Still have mine. Had it for 16 years and never selling it. Better than the 993 I had..better handling and more fun without having to look at the fuel gauge.
Fun fact, my dad imported the first ever right hand drive Audi TT to the uk in the late 90s he drove it from Germany to England, he sold Germans cars in the late 90s early 2000s in England, he sold Mercs, Porsche’s, golfs ‘mk4s’, BMW’s along with Audi’s such as the tt and s3 and s4.
I have the roadster too and on the left side there is a space between the Capote and the window. So the rain can cames inside..do you know hot to set the Capote so to have a better close? Thank you!
They are ALL projects. I had one. Bought for a grand. Spent 2k on it to get it back to being nice and 300bhp. Sold it for £1.5k. But had fun doing it up
@@BWTV did it all myself over the course of a year and like you. Got to a point, didn't wanna spend anymore monies and got bored. I did a little clip of the Quattro working on my RUclips. I'd had it six months BEFORE I noticed it didn't work lol
@@BWTV my dad has a 180 and standard they were ok but it wasnt anything to say yes this is quick but now it being stage 2 it is a seriously quick car when it was just a flash tune it made 224 which is practically the 225 model and now it's making around 255
Wouldn't get the convertible..too small. I had the mark 1 2006 1.8 Audi tt coupe..plus points: styling inside and out. Very little rust. Theres very little modern cars that look as good. When everything is working, the driving, the quattro system means going around corners is a whizz. Negative points: engine mount bolts break, very expensive to fix. Windows have problems. Dash pixels can go, although mine were fine. Switches and electrics can go wrong, sensors go wrong regularly, central locking, bulbs in mine went regularly, all in all make sure timing belt and water pump is replaced early. The worst to last ( don't know if this is 2006 model only but to change the headlight bulb on front nearside...you have to take off front of car, yes I'm not kidding the whole front. Because of the many inaccessible nuts n bolts..it took 2 and half hours. That's your stupid German engineering for you, what were Audi thinking of? That alone put me of ever owning one again. To sum up, a lovely looking car, good performance but way to many faults and problems arise that can cost you most of the cars value. The cliche of a hairdresses car is a joke, well not the coupe, maybe the convertible, but if your going to say that you could say the golf is an old grannies car, etc. Who in their right mind would take anything someone like Clarkson would say as correct though? A pure snob with bias towards old outdated stereotypical responses like..American cars can't go around corners..owwwww I cringe when he use to say that. Funny one of the best cornering cars 40 years ago was a C4 Corvette and they've been beating porsches, bmw, aston, jaguar's, ferraris on the track in IMSA racing since then. I remember them beating porsche 29 races to 0. So much so they had to construct a Corvette only race in the Corvette Challenge. Anyway the Audi is a great looking car but old mark 1's have way too many problems.
I agree..great looking, good but not brilliant performance..but the worst car I've owned for problems..German engineering isn't what its cracked up to be. Did you know on my old 2006 TT to change the front near side bulb you had to take the whole front of the car off? 2 and half hours later.......
hey just a heads up so that you dont promote gambling/lottery to kids you should specify that the competition is for over 16's. you'll probably be fine this time, but just a heads up, it would suck if some people got annoyed about that. sick vid as usual, keep it up
Cheers mate appreciate the advice, I've checked a setting on RUclips so realistically it should filter my video so it doesn't show to under 16s 👌 Thanks man

A very understated car! 👌
I’ve had mine for 13 yrs and feel the same way!
If you thought the tt was heavy, I’ve gone and grabbed an a4 convertible lovely car but very heavy
I have a mk1 tt quattro, 190000+ miles on it, the only issue I've had so far is the dogbone mount center bolt broke off when I hit a pothole.
Got a Mk1 myself and love it, currently in the process of becoming a track car.
My dad has one aswell they are really good for the money
I loved that TT you bought. Of course, I’m not the one who had to do all the work.
It was a good project looking back! 👍

They're good fun to work on but can definitely be a pain

Thanks again mate!
Future classic. Keep it 10 years and it'll go MONEY.
I had 1.8 T black i didnt keep it long think it was a 180 bhp found it abit gutless yours mint though
Yeah that 180bhp must be quite sluggish for these cars 👍

@@Marks-Garage big up mate. Share the love for the cars. Mad respect to you ❤️
Do you declare all your mods to your insurance provider?
Yea I'm with a specialist insurance group 👍
BWTV whats the name of this supposed insurance group
My sister has one awesome car. But they cost the earth in service and part compared for what there worth.

Nice video are your parents car enthusiasts like you?
My dad likes his cars but I wouldn't say quite as much as me 😀
