There is an additional slot further back on the hood closer to the windshield. You can put the prop rod into that hole and the hood opens a lot more for working on it.
This is awesome. I remember my dad complaining when he had to change my oil or anything on my Prelude back in the day. He didn’t like doing it bc it was hard to get to everything. Small areas for large hands. I’m glad they listened over the years and made it easy. Thank you!
I bought a new 2017 Honda Pilot EX L AWD in 2018. I love it. I go to a very good Lube shop for all oil changes. They wanted $90.00 for just the engine air filter. I ran down to my local auto parts store and got it much cheaper. Just bought both the engine and cabin air filters and paid $46.00 and it just takes a few minutes to change them.
Awesome!! Really awesome! I'm shopping for one right now, looking at my first one tomorrow. This is what I needed to ensure they are talking straight. Thank you.
Very helpful vid ! I just bought a 2019 pilot looking for vids to educate myself to do my own maintenance very few vids out there ! So if you do any maintenance on your family’s Pilot please post ! Thanks in advance !!
@@EverydayJ1786 oh ok...on the block not the radiator. Better always to drain from the block. Too late for me. I had it done professionally. Darn....maybe next 60,000
Fuel filter is not serviceable its in tank .think lat 90s they stopped fuel filters in hondas .my 98 accord didn't have one v6 and 4 and my 99 accord 2000 accord and 08 crv didn't have one either that was serviceable and my 2020 pilot is in tank
@@jesterxfan Thank you, my 2018 Ridgeline is my 9th Honda and I spent an hour looking for the Power Steering Reservoir when doing my Fluid Service. Drove me nuts.
My 2017 ridgeline transmission needed replaced at 52,500 miles. So, everyone better change transmission fluid every 20,000 miles. I'm very disappointed with the 2017 model. Anyone else out there thats had similar problems?
I have a 2016 Honda Pilot, my transmission is fine. A transmission sensor went about 130k miles. I brought it a transmission price and charged me about $1,000 to change it. They claim they did all sorts of fancy diagnostics to see if the transmission was damaged and changed the transmission fluid to a fancy synthetic but I think they just ripped me off, a regular mechanic would have just replaced the sensor.
My 2017 Pilot is pressurizing the transmission dipstick tube and eventually launching the entire dipstick out while I’m driving….any ideas? Clogged vent tube? I haven’t found the vent yet.

Great video. You can only glean so much from the diagrams in the owners manual. Nice to see how engine bay items are accessed real world.
I have a hard time returning the cover of the engine, coz you cannot see the knob, how did you do it ?

Great simple video....cannot find any info on draining and replacing the coolant. Looks like upper and lower covers need to be removed. Can you help?
There is a coolant drain on the side of the engine block above the oil filter
