Tried this recipe twice..texture is fine but it always tastes and smells like eggs😭😭I added 1 teaspoon on vanilla essence to the batter the second time and it still smells and tastes like eggs. What could be wrong?
I don't add the flavour to the cake, I just add it to the simple syrup so as not to be too strong. If you must add, use 1 teaspoon per kilo, add it after adding the sugar.

Add just 4 eggs and try ..
You need to whip your eggs some more. The eggy smell will not be there.

I think you should add white chocolate in your whipped cream
They have made this cake like Japanese cake and named White forest cake as they have grated a lot of white chocolate on top

in egg cake vanilla essence is compulsary
the simple syrup used, contains vanilla essence
Tried this recipe....turned out okay but way toooo sugary

Hi, you can dilute the simple syrup in order to reduce the sugar. For example 1 cup sugar to 2 cups water.
