These videos have been both informative and entertaining, and I look forward to the second season.
M16A4 - recoil grip - holographic with magnify scope - semi automatic - flash suppressor And that's my loadout, simple, yet hella effective for both mid and far engagements.
I know it's a different game, but I remember thinking the exact same thing in Arma 2 all those years ago. I used the default loadouts in warfare games for a while, then started experimenting with all sorts of guns. Bigger calibers, smaller calibers, more modular weapons, and just about everything and anything else. After a while I realised, the M16A4 is a fucking good weapon, it just works. Its accurate and it kills targets when you hit them. Ammo is everywhere, and it's controllable at any regular combat range. Such a good bread and butter weapon - as you said, it just works
I don't know if it's because of the great velocity but, at times, it feels like a 7,62 at range in terms of power, but without the recoil. Besides, That velocity allows you to hit shots so much more easily. I really like this gun and how you can customize it heavily thanks to how cheap it is. It really is a gem. However, I think the AUG kind of outclasses it now since it basically has the same stats, but with full auto and a 42 rounds extended mags, which can turn it into a pretty good support "machinegun".
I find I’m using the M4 with all the attachments single fire but I can’t have much perks like body Armor etc, so I’m using the m16 with level 3 ammo and level 3 body armor and I’m playing so well with a kitted out m16
This was probably the most commonly used gun in Insurgency 2014, riflemen used it with AP rounds, breachers used it with suppressors and marksmen could put a 7x optic on it. Seemed to have worked well for anyone who was a better shot than me
@@stuglife5514 It was M16s vs AKMs like how it's M4 vs AKs in CS lol, I used M16 as a more lightweight alternative to L1A1, they cost the same if you put AP rounds on both

It wasn't long before I transitioned to the G3 or FAL but after watching this it has confirmed my memory of what aq good gun this is.
I served with the m4 a know it well. I also know im used to long range shooting long rifles and picking my shots before the army. The fixed stock longer barrel and better balistics make me prefer the 16. And i never even touch the burst. If i have to mag dump/auto on a guy or multiple semi works better anyway
a sneak advantage of using the insurgent M16A2 is that due to having STANAGs on vest, you can grab kitted out security rifles for a quick field upgrade, really useful for demolitions where you can dump points into bombs

2xOKP, flash hider, recoil grip/bipod. For when I know I’m going to have to cover a lane, and cap points. Yeah, it’s a 10 point rifle, but I don’t usually carry a secondary, and I can still carry 2 smokes, and light carrier.
I found that M16 is an awesome support gun which is comparable to MGs in that case with bipod and 4x sights. It is even better in some ways, cause it costs less and doesn't have tracers you can't remove
you haven't talked about its biggest strength: this gun has the best ballistics EVER. its a shooter's dream in the game, bullet hits like hitscan with 0 drop and 0 kick
The M16A2 is basically the same as M16A4 it just doesn't come with the rails so the scope is mounted higher and the attachments attached to installed rails so I'd personally say go for it he'd probably agree
In real life the only members of a squad that really use full auto in combat today is the machine gunner. Constantly firing automatic with a rifle is unwieldy and inaccurate in real combat and isn't very healthy for gas operated rifles like the M4 and M16. We weren't even allowed to use full auto when I was in basic training
yeah, it's actually a pretty good gun. Compare to M4A1, without the cost problem, M4A1 is better anyway but M4A1 is freaking expensive. M16 still has it's own place.
I'm a fairly new player and I both love and hate this gun. I hate it cause the burst mode hasn't worked well for me. When all the classes are filled up though I just bring in the heavy carrier rifleman loadout with a smoke launcher. So the folks who keep crying for smokes would shut up and I can still bring other grenades. Cool video.
50 rounds with 5.56 may be a lot of bullets but the actual 'gunner' class weapons with 50 capacity shoot way harder, i.e. the MG3 and M240 using 7.62x51 NATO AP. If you're running anything short of that with only 50 rounds you're failing as a gunner, especially with the M4 dumping bullets like it does. I would contend the M16 would make a better mock mg, as it conserves ammo and is overall far more efficient with better range.
Love ya videos, and i know it's a bit nit picky but it's just a rifle not a battle rifle. Battle rifles are usually chambered in .208 and up I believe.
the m16a4 was never available to the US in full auto that's not to say there weren't full auto versions they made 2 the burst fire one we imagine when we mention the name but there's is an entire different serial number lot of full auto variants that were meant for exports to allies so since you play as an American troop in one of the sides it makes complete sense for the m16a4 to be burst fire
