Nice work! Just did this with my manual swap on my 2001 330i bmw. This helps me know if I did it correctly so props my friend 👏. Nothing wrong with wearing eye protection when grinding and chiseling my guy- you only get one pair of eyes per go around! Cheers
Nice job. You made it look simple but I bet its a lot of work. While you were there, you could have replaced your output shaft seal for $5 and a 30mm deep socket. Next time though!!!
Hi there. I have a 99 BMW Z3 2.8 AT. Jittering vibration occurs when accelerating only, at around 1600 to 2000 rpm. The vibration seems to be coming out from the left rear side. Harder the acceleration, the harder the jittering vibes. I'm starting to think that perhaps the center support may have been ripped apart like yours, causing the drive shaft to wobble at certain rpm. Once the shaft is in higher rpm the wobble stabilizes and the vibration seizes temporarily? Yesterday, the squeaking sound started to come out in slow speed. I'm starting to think that the drive shaft is now touching some metal parts, and hence making the noise. My question to you is, did you felt the vibration during acceleration like I had?
bro where you find ythe place where you to put the carjack in the back of the car? (in what spot in the back, the differential?) 😭 i couldnt find any safe spot, like i couldnt see any piece of the chassi in the back, unless i havent lOOked ....lol, help me outtt
@@Amnxoficial There’s a few jacking points on this car but they’re kind of tricky to get to if you don’t have a low-profile floor jack. I lift up the car from the differential and place my jacks on the each side of the car under the subframe. It should be slightly in front of the the rear wheels. The owners manual says at the base of the subframe but I place them towards the middle just to be safe.
I just purchased a 2001 with the 3.0L 6 and 5 speed ZF manual. It had 129,000 miles on it and was super clean. Owned by a 70 year old guy that did all the preventative maintenance at BMW for the entire life of the car. So clean car, but still curious, what made you realize that you needed to replace your Guibo and center support bearing? I want to look out for it the next time I drive her.
Good question! For me it was shaking and thumping when you put it into gear. Until I finally looked under the car and realized how worn out and damaged the guibo is.
So I have the 3.0 and its dual pipe ran together all the way back. My down pipe and exhaust connection is 4bolts since its 2pipes. I broke 3of the 4 bolts off that are pressed into the down pipe. Dont feel bad about your 1 stripped bolt. It happens.lol

Pft is just as good as torque. I always like to check after if my pft was actually torque accurate.
