Had a guide for the PvE gearing in BnS requested probably most often above everything else so here it is! It's crazy how hard it is to find info on some of the systems in this game, considering it's been out so long in Korea. So for those of you who can't read Korean I hope this is helpful! Side note: I've said quite a few times already that the PvE leveling in this game is pretty uninteresting. One thing it does do pretty well is having a satisfying boss/dungeon farming setup. Farming Stalker boss and being able to literally double your damage before you move on is pretty satisfying, most MMOs I feel really limit your growth potential while leveling. It was enough to make PvE leveling tolerable for me, someone who typically loathes that aspect of MMOs.
+ZiggyD Gaming at 3:20 how can I get that outfit? am new to the game and ill start playing as soon as I get my new pc, would like to know how to obtain that look, ty
Been waiting for that game since I've seen the first trailer years ago. If they can fix the performance issues, which seem to originate from Dx9 in combination with Win8.1 and mainly Win10, I'm sure I'll have a blast with that game. Fixing the problem shouldn't be too hard, considering the Korean client runs just fine for everyone who has problems with the NA/EU client. Anyway, thanks for your videos Ziggy.
Holy crap I have been nerfing myself.... I like the choice in the Yun/Kun underwear more than half the outfits, so have been running around in just that, didnt know my stats took a hit from doing that...
Thanks for the video! This has helped me and my friends :) We followed the story and Checked your video from time to time! Sub and like :) Good luck with future vids
I saw that you weren't partied up for the field boss toward the end there. I assume that since you're rewarded based on your participation mob tagging doesn't really come into pla on these. But how does mob tagging work in the rest of the game? Is it first damage first serve? most damage? everybody gets some (ala Guild Wars 2)?
+CarBENbased Yeah on field bosses as long as you do some damage you'll get some credit. (like 2 essence, 5ish for doing the most damage). Tagging works on a % of mob health I believe, if you do enough damage even if they hit it first you'll get credit. Drops might go to the original tagger though im not 100%
Hi Ziggy, I have one question. Are you sure about the Arena PvP ? Maybe it's different in the US/EU Version, but in the russia version there is a huge difference in the 1v1 arena depents on your gear. A player with high quality gear has like the double amount of HP and damage compared to a player who fresh hit level 45. I don't know how this works in the original korean version, this is the reason why I'm curious. Keep up your good work, kind regards. Pai
+Pai Imas MMD Subchannel (Pai1337) yep, 100% sure gear has no impact in arena. Everyone is scaled to have the same stats (balanced for their class). Most people use a broken weapon for PvP to save on repair costs.
I didn't get a Hongmoon weapon at the beginning of the game(from Dochun I think). I even played again with a new character but no weapon.. is that because of a new patch or something or will I get the weapon somwhere else now?
Ziggy if I understand things correctly, the game is currently not playable for the next 2 weeks until the next closed beta, (regardless of whether you purchased a founders pack or not) so we are going to have to wait until then for more videos correct?
I started playing for the first time yesterday and I didn't get rewarded my hongmoom weapon did I do something wrong I have a quest positive reinforcement but no upgradeable weapon
hello! so I got some sort of "forum gold" from d2jsp forum, which I can exchange for about 600 gold in blade and soul. how far can I go with that amount of gold? how much does it take to max a chars equips only through the auction house? :)
+Tommy Carter Deeper fighting game styled combat and very competitive PvP. The PvE in GW2 is probably better though so if that is your main interest then B&S might not really be for you.
+RaVeN1K You still need levels for skills and skill points so you need to at least level some of the way in PvE. You get XP for winning in arena though so you can level through PvP. I'd suggest getting to like level 25 or so before you start taking PvP seriously (which takes less than 10 hours).
+11Anti11 If you like PVE i wouldn't recommend it, seems way more PVP oriented and I feel like PVE content will just fade away on it eventually. I hesitated between this and FFXIV. Went with FFXIV since I prefer PVE myself and I don't regret it. 2 weeks in and there's so much to do.
Just what I was looking for. Thanks for that. This isn't the game for me then. I just wish there was something like D3 with more content, tried POE and didn't like the pay to win mechanic NolifeXTC
+MrKapucyn It's not necessarly p2w but if you plan on going far into the game then you HAVE to pay to get to that point since you only start with 4 stash tabs and paying is the only way to get more. and I don't think everyone wants to fill up their character slots for stash mules especially since we barely have any inventory space on characters.
When the hell is Devilian gonna be a game we could play? I bought a Founder's Pack for it, but servers are down and only go up for 4 days at a time at absolute random :(
