Amzing upgrade - we also install these over here in the UK!
If you check the box for z link in setting you’ll get wireless CarPlay
Hi, thanks for the video. If you have factory Navigation and Blutooth (CIC) then do you still need to use the GPS and Wifi antena that comes with the kit? Also is it not better to use the host mic and not install another external mic?
confused with that wire for the AUX,..why do you need it ? is this system running the music sound though AUX and not the fiber wires?
Sir you have a spare? Wow please how did you make it fit? I’m honestly mind blown and if you could tell me the size of the rim and donut. I would really really appreciate it
Just purchased this for my 08 E70 X5 CCC and the standard "1314" Factory Code will not work. We looked up over 20 codes in videos and blogs and NONE of them allow us into factory setting. Which we need to do to get the unit to work Properly. Please Help if anyone knows the correct code.
Hola.
Muchas gracias.
Is it possible for users that purchased the android. 10 version 12.3 screen to upgrade to the newer android 11
Going with the 10 inch. My ocd won’t allow the asymmetry for the 12 inch
10 inch is not a bad choice either
Yes my ocd will have me thinking it's crooked like something is missing 🤣🤣🤣🤣 but if it was centered I would buy it😊 so I went with the 10.25 it looks more factory 😜🤪 Great Video Sir
I just finished installing a 10" on my 2013 E70 X5.
Everything works great except when using Google Maps there is no voice coming.
What should I do?
Hi what's the reason of the sim card? Is it priority to fit it? Can I share my phone data with this unit also use car sat nav
Man, I thought he was going to drop that thing while standing with it.🤣🤣
How about navigation? I've got a 2008 E70 X5 with CCC unit, which doesn't have factory navigation with all maps.
Does navigation work good and will it show your position real-time as it should?
You can run any map application as you want. We run usually Waze app. It uses oem GPS or you can install aftermarket GPS antenna on the car. It's perfect and 1000x better then OEM maps.
They only look good in the F models💯
Not really..
The screen looks outta place compared to the 10.25. I thoughy 12.3 would look better but I'm just going with the old 10.25. Thanks for the vid.
Not a problem. Everyone likes different things. Both are good tho.
yea the 12.3 is a bit off center. it looks odd compared to the 10.23
Why do you change CAN settings in the Factory for the 4th string? Normally it works fine for CCC/CIC on the 1st one.
We just did. No point to do it. seems all CAN options work the same. We haven't found any difference on those.
@@EstPerformance I've ended up with the same conclusion. But I noticed for some Evo devices string number 2 solves some oem menu picture issues (removes flickering).
I plan to purchase this for my 2007 X5 E70 with CCC . Mine does NOT have factory GPS nor back up camera. Will this unit give me those capabilities if I purchase the after market rear camera? If yes, would you recommend the wired or wireless camera? Thanks for inspiring me.
Hi.. Sorry for the long response but here it is. If you have CCC then yes you can still install it. You just need the CCC version of it. And yes you will get GPS function and backup camera function. You just need to choose those when you make an order. I'm using wireless backup option because it's a little bit easier to install but they sometimes give a lot of communication problems and picture can be static. If running cables from front to back is not a problem for you use wired system.
I have just installed this unit in my 2012 x5 but my back up camera is not working . all the connection are right and I am using oem camera . there is no setting which I can change in the factory setting
Does it show the 360 view cam view on the screen clearly? what about reverse?
Yes.. You keep all your original settings and functions if you want.
I install something similar but I can hear the music and the original camera didn’t work why??✍🏼🙏
Are you in the US? If so who is your SIM card carrier? I couldn't find a SIM card that works with the Android head unit. thanks.
How do you like the size of this compared to the 10.25?
We like it. Have had both of them.
the SIM card is free to use? the internet traffic do you need to pay for each month as the way using the mobile.
Free? No you need to buy data line from a provider. We use T-Mobile 2GB data 10$ per month.
Hey brotha, I am having audio problem with my 12.3 android head unit . Sound is coming from oem radio on oem screen but no sound for android CarPlay via zlink and no sound from android screen. Any help would be great.
I connected oem optical cable to the android harness. I routed aux cable to the aux port inside armrest. Still no sound.
Do I remove aux extension from arm rest then reconnect male aux to the female aux on the android harness like you mentioned and see if that works ‘
Would that make a difference.
Your help would be much appreciated
hey brother did you figure it out? is it a setting issue in the factory setting ytou think? im going to try and fix mine again tonight
@@artemisentreri9684did you figure your problem out, was it a setting or connection cable?
I have the same problem, original BMW radio and multimedia, but no sound from Android?
Thanks for replying and helping out... 😊
Was there a certain way you hid the cables behind the deck? I'm having a hard time hiding the cables and getting the deck back in.
Hi.. Yes. You can't hide them behind. Not enough space. You got to try to hide them under and left corner. Yes. It's PIA but possible to do. I wish avin would have longer pigtails.
@@EstPerformance Thank you, it has been a PIA and its the one thing that most videos I've watched every installer seems to skip over this part or just cut to after they actually get deck back in. Thanks for the reply and doing the video!
