Two of the many things I have learned in my almost half century of repairing cars are 1)If you don't have what you need tool wise and can borrow it, do so. but if you think or know you will need it again, buy it. 2)If you buy the best you will only have to buy it once.

Or do what I do. Buy that tool anyway. And then sell it as ‘used only once’ on eBay afterwards.
I usually get most of my money back.
Obviously I only do this with tools that would very rarely get used.

I just did my one (on an X3) BMW. After loading it up on the puller using a 10 tonne hydraulic bearing puller) it still required a tap using an old wood chisel between the shaft and the inner race...bang...

I Love how easy this ruclips.net/user/postUgkxvAj3godqGAIP5rApM1laH767JGtPG1-h carrier is to adjust from my friend to me taking turns holding the baby! It provides great support on my back too! This has definitely made shopping easier! I always get asked where I get it too!

I'm confused, how is this a video on how to replace? You didn't even show it coming fully off let alone how to install the new one.

A little silver anti seize on the puller threads will some times help.

Definitely lube the treads, grease or antiseize. Depending on the situation Lube the end of the threaded rod also where it is going to spin on the work piece.

Hi Nathan,I'm after your help,I've recently bought an x3 which had a slight rumble noise on acceleration,on further inspection it appears that there isn't a front propshaft, but obviously it should be there,I'm going to buy one and put it on,but would this explain the rumbling noise in the lower gears and clunking...many thanks nigel

I just cut mine off with an angle grinder when I replaced the bearing on my e39. New one went on pretty easy. That vid wasn't up to your normal standards.

I dislike taking off the driveshaft ony e30. Such a pain in the butt especially if you have to be laying on the floor. My e30 center support bearing shield needs to be replaced because it makes a grinding noise when im in the higher rpms.

This crap tool wasn't designed for use on BMW... It happened to me couple of times as well... However, If I you need tool for one time use, you can rent it from many the automotive Stores. Worked for me.

I can't believe a little old BMW has to have a carrier bearing. We drive an F250 four-wheel drive pickup 8 ft bed extended cab it don't need no carrier bearing. I hope my wife's 2009 328i don't have one it's just more pieces of s*** to fix. I change my BMW emblem, two POS piece of s***

Most Trucks use solid shaft,Why would you buy it then? Your wife's 328i is going to have all the bm's specialty's
