Ty for this hermano… good look!
Nicely presented ! Good to know engine coolant drain plug is on passenger side. 2003 Pilot Owner’s Manual specifies Tightening torque: 7 lbf-ft .
Saved me some dough...dealership wanted 280 for this job! Thank you bro
brantk81 Glad to help. 😎
Excellently done. Impressive video showing everything. Thank you!
2323818 Thanks for watching! 😎
Thank you very much for making this video! It was extremely helpful to me while changing the coolant in my 2009 Acura MDX.
Thanks this was most helpful
Thank you for the video bro I will have to do mine soon
Thanks for this video, good job! Your trick was good for the petcock but my big fat fingers still couldn't fit a small enough wrench in there. I used the same 22mm short socket that I use for the lugs to get mine loose and was a piece of cake from there. Hopefully this will help others. FYI - this video was nearly the same for my 2012 EX-L
Great advice. Thanks!
Nice job. Big help. Big thanks 👍👏🙏
Thanks for watching!😎
Thank you.👍😃
You should use spill free funnel for bleeding in coolant system
Thanks!!!
Wow, thanks for the info bro!
Thanks for watching!😎
Thanks for the video!! How many miles can you go on a 2017 Pilot Touring before you need to flush the coolent?
Holy shit. Nice job getting that camera angle in the beginning. You should go into directing
Thanks for the video. Is it the same process for a Honda Pilot 2006? I have to flush mine because I just found out that they put the wrong coolant in the system, my is color green. Your video will save me some dough.
Yes, It should be the same.
Is it the same method pretty much free the first generation as well
Thanks very much. You showed good!!
is it possible to see the block heater location in this video?
Great video very educational, can this be done in a 2014 honda
Yes
Where did you get the black horse from, was it yours? I wanna to this. So helpful🙌🏻
I wanna do this
I found the petcock is hard to remove with pliers or a wrench. Then I tried using 7/8 socket and it was a cinch!
Thanks for the tip! 😎
Thanks Keith
Goes to show if you maintenance your vehicle you don't need to worry about vcm oil burn
When you adjust the temperature to hot, do you also turn the fan on, or do you leave it off?
Yes turn the fan on
Is it absolutely necessary to drive around or can all this be done at idle? Great content by the way.
It can be done at idle. Thanks for watching!😎
@@fixinit nice! Thanks for the quick response as well. This video is almost 4 years old but will never NOT be helpful
Hey quick question do I have to remove the thermostat? When doing the flush ?
No
Quick question, if you may. How often should we do this maintenance? Thanks 🙏
I think it’s every 60k miles
@@fixinit My man, thanks for the quick response time 👌 Much appreciated and kuddos to you 🙏
Aren’t you suppose to burp the system by pinching the upper radiator hose to bleed air out?
gladys The system will bleed itself. Just keep adding coolant if you have to.
Ever do this on a 5.7 hemi? Just put a new block in my jeep and can't seem to purge all the air
Never done it but this is what I found out for you:
There are 2 drain plugs. One on each side of the block down and to the rear of the knock sensor. Close to the #5 and #6 cylinders.
But I would think you should purge the air from the top. Try cracking a top hose loose a bit by the block and use a towel to catch the leaking coolant.
I hope this helps. 😎
Is it possible to get to the engine block without removing the tire? You said the engine block might be unnecessary, would it be stupid to just drain and fill the 2 gal of coolant from the radiator rather than the .5 gal in the engine block too? (Side note i believe you should have put .5 gal more due to the engine block after reading the service manual.)
Yes, you can get to it without removing the tire. You can probably skip this step and you’ll be ok.
@@fixinitI appreciate you bro. All of your vids on the pilot have been perfect for a novice like me. Thank you so much!
What Inner diameter tubing is that for the bleed screw?
Did u ever find out?
@@andyl9920 no
Is the flush needed, jw because thats a lot of work.
You’ll probably be fine just draining and topping off with new coolant.
Does the tank lift that easily on a Honda pilot 2007 as well? Mine feels pretty difficult to lift?
If it’s not bolted, it should lift right up.
Will this work for a 2004?
Yes. Engines are basically the same 3.5 V6
If you want to get the rest of the coolant out. Just start the car for a few seconds. :)
Why bother emptying the block if you are gonna run distilled water thru it anyway? Wouldn’t you only wanna empty the block to get the distilled water out
7205buttas The idea is to get as much of the old stuff out before flushing. Like I said on the video, you can prob skip that whole thing and still be ok.
Fixin It if you empty through the drain but then fill it with water and run the heat when you drain it again most of that would come out. I’d say just do it a third time to be safe.
How much coolant man
Astral pilot Two Gallons. Make sure it’s a 50/50 mix. Don’t pour straight antifreeze in there.
@@fixinit thank you!
Fixin It hey thanks for the video, i came here looking for the block drain and thanks to you i now know where it is!
Replacing the radiator due to a leak and both hoses on my 2011 pilot along with a full coolant drain and refill.
Abq Xyz Thanks. Glad it helped you. 😎
