Very nice comparison, it’s disappointing that Jordan Brand drastically changes the colors when they retro or re-retro sneakers. I understand they want to show respects to prior releases, but it would be nice to me to get a exact (as close as possible) retro.
Try walking into a shop and finding the exact same fabric from something you made 7 years ago. I understand your point, I thought they'd be lighter. I actually purchased a whole retro phillies outfit thinking it would match 😂
I wish I could post pics of my 13s. I have both ogs from the early 2000s. They're 10 years old now and look good. Ppl be thinking I got reps, but I got them from footlocker myself 😂😂
Jordan brand has changed the material it uses for a reason. A lot of people are saying it’s not like the 06’ pair. Of course it’s not. Look at the amount of crumble and deterioration that has happened to the 06 pair!!! Jordan is now using material that will last longer. Material that won’t yellow as soon as you wear them or crumble if not stored in proper placement. As much as people complain about the new material coming out, In 5-10 years they will come to the point of being thankful for the changes because their shoe is still fully intact even years and years after release.
Disappointed with the more muted colors on the ‘23 pair. I never realized how much I liked the thicker Jumpman on 5’s til I look at these side by side too.

Everyone making a huge deal about it but as a dude who owns both I don’t really mind the differences, the new pair is still a really nice shoe I just wish it wasn’t $200+
I was thinking about using liquid mink oil to darken them up but I'm too chickenshit to ruin them. I wonder if they might darken on their own with age. They fit great & I found almost no flaws in the stitching. Only one side had a little extra rubber nub sticking out of the translucent part of the sole.
I'm upset I had both pair and when I got the new ones I was upset the suede wasn't soft and deep that made the color popped out like the one's from 06 I'm disappointed
Honestly they are close enough to the 06 pair for me . The differences in color won’t matter cause no one is wearing 06s to compare , plus they won’t be back around for at least another 10 years so i couldn’t miss out !
