The Death Spiral is one of the most important skills to master in Sea of Thieves. Today’s video is a super quick introduction to Death Spiraling, but I have more in-depth guides on the way! Don’t forget to subscribe! 🦑 And join my Discord: discord.gg/gkXcUWP6
Don't forget about the inverted spiral. That's where you stop your ship but their ship is stuck in place spinning. In both cases you need to make sure you keep them from returning fire from the cannons.
2 years ago just before hourglass I watched a Blurbs video on death spiraling and I though it was impossible for me to do…2 years later and I never miss a shot on cannons and I am easily death spiraling enemies in hourglass.
I love these unique PvP strategies in SoT. Out of all the PvP games I play, this one has the most in-depth PvP and actually requires a brain cell to play rather than just hours and muscle memory. Obviously the time spent in game has an effect on PvP but I have done pretty well against skelly curse players just from strategy. Amazing video, most of the other death spiral videos out there are really old so this is nice!
@@captain_squiddy There is a lot more room for adaptation against sweaty players, versus the "get one shot and that's the end of the whole fight" stuff you see in most games.
Thats why I got addicted to this game too. I hate fast reflex - muscle memory games. If you can think in this game, you can win. Even as a beginner. I love this game!
Should have also made brief mention of the difference between death spiraling as a sloop, a brig, and as a galleon, because the larger ships are harder to turn.
I'm always me and my buddies helmsman and man it can be stressful when I mess up our spiral but when you get it it's clean I actually beat a galleon as a sloop the other day and it was great
I would like to know the best thing to do when you start a hour glass match and your passing each other as i have had people take me out first pass, then had ones where we fighting for 10 minutes
On sloop turn the mast all the way to the left or right now. The circle won't stay in place as long as it did before, but it's the best you can do with the new changes
Halfway as a starting point- typically this is the best speed for PVP, but you have to judge that for yourself. If you're not orbiting, maybe you'll need to raise it more.
try to adjust your wheel so you rotate with them while they circle you. If you're on a sloop, you want them to only see the left side of your boat. if they're able to damage both sides, you get put under a ton of pressure. from there, try to knock their mast down and straighten wheel if you get it. When you knock their mast, they will still drift a little bit so you'll have to account for that. then it's just two stationary boats shooting and repairing until one of them sinks.
I must say pvp is kinda sh!t, lost 5 matches in the row. Only one was unlucky, the other matches I got way more experienced players and one who nearly lost let his brother play to win.
Don't worry, that's normal. Those experienced players went through the exact same thing you are when they were starting out. If you choose to stick with it you will get better. The sot pvp learning curve is super steep so most people give up after they lose their first few matches. But if you can tough it out and become an average hourglass player, you can beat the average sea of thieves player. And it wouldn't even be close.

Yeah I love how huge the skill gap is on SoT! All the naval strategy stuff is so fun to learn and experiment with

@@lynic-0091 Thats why I prefer this to fortnite lol!

@@captain_squiddy btw man, what level are you?
I really need to get better at death spirals because I always seem to get on broadside just as they fixed their mast
I'm so grateful. Thanks for your videos they always help me
Thanks lad

Can you do a chain shot guide next love the content !
This is great thank you! Do you have any tips for canons?
Can you do a video on types of chests and how to deal with them
Thank you for the great guide
Your videos are so useful for me :) Thanks!
Do you play in preferred controller console lobbies? I’m curious because I’m wondering if I should switch to controller to play in the servers.

Spiral just faster than swimming speed to keep those boarders swimming after you instead of saving their ship.
May I ask you, how did you make the animation at 0:33? I want to make something similar
I made it in Photoshop, and then I just screen recorded me rotating the object
What cannons at 2:01? Also great guide
I think it's shark hunter set or just hunter set
Is this still effective? I heard the ship speed changes made it near impossible to maintain a spiral in a sloop.

Show how to turtle
Do I raise sail fully? or just half way.?

this has now changed since the ship speeds have changed
How do I deal with someone death spiraling me?
Blurbs has a good video, I believe it’s called how to solo hourglass. (It’ll probably work for duo because it’s sloop in general)

A spiral is a line that gets wider as it circles. I think the word you are looking for is circle. But im sure you didnt make up the term.
Reject death spiral return to ram strat
Death circle ⭕️
212 levels in hg and still messing death spirál 😂.

erm actually it's closer to 3 minutes 🤓

PVP isn't shit you just are. Get better man and if you don't like it don't do it.
@@wonderingRonin47 Yes I'm, but it isn't helpful that most of the time I fight people with much higher levels.
