How would you feel at your job is your boss treated you that way? This a ONCE IN A LIFETIME opportunity for Aiyuk to make generational wealth for his family, with his body... maybe look at it from that perspective and you'll understand Jones better. Always remember NFL players have an average life expectancy of only around 55 years, so. they are sacrificing 20 years of life for the possible payout, if they are lucky enough to make it to the point they can cash in.

@@cameronzwicke5761 Maybe rewatch the Super Bowl All 22, Deebo was never open yet throw to all day. Aiyuk had separation on over 50% of his routes but saw few targets. The All 22 shows the 49ers did not feature Aiyuk, which was a mistake that cost them in the end.
James is constantly forgetting how Deebo handled the contract situation, because it was pretty much exactly what BA is doing. Imo Joy and David have the most accurate opinions about this whole situation because their focus is on the 9ers recent history while Acho's and James' POVs are mostly based on their experiences

Go watch his highlights from last season, 90% of those catches were wide open catches. When there's a defender actually contesting the catch(not the pff definition of within 2 yards), he consistently doesn't make the catch. He's schemed open, or Purdy throws him open the majority of his catches last season. He's not worth more than St Brown money, he's not elite.

I really hope BA is smarter than that. If the Niners don’t think he’s worth 30 million and he sits out 10 weeks and then doesn’t produce those last 7 weeks because he hasn’t been there so it’s hard to just turn it on. What is that gonna do to his free agency? What if they franchise tag him the next season and the season after that? This guy hasn’t made any real money yet and you’re telling me he’s gonna sit out 10 games at a little less than 1 million a game? I love the niners more than BA but I love my money as a small business owner more than anything except my family. He has no leverage and hasn’t had a big contract yet, he has to play this smart. Play for 14 million get tagged for 27 next year and possibly 33 the year after and then he has all the leverage and can do whatever he wants plus has a ton of cash he made over those 2 tagged years. Security or money, u have to choose because you don’t have the leverage to get both and you don’t have the life changing money sitting in the bank to sit out or risk getting hurt. It’s his choice and he is letting his emotions cloud his business decision and that’s how u lose. Lakers offered Shurtter I think 25 million a year for 4 years over 100 million. He said no the next season he signed a 1 year 5 million dollar contract and never got offered big money again. The goal should be for BA to win and sitting out while Lessing your value is not winning.

He is a great route runner, but when he has a defender actually contesting the catch, he doesn't make that catch. I'm not talking about pffs definition of contested catch as a defender just has to be within 2 yards to be contested, that counts about 40 plays where Aiyuk is two yards past the defender and he catches the ball in stride while the defender is literally trying to catch up.
It don’t matter what former players say or think, Niners have all the leverage in this situation and for all the people mad about it because of owners the players have a players union and negotiate all these points! Aiyuk will make more this yr than he has on his total contract!
He still has a year left on his contract so this is nothing but hype for shock value. Niners have waited til the last minute to make moves on all their premier homegrown talent, so don't expect any significant moves until the mid season Week 8 trade deadline if anything. Why would the Niners want BA after all this drama he has caused on social media? He’s a solid player but the Niners ranked 32nd in pass attempts. This offensive identity is run through the ground game. They have enough playmakers on offense. In other words, the Niners hold the leverage big time. The players who hold out aren’t missing any money or anything they’re owed through their contract. I would also imagine there’s language within the contract stating they can release the player at their leisure.

I hate these stories because regardless of an extension THE PLAYER IS GETTING PAID! He signed the contract to play all the years and now he doesn’t want to uphold his end of the deal and not play the final year because he doesn’t get an extension with bigger money. These divas are acting like they’re playing their final year for free while the team is just like hey, make good on your original contract. Go do the best you can and prove you’re worth staying on this team and if not then at least you auditioned for the other teams. You made a deal and now you’re withdrawing on that deal with a year left on a contract you were happy to sign. What if the team said “you know your final year you’re playing for free” the team can’t withdraw their agreement for the final year.
And let’s be honest, Aiyuk hasn’t wanted to be here for awhile. Read/hear all his comments from the moment they lost the SB to now, it’s all been negative. His first comment after losing was he’s tired of being on a losing team. He’s part of that team. He’s wanted to go for awhile. Complete your agreed upon deal and move on with your life. If you’re worth top dollar prove it and someone will pay you. You’ve done good for us half of your contract years so thanks for that. Finish strong and quit being a baby
