We got the Xtool P2 and love it. They have a really good external filter that I highly recommend. We Create has a filter that looks identical. You may want to look into picking one up. Another YT channel, Road Agent Leather, covers it in his newest 2 videos.

I use a CO2 laser to cut lots of leather items. I use magnets along the edges of the leather to hold it down flat in the machine. Thanks for the great video!

That is a good idea thank you! I’ll have to give that a try. You’re welcome and thanks for watching! Cheers 👍

Knifemaker here! I cut with a CO2 laser, recently purchased a sewing machine (I see one in your future too lol) but back then, I also cut the holes with the laser, they line up great and you can also make the thread grooves on the sides of the sheath too.

Oh I never thought about the thread groves! That makes sense. Thanks so much! And yeah, I am casually looking around for a decent sewing machine. Cheers👍

I absolutely love watching your videos, I always learn something. As someone who does a lot of leather work and laser work I will tell you if you case the leather ( soak it in water) it won’t smell as bad. I do have the luxury of having a smoke eater for mine but you can still smell some but not as bad

I have had the privilege of teaching knife making in a high school and we make all our sheaths with a co2 laser. Kids can create some unique designs.

Great video! I have the WeCreat 20w laser and it is AMAZING! I do all a diode laser can do with it but my favorite things to do now are working with leather. I vent my laser outside so I don't get burnt leather smell while cutting leather. Problem is, when I take the leather to clean and finish it, the burnt smell is awful, especially on items that are near your nose like pint glass sleeves and earrings. I am experimenting with an Ozone generator and that seems to get rid of the burnt smell. Do you, or your subscribers, have another, hopefully better, way of getting rid of the burnt leather smell? Thank you!

Hey great vid! I'm looking at getting a laser and knowing you tried a couple, which one would you recommend for an all around for knife makers? i.e. knife engraving, leather cutting and leather engraving? Thanks in advance! :)

Regarding the curling of the leather. What if the bed of the laser had holes with vacuum pulling it down?

3d Print you a carbon filter box, and then add an inline blower to pull air out of the cabinet. Makes a world of difference.

Set your shop vac outside on the end of a longer hose and turn it on. That way it’s drawing the smell outside.
