- Hi guys! Today I'm going to show you how to apply adhesive foil to a mug. You could also use vinyl and follow the same step. In this video, you'll also learn how to prepare your projects in Cricut Space design to be cut in Adhesive foil or vinyl.

She does mention to only wash it by hand but I did vinyl on a cat water bowl and put it in the heavy cycle on the dishwasher after I left the vinyl on there for 1 week and it was completely fine I've washed my cat water bowl with vinyl on it three to four times on the heavy cycle in the dishwasher and nothing has happened to the vinyl

THANK YOU! I have owned my Cricut for over 2 years and best easiest explanation. I had not used due to hard so I thought , you made easy for me . Learned from other YD video his to change jpg. To svg and you help me on all the rest. Of course I picked a hard and very detailed picture to do and didn't fit my itended item and struggled with getting it to go on Mason jar, but I will try again, I did Freddie Krueger and detail very small on a approx 3x4.5 piece . I’m confused. Haha. I am buying a cricut maker soon and I wonder what iron to buy as well. I was going to get the cricut iron 9x9 but I didn’t realize you needed an iron for mugs! I thought it was just peel and stick like you did in your video.. but my friend said I need to iron the mugs too. How is yours ok with just sticking it on? Is the iron to make it dishwasher safe? Or do you use specific vinyl? Thanks and sorry for the questions haha

2 Question's...
1) I was playing around with script font using the font from design space. When I went to weld the line my lower case s filled in and there was no weeding. Why did it do that to only one letter?
2) when I started welding more sayings it then turned it to gray from then on yet my first five were black. I didn't change the color to gray either so why was it gray?
Hi, 1) Maybe you're using a script font that you downloaded online; these fonts tend to have issues, check the layer panel, and remove the pieces that you don't need.
2) The color is not that important; just be sure action is cut. Color is only important if you're using the print then cut technique.

Hi, you are probably using Cricut fonts, if you don't want to pay, you need to use your computer fonts ( system fonts). Check my video Cricut fonts vs System fonts. Also you should think about getting Cricut Access, you pay about $10 a month but it gives you unlimited access to cricut library that includes images, fonts and ready to make projects.

I’m having a terrible time once I put my design on the transfer tape and then apply it to my cup I’m having the hardest time with it adhering to the cup and not the adhesive tape are there any tricks you could tell me about

You weld ( join together the pieces) if you don't do it you will cut each letter as a single element.

Hi, no, when using adhesive vinyl you shouldn’t use the microwave or dishwasher. Only hand wash. If you want something permanent you need to use Infusible Ink and the mug press.

Hi, you can use any smooth mug, the mugs from Dollar Tree will work just fine.
What do you recommend using to seal your cups?
I don't seal my mugs, but you can do it only if you are a 100% sure the product you are using is safe to be use with food.

Hi, I don’t recommend using HTV for mugs; I consider it a waste of time. However if you are using Infusible Ink or sublimation you need a mug press.
