making videos
i heard the delivery drivers wont unload it for you off the truck
Delivery drives don't work for OMTech nor are they a part of the business. Shipping is Third party and OMT has nothing to do with those companies policies. I have 3 machines and all 3 were delivered into my garage with no issues.
Does an Omtech laser need earth grounding?
Well, some say yes and others say no. Not an electrician so don't take my advice, however my machine is not grounded to the earth with a rod, just the machine and my surge protector!
Have you ever engraved a pistol slide?
You need a fiber laser and check state laws pertaining to FFL laws
I’ve been waiting on my machine since December 5th, 2023 and it’s January 31st, 2024. No machine. From OMTech
Most machines sold during December were pre-order. Call customer service.
@@RISENGRINDWORKSHOP I’ve called them 10 times each time 2 weeks out
Mine was ordered 12/27 and was a pre-sale order. You likely won't hear a thing from them beyond an order confirmation until the date the laser ships, unless you contact them (or possibly if it's late - I've read stories of the estimated date being pushed back but that was not my experience) I had a question about something besides the machine and they were very responsive when I reached out. Next contact was a shipping confirmation, then the freight company contacted me, and the machine arrived yesterday (2/8).
Just to be honest and unbiased. Theres no thurd party in ebay. Its the same company . The e ay is the chinese sidenoperation while omtech is the California side of the same Chinese company
I stopped using cloud dependent products and sw.
Adobe, Autocad,...
They can shut you down.
Yeah, not a Cloud based fan at all, and am very close to ditching Adobe all together. Using Resolve and Capcut
Why is your commentary audio only coming out of the right channel? Pretty terrible for headphone users.
