An exchange semester in Russia - what should you know in advance? This video contains an interview with Anne from The Netherlands who came to Russia for the first time to study political science at HSE (High School of Economics) in Saint-Petersburg.
The main goal is to show the faculty & ask how it goes here & how it felt when she came to Russia. We will cover the four main topics:
- administrative issues before coming to Russia
- arrival to Russia: expectations VS reality
- culture shock
- recommendations for a newcomer

What a small world sometimes. My girlfriend is from Russia, Челябинск. She is currently working in Питер and has just started learning Dutch.
I am from The Netherlands, very near to Leiden (used to live in Leiden most of my life) and working at Leiden University. Learning Russian.
Although this video is from 2019, good luck with your study and enjoy your life experiences! May be there will be a follow-up?
