Billy Gilman is the one singing. He was only 11 years old when he originally recorded this song. It has the most powerful message of what school kids endure on a daily basis. Parents, it is so important to not only be there, but please be present when they talk and, above all, practice active listening.
I truly appreciate how Billy Gilman and Home Free let the video speak. The message was much more important than getting their faces on screen. They used their names and platforms to spread these words. People all over the world are having important conversations because of this video. The more we speak of mental health, the less of a stigma is attached to it. It should not be any different than taking meds for high blood pressure, getting treatment for cancer, or getting a cast put on a broken leg. If you are struggling, please reach out, you need not struggle alone! To everyone else, BE KIND! You never know when a smile, a random compliment, or just asking someone "how are you?" might be that One Voice that keeps them going and leads them to seek help! ❤
You did the original 2 years ago, in case you forgot Billy Gillman is the original singer, he was 12 when he sang it For those who want his reaction to the original ruclips.net/video/YiV-ATBercI/видео.html
@@dandukes4510 huh? Billy the reactor, reacted to the original on this channel 2yrs ago, or did you miss the part where he asked if he's done the song before, I even added the link to the original reaction video and apperently you only skim read because I also put that Billy the Artist was 12 when he originally sang this song
When Billy first came out with this song 20 yrs ago, it broke my heart. But this song, along with this video....It's chilled me to the bone. Thank you, Billy!
You should watch Billy’s journey on The Voice. It’s so amazing that he’s kept developing his ability ever since he was a lil bebe when this song came out
Beautiful song, beautifully done. Love that Home Free guys are not only funny and entertaining but using their platform to bring up socially relevant issues.
You reacted to the original of this song before. Billy Gilman done this same song when he was 11 years old. Now this was redone to bring awareness to mental illness. I love this version just as much as the original version. Gives me goosebumps.
Being a person who has gone through this and am still struggling this song always spoke to me. In 2018 I tried to commit suicide 3 times and I just went through it again. This song just hits home for me. God bless Billy Gilman. Thank you.
You originally did the reaction to Billy doing this song about a year ago. You kept stating he was 6 but he was 12 and not only did he sing this song but he wrote it as well!!! His voice is even better than it was back then and it was awesome!!
Wonderful reaction. Suicide is not the answer. The pandemic has been so hard on all of us but especially on our kids. Pray for our kids, parents, friends and our nation. You’re right Billy, Jesus is the answer. It’s a beautiful song. Billy does have a beautiful voice and Home Free backing him up was great. Have a great weekend!
Good song that goes with your "God is Dope" tee-shirt. I am so thankful this video didn't take the turn we all imagined it was going to. Thanks for this reaction.
The first time I heard this song sung by Mr Gilman. He looked 9 or 10 years old. About 10 or 15 years ago. I was in my late 40s at the time. I only connected it with gun violence. This newer version opened my eyes to the real meaning that was washed a little to account. For the possible audience that might be watching it. Pre-teens and teens. Because he was so Young then. Thank you for showing it. You found another meaning that I did not see because the original video was set up a little different. Maybe they made this to serve another need we have. Here was awesome then and is now. Thank you.
20 years ago when Billy first sang it, it was powerful, beautiful, and very needed! This version, all these years later, is just as (if not more) beautiful, powerful, and needed.
yes you reacted to the original a year ago. Billy's original video was filmed shortly after the Columbine school shooting, so that video reflects that situation.P.s. the original came out 20 years ago.
Billy released this song when he was 11 years old. It was number one on the country charts. He debuted it on theGrand Ole Opry. He also was a contestant on the Voice TV show and came in 2nd place. Season 16.
I’ve loved this song since I was 10 years old. It’s such a beautiful message, and Austin’s vocals alongside Billy’s just hit you right in the heart. Plus, they did an amazing job of modernizing the message of the song by simply changing the video’s plot, the song works either way.
I remember you did the original Billy Gilman video for One Voice when Billy was 11 or 12 in 2000. This is the updated version with Home Free. Its 21 years old now. It first came out back when Columbine happened. This song means a lot to me. I was diagnosed with PTSD, anxiety and MDD and a suicide survivor when I was 15. Yes you reacted to the original version. I am now 48 and still fighting every day. Plus I'm a mom now :(
Yes Billy Gilman wa the original singer.,. Austin said that his mom told him that he said he wanted to be like Billy Gilman when he grew up and was so excited to see him collab with him
I believe you did review the original song of Billy Gilman who sang it when he was 12, amazing collaboration years later this is, also a side note, the bridge at the end of the video that he throws the gun from is the same bridge featured in the original video where that gun was thrown off the bridge also.
You did react to the original by Billy Gilman when he was like 12-13. I legit loved his voice on CMT when I was growing up. He was on a recent show to show people he's still singing. I forget which one though.
Billy recorded Michael Martin Murphey's "What's Forever For", too, when he was a kid. So great to see and hear him again...Against those beautifully wrenching ballads, if you want something more lighthearted from Billy G, check out "Snake Song"...
Yes you did Billy Gilman's One Voice two years ago, when he was about 11/12 years old, You though he was 6 lol :) Could you please do Oklahoma by Billy Gilman?
Exactly. Most kid singers get screwed when they hit puberty because their voices change. Billy got lucky because he can still hit the notes and sound pretty close to the way he used to
I Have Always Loved this song and Billy's Beautiful Voice!!!! I Remember when he 1st released it in May 2000, he was just 12 years old when he released it and he was the Youngest male artist in history to have a Solo Top 40 hit on the Country Charts!!!! I've been in this situation around 6 years ago and Thank God it Didn't work!!!! I suffer from PTSD, Depression, Anxiety, & Panic Attacks!!!! But You Have to Fight Through It!!!! I Know it's easier Said Than Done!!!! And Billy's voice is Still Absolutely Angelic!!!! Home Free is Amazing for doing this song with Billy!!!! Great Reaction as Usual!!!! I've Always Cried when Billy sang this song!!!! But this video is Really Very Deep!!!!
Billy Gillman was like 10 when he came out with song I was in middle school I think. I absolutely loved it this is only an improvement on the original ❤❤❤❤❤🙏
I like how home free wanted to remake Billy Gilman's old song yes it is Billy's song he sang when he was a kid on his album one voice as a country singer but it sound great like this too I like home free and they make a perfect match
Billy had the voice of an angel as a child. He also has some amazing performances from when he was on The Voice a couple years ago that you might enjoy.
He actually has reacted to Billy's original version. He did it a couple years ago. I hoped he would redo some of his own stuff again, now that he's older.
@@jerdawg19821 thank you. I had actually caught a thumbnail for the original version after I had already typed this and just hadn’t had a chance to re-type it.
When Billy sang this at the age of 12, it was about the Columbine Shootings. Now 20 years later they brought it back for Mental Health Month. You should check out his original video. Great reaction.
When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken. ~ Psalm 34:17-20
Billy Gilman is an amazing guy and singer! As a young boy he performed on the Jerry Lewis mda telethon for many years! where he met Mattie a poet. Billy made a album of Matties poems put to music! They remained friends until Mattie passed from Muscular Dystrophy he was almost 14
Thank you so much for reacting to this song. I have seen it many times and the same feeling comes each time. It is a message everyone needs to hear. To think Billy Gilman was so young and was so aware of life around him is amazing. So much thanks to Home Free for what they do and collaborating with Billy on this song. Hoping it brings awareness to all out there and those in need will reach out for help. Thank you Billy.
It's even more heartbreaking when Billy Gilman sang it at the age of 12!
his voice is beautiful now but so sweet and pure when he was 12
He really needs to do a reaction to the original video.
