Till this day, Skip hasn’t apologised to Sharp for his comment. At least not publicly. I think that after Shannon left, everybody quit on Skip due to his moral and ego (I’m the shit 🔥 here)
This. Skip is great at what he does, but he had the perfect “counterpart” in Shanon. Sharpe IMO, over time, became a larger part of Undisputed’s success than Skip. Skip didn’t see it, or thought he could create compelling content with other guests. It is not easy to find another Shanon. He struck gold with him.
Skip deserves all his flowers. I've been tapping in since the 'Cold Pizza', and early First Take days with Dana Jacobson and Jay Crawford. At the time, Stephen A was just a guest on the show. Imo Skip started the televised "sports debate" format. He blessed Stephen A with First Take, and gave opportunity to several athletes to dip thier feet in the tv debate waters. It'll definitely be different not seeing him in the space any longer.
Skip is 73 and he has been doing this since his 20s. He actually had a career longer than just about anyone else in that industry. As annoying as he is, he is one of the GOATs of "sports journalism" and on the Mount Rushmore of sports debate shows.
As annoying as Skip is, Key made that show completely unwatchable. Wasn't until PP showed up that it started to get a little bit of life but it was far too late and Key is still far too annoying. Maybe hes better with football but his basketball knowledge was outright offensively ignorant and it seems like he never put the time in to learn the game.
It seems either Skip or the producers said "Shannon Sharpe is gone we need another loud black man" ignoring that Sharpe is eloquent, intelligent, can be poetic at times.. and just got the first idiotic, incoherent replacement they could get
Skip became his own worst enemy. His main issue is him making things personal with the athletes they talk about. That issue created friction with him and Shannon, and also made those same athletes avoid the show. They would go to Shannon’s show, but never Skip’s
True the tom Brady segment was the final straw but the way skip handled the Hamlin situation prior to that contributed greatly I’m sure. Shannon took the day off he was so upset and the next day skip interrupted him when Shannon was trying to explain his position and you could see it was only a matter of time.
Never thought it was a good idea to have a rapper on a sports show on a regular basis. It's cool to have them like he did with snoop a couple of times a year. At least Snoop was actually a coach and somewhat interesting when it came to sports at least in CA. Not really a fan of Lil Wayne but wouldn't mind if it wasn't on a regular basis. IT is what it is
I think that the moment Skip started personally attacking Shannon when he was losing arguments a LOT of people permanently lost respect for him. It's one thing to be wrong and have some ridiculous opinions, and another thing to be a disrespectful sore loser.

Talk about Lebron, laker game and goat debate We”d be lucky to get a cfb topic or boxing topic , let alone baseball topic. Even if you wanna stick to football- basketball, there are plenty of teams to talk about but you stuck to 1-5 teams, mainly the cowboys, not everyone is a cowboys fan.

The end of Skip Bayless started the night the Buffalo Bills player (D. Hamlin) almost died on the field and he wouldn't retract his insensitive comments about the game not being completed.
I was there and the game should have been completed, the Bills were losing or they would have continued. That being said Skip is too political and a communist.
I'll never forgive Skip and a few other talking heads for making sports fans believe that unless a player won a championship, he was a bum. Before that it was mentioned if a player didnt have a title but his greatness wasnt diminished because of it. Thanks to Skipthats been a thing the past 15-20 years

I hate that Skip gets credited for creating the modern debate format when Around the Horn and PTI existed (and are still thriving) before Skip. They were around two years before Skip joined Cold Pizza. What made First Take better before SAS became permanent was the rotation of debaters (2 Live Stus, Jemele Hill, SAS, etc.).

I have cable and RUclips (obviously) and Undisputed is my favorite show on record and watch. I like Skip because he is the best consistent narrator in his views and opinions which is often funny and blistering. It’s always good to hear old generation stories about sports compared to where we are at in these days

I’ll never forget, it was on a Thursday and from Monday-Thursday, they had a topic about Baker. It was literally the same thing but worded differently and Shannon made a comment like “Like I’ve been saying these last 3 days, blah blah blah” and Skip interrupted Shannon, basically saying that if your so much better at picking topic, pick the topic for next week. That following week, they talked about everything but the Cowboys,LeBron, Brady.. which lasted 1 week.
Best show in ALL of sports media is "First Things First", that team in on a whole other level and I been watching all sports shows for a long long time. Closest thing I can compare them to is "Inside the NBA" on TNT, and that's one of the greatest compliment a show could get.
Keyshawn Johnson ruined undisputed. Dude is annoying , has a horrible voice , has horrible takes, and CANT talk basketball at ALL. Dude has ZERO sports knowledge outside of football

I have cable and RUclips (obviously) and Undisputed is my favorite show on record and watch. I like Skip because he is the best consistent narrator in his views and opinions which is often funny and blistering. It’s always good to hear old generation stories about sports compared to where we are at in these days

I’ll never forget, it was on a Thursday and from Monday-Thursday, they had a topic about Baker. It was literally the same thing but worded differently and Shannon made a comment like “Like I’ve been saying these last 3 days, blah blah blah” and Skip interrupted Shannon, basically saying that if your so much better at picking topic, pick the topic for next week.
That following week, they talked about everything but the Cowboys,LeBron, Brady.. which lasted 1 week.

Best show in ALL of sports media is "First Things First", that team in on a whole other level and I been watching all sports shows for a long long time. Closest thing I can compare them to is "Inside the NBA" on TNT, and that's one of the greatest compliment a show could get.