@@EstPerformance I forgot to ask did you remove any side panels to do this or did were you able to do it with just removing the main front panels?
@@chinnobi Just the front. And passenger long one for installing the aux. I can only relate why they skip it. All these curse words that come out doesn't belong to a RUclips video lol
Is the wifi antenna is only for sim card or I can use it for tethering internet from my mobile phone ?
No. WIFI is for WIFI and you can use it for Hotspot.
I mounted my car radio and I only have the sound of the original radio coming out why
Did you figure this out and I have the same problem, original BMW radio and multimedia, but no sound from Android?
Thanks for replying and helping out... 😊
Could you use the original microphone instead of AVIN's?
You will still use the original one for the oem side of the radio functions. For the Android side i think you need to use the included one. But don't quote me on that.
Will this fit a 2013 bmw x5 35i?
Yes it does.
Does this fit the 2014 bmx x6
Which size you like better 10.25 or 12.3?
I like both. Bigger is little better imo.
I got the same unit but different supplier and after connecting all the wires (including the aux) there is no sound from the speakers (my car is 2012 x5, CIC, w/o GPS, 6.5" screen).
What did I miss ?
Did you connect the optical cable properly?
@@bluememph1s
Sure did 👍
@@eslamsedky72 Did you get it figured out? You sure you have AUX selected from the old unit?
@@EstPerformance
No, I could not figure it out
Tried all the settings and options in the unit software
I'm sure it is connected properly bc all the original functions and menus are working fine
All I'm getting is a wavey puzzing sound
Update: upon the supplier instruction to perform "learn" procedure on the CD's selection buttons (with the AUX cable connected), the unit worked and the sound is as good as the oem unit 👍👍 and I have no clue why did that work 🤷♂️
I have a 2013 X5 M - wondering if this will work since i have premium sound
Yes it works with all sound systems
@@EstPerformance Any tips on fitting the stock radio box back in? the avin harness addition adds so much bulk that the stock radio won't fit all the way back in...
@@swerze1 Hi.. Yes. You can't hide them behind. Not enough space. You got to try to hide them under and left corner. Yes. It's PIA but possible to do. I wish avin would have longer pigtails.
@@EstPerformance very important question that doesnt get asked enough and hopefully you can answer it. Previous avin units had diminished sound quality coming from the android side but worked perfectly fine on the idrive side. Do these newer units have the same issue or has it been resolved. Again in previous avin units specially the ones that came with android 4.4 had poor audio quality when playing on the android side. Please let me know.
@@jrlathrop1 Hi.. I don't notice any quality loss from original head unit vs android at all. But that's my take.
Website isn't working, can only get to home screen?
Seems like they are doing maintenance..
Hi what is the function of the wifi antenna?
You serious?💀💀
Can you change the car model? In the menu
Yes
@@EstPerformance how i need help to change
@@MsCuprar Need to go to the secret menu and change it from there.
@@EstPerformance can you tell me were?
@@MsCuprar We discuss it in the video
Why you kept big disturbing cable plug and why you use AUX plug?
What do you mean why? Because it's plug and play? And AUX needs to be used for 90% of the cars.
@@EstPerformance yes it is plug n play for people who does not have knowledge in bmw electronics. You have to vode out one more AUX on the screen to use it for sound instead of AUX plug in elbow rest.
@@gatojurko1 What are you talking about?
@@EstPerformance if it is ccc, code out one more AUX. Plug out the cable from AUX use car's AUX from factory wires. That cable are behind unit where you left that big plug.
@@gatojurko1 2011 and up has CIC. So nothing to do with CCC
I just installed the 10.25 with Android 11 from Avin. It's my 2nd unit from them, so I'm pretty good on setting it up.
Nonetheless, with this unit I'm having 2 major issues:
1. The wifi is ON after the unit boots up, but it turns off in about 10 seconds. Hotspot is enabled on my phone, so it should connect right away, but it doesn't. Wifi settings are on Connect Automatically, but obviously they're not working.
2. If I'm listening to anything on the Android part (Spotify or any other player) and I'm switching to BMW menu by holding the Menu button, that player is paused and sound turns OFF.
But, if the car is standing still and I press the rear view camera button on the dash, the music still continues, even though I've switched to the BMW menu by doing that. I can even scroll through the whole menu and the music still plays.
Both issues weren't present on my previous Avin unit: 10.25, PX6 chipset with Android 9.
The problem is: I don't know what's causing both, but I'm almost sure it's a software bug.
I've tried both Automatic and Manual Aux switching in settings. I've tried Harman, Alpine and Other, still nothing.
Did Avin solve your issues yet? hows the quality of the sound and how do you play it? did you get that Android Autoplay USB adapter they sell with their Autoplay dongle?
That shit look Stupid just like those cables you were hiding 😒 🤣 🙄 😂 😐 😑 😒 🤣
That's a stupid comment.. If you don't like it move on :)
My sound ain't working. I think I need to change a setting?
Lo has arreglado?
Looks obnoxiously big and tacky.. looks like shit to be honest the 10.25 looks much cleaner
