all this talk lately about matte vs glossy, i knew this 10-15 years ago. I had an Overlord glossy 27" monitor and it was amazing but every other screen was matte and looked like total crap . Glad to see people waking up
Genuine props to you for being ahead of the curve. It shocks me how humans can do things wrong for so so long until they finally decide to copy the small group of ppl doing it right. For example, how did it take so damn long for basketball players to realize they could simply dunk the ball instead of risking missing a layup? Why was it not until this past season that the NFL realized you could do the "tush push" for guaranteed one yard QB sneaks?
So I totally just did it. 1 single wipe, zip lock bagged between each coating. Works as intended - went from matte to a kind of semi gloss. It doesn't look as glossy as my C3 but as glossy as the old LG 32" 1080p monitors. Some slight streaking - a bit less than on this video. Imperceivable during gameplay. I'm gonna try it again with a couple of the wipes opened a bit and a squeegee to do the whole monitor in 1 pass.
@@user-dv2mi4ps3y I'd say it's halfway gone. The effect I managed is about halfway to glossy, the "grainyness" is almost completely gone and the colors punch through better.
