I just can’t work from the back freehand. I can’t see what I’m doing through the printed tin cans! I have to use a stencil or print my design onto a paper sized to the can size & lay it over the printed cans.
Hi Allison, Thanks for watching and commenting. I don't have a lot of experience working with alcohol ink but some folks get really beautiful results. 🙂
When you drip the alcohol inks on and rub them ~ spray them with alcohol ink blending solution ~ it will help to spread ink and blend the colours better!
Hi I am sorry but I can't give you a good answer. I have mine on display so it doesn't get much wear and tear. Having said that I believe the embossing would hold up well but I don't know about the alcohol ink. Thanks for watching. I hope that helps.

I use stencils to add designs to my flat tin pieces. Then doodle in to cover all.
Super delightful!! Gonna try this technique!👍🎨
Have fun!
So ingenious!! Love recycling, especially if it can be adapted to creative otherwise pricier items !!
Thanks for watching Sharon.

That's a good idea. Thanks for sharing. I agree it can be hard to see the design on the printed side. Thanks for watching 😊
Love the reuse of the aluminum cans. Very neat project!
Thanks for watching and commenting 🙂
Beautiful
Thanks Barb 🙂
Wow!!! Your covers are gorgeous!!! TFS!
Thanks so much Kathy. Hope you are well.
Love it and the design you made, would love to see you make that design in a stamp and stencil
Hi thanks for watching and for the idea. 😊
You might try making embossers using sticks of wood with different shaped ends.
Hi Stanley - thanks for watching and sharing your ideas.
I loved the silver embossing, but not the alcohol inks. Each to her own.

@@UpcycleDesignLab thanks so much! 🙌🏼
Have you tried placing the sheet in A4 embossing folder and passing through a A4 big shot plus machine!
I haven't tried that. I don't have a big shot machine but it is on my wishlist.
For alcohol ink:You should just use permanent markers. They're filled with alcohol ink.
Hi Adrienne - I have used old markers to make alcohol ink. ruclips.net/video/Z9HO2ehoIuA/видео.html
Thanks for watching.
The thing with using markers ( even Sharpie permanent) is that the colors do fade over time. Maybe if ya sprayed varnish over the markers?
How sturdy is this? I'm pretty rough on my sketchbooks, and I'm worried I would ruin it quickly

@@UpcycleDesignLab okay, got ya! Thanks so much for the great video and fast reply!
@@consumepant0 of course thanks again for watching.
Perhaps they can be varnished to increase durability.
How do you get the can sheets to stay flat?
