I think it’s because he might’ve imprinted on you. Once they imprint, it’s impossible to undo it so you have to raise them until they die. Once they imprint, they know you as THEIR source of Safety, Food, Drink, Sleep, Entertainment, and Love.

Pam lives an enriched life. The outdoors cannot offer all the fun things he can put in his nest, or the safety or food security his family so generously bestows. I am pretty sure he loves his family and his life. He is one lucky pigeon and he repays them with laughter and love.

Pigeons bond hard with their mate. He is probably telling you to get on the nest and lay some eggs. If you let him outside he will probably find a mate of his own species and bring them home then pretty soon you will have many pigeons. Ask me how I know!
