    Hi ….. beautiful work and designs. What size did you choose for the fruit wreaths please. I quite like the placement of the ones you decided to use. I do have large hoops so thats not an issue 😀

      It looks like we used the large size of those designs. Here is a link to the written instructions with access to designs used: www.emblibrary.com/learn/how-to/embroidering-on-straw-placemats-machine-embroidery

      @@EmbroideryLibraryEL Thank you for your reply. I actually ended up ordering the 6.90 x 6.91” the other day. Not the largest but next one down. It was during the 60% sale so I thought the ideal time to buy. I didn’t want to miss such a great bargain. I measured the mats and hoops I have and I think they are going to look gorgeous. 😀

    Love this video, was wondering what size hoop and Embroidery Design you used. I have a Brother 770 and was wondering which hoop to use for this project, looks like 5x12, but not sure of the design size. Thanks, I have enjoyed your site and it is my first stop on all embroidery projects.

    I tried this with hats and broke so many needles I finally gave up....but I love the placements and want to try them. The needles seem to break when I hit the ridges on the hats.........What kind of needles were you using? I was using the tear away stabilizer and top coating. Help please as the placemats are so cute and I love the EmbLib circle designs!

      Kerry Salatino Kerry I'm so surprised by that! A needle break is most often related to thread tension, so check into that first thing. We used a size 11 sharp sewing needle. But take a few moments to view the video again, because I use cutaway stabilizer, not tear-away. HTH!

      I use a 90 heavy weight needle and tacky tear away or cut a way. I also have a basting stitch so I use that too. Love the look!

    • @pamelagraham3100
      @pamelagraham3100 8 лет назад

      Kerry Salatino, You need a stronger bottom stabilizer like cutaway in the video, she did not use any tearaway! Needles are also mentioned in the video, not embroidery needles.

    Just wondering why the thread is reversed on the holder. I have this same machine and have never put it on that way. Does it stitch better reversed?

    • @EmbroideryLibraryEL
      @EmbroideryLibraryEL  9 лет назад

      Cheryl Brobst Good question, Cheryl - normally it would be the other way. But I was using a 1000m spool of Madeira, and the thread can catch around the pin and spool cap if I have it the traditional way. But if I place it so the narrow end is facing right, it works fine. So I think it's just a quirk with the type of machine, and the type of thread spool.

    • @micheleklein9075
      @micheleklein9075 8 лет назад

      On the Brother machines it works either way.

    where do you get the template to print and cut out

    • @EmbroideryLibraryEL
      @EmbroideryLibraryEL  7 месяцев назад

      When you download the design you can use machine embroidery software to print dielines and templates. If you don't have software, you can also stitch a sample of the design onto a scrap piece of fabric, and use that as a template.

    how do you get the templates?

    • @EmbroideryLibraryEL
      @EmbroideryLibraryEL  8 лет назад

      +Jan Warner Templates are printouts of designs, so you would print a design from an embroidery software program to make a template. A bit more detail o the HELP page here: www.emblibrary.com/EL/help.aspx?page=help2whatisatemplate
