I thought this was going to a video explaining how to choose the right laptop in 2025. Instead, we got an ad for Intel. Shame on you, at least don't clickbait us like that!
In order for a laptop to truly be a desktop replacement, manufacturers need to finally come up with a feature that would turn off the battery during desktop mode so as not to kill it with constant charging.
Same for me. AMD is much better right now. I'm still hoping that Intel will compete again. But they need to focus on efficiency, and ditch Microsoft alliances.
Would the asus EGPU work with supposedly the Zenbook? And run Unreal engine and Blender without being bottlenecked? Or the CPU will be a huge player in this equation?
So what if I own AMD Ryzen USB4 equipped Laptop and connect it to a Thunderbolt Share licensed dock? Will I still be able to share data between a Intel TB4/5 system and a AMD USB4 system?
Dual TB5 is where it's at. One port for the monitors and another for the most possible performance on an eGPU. Hopefully one port supports 3 to 4 monitors with a reasonably high refresh rate at 1440p or 4K, at that point you found the real desktop replacement.
Thanks Ben, lots of useful new information. I'm excited at the notion of having a slim laptop with above-average battery life that with a Thunderbolt 5 port and a Thunderbolt 5 docking station it essentially transforms said laptop into a very respectable replacement dedktop. So Ben, off the top of your head, what are some laptops you'd consider using for this innovative setup? Thanks again!

So when can we expect our first thunderbolt 5 labtop or even better handheld
i disided not to buy any intel prosucts again . Just relized they are many better alternatives there

Yes but it's also not available while also being available so whichever floats my wallet.
I understand TB5 is new tech, but thought I would see recommendations for new TB5 laptops in 2025 on this video, but that was not the case.
Great interview, thank you for the information ❤.
USB doesn't connect to the PCIE only TB4+5 .... then WTF is USB4 or USB4 v2?
There aren't any thin and light thunderbolt 5 available or proposed.
You're right, I was hoping to see some at CES, but we're still waiting. :(
How does it compare to OCUlink?

As soon as I get a XG Mobile and the Zenbook with Thunderbolt 4 I'm going to test it and find out.