+OH MY FLAVOURS Yes, not only is it the law to clearly disclose on every piece of promotional content but I also think it is super important. You never know when someone is randomly going to stumble across any one of these videos without having seen any of my other content - and they deserve to know that it's part of a sponsorship arrangement!
+habib ksontini you'd play the PvE and gear up in it to do PvE content. If you're not interested then all you need to do is level enough to start getting a decent amount of wins in PvP and you can level the rest of the way through PvP ignoring PvE Gearing.
+Rena Chu Yep. You can use them if you want but you can also feed them to your main weapon and watch it grow more powerful/change. Some people really like it and others not so much. I think you can use the cosmetic of any weapon and apply it to your own, Ill have to test that next beta. Because that'd make up for the art not changing very often and it'd add another reason to collect weapons.
+ZiggyD Gaming Yeah, you can use the Glamor tab in the Evolve window and change the look of your weapon, including the Hongmoon one. Just like the Evolve option, it consumes the item used.
looking at the characters here......I feel that the males are severely disadvantaged when it comes to costumes......all the male characters I saw here just look so.....drab...... I know where all the budget went :/ Kinda sad.
+Donavon Ho well, yeah. MMO's are marketed to young adult/adult males. theyre already a guy, why would they want to play one for multiple hours at a time. if youre going to stare at a pixel ass, generally speaking, youll want to stare at one that is pleasing to look at. most of the time, that is not an ass that matches your own.
the soapy tits jiggle like it's Dead or Alive. I have a question also about the weapon progression. Is it grindy as shit? Also, if yes, can you bypass the grind with real cash?
+Ola Sarcasm From what I've experienced so far (leveling to 30ish, max is 45 apparently it doesn't take too long to max level in this game) no, it's not grindy. Actually, early on at least it's a bit short lived though I may just be lucky as several times I got my evolution weapons first go. I would settle in to farm a boss for a while and would have everything I needed within 10-20 mins. I think, generally speaking, the PvE in this game is not very grindy at all. Which is good, because a lot of people only care about the PvP and might see leveling as a chore to get out of the way. So good thing you can do it in a few days. (side note: kind of just wish you had an option to have a max level char that can only PvP, though I understand the PvE is important for teaching how to play each class). Can't comment on endgame gear progression yet - I'll try and test endgame PvE in one of the upcoming betas.
+Ola Sarcasm Currently yes it can be bypassed by cash, but they said that the cash shop is only giving players easier progression so that they can test more things. The shop will be changed on release so we won't know if that will change as well.
There is too much unecessary complexity in gearing and progression in these korean mmmo games. WOW was great because it was basic. Kill said boss get Said epic gear. Kill higher level Boss get Better gear. No brainer for the noobs. here its go here fight this drops this to spin this to get this essence to convert to this and evolve that and if your completely confused now then you are probably on the right track to a epic weapon.
Lets just say if it weren't for the awesome combat system which i believe its the best combat system in any MMMO to date. Id have no reason to stick around. Crafting is Bloody awful and those stupid soul shields they just clog up your inventory and are just so boring, whats the point in even getting weapon drops when there just used as stat upgrade fodder. Anyway thats just my opinion all good
+Snooze00 wep drops can be used to change ur weps apperance, the soul shields in ur inventory u can salvage them to get a material letting u feed unused soulshields to ur current soul shields.
+Marijn Zwitserloot will be checking up when it fully released Tnx :3

+shadoboy gaming 100% confirmed f2p with a cash shop for costumes, character growth stuff, appearance tickets and etc. It will be possible to buy premium for some aditional benefits, faster character growth, some cool visual effects but that's about it. 0 money is required to enjoy the game ( well not counting a decent PC to be able to have smooth gameplay.)

Never watched one of your vids before, big respect for being transparent with the paid content. More youtubers should be upfront about it
Thanks for being clear that this is a sponsored video. I have no issues with it. Wish more RUclipsrs and "gaming journalists" are open like this.
Cool stuff. I actually thought of the fusing concept when making my own arpg idea sheet. Great to see a system like this coming to an actual game!
Got to love the End scene with the destroyer animation canceling...
I think I surpassed my daily calorie limit just by watching this video.
I remember the preview to the pizza section on stream. Laughed just as hard in this video as I did then.

+Pai Imas MMD Subchannel (Pai1337) I can second this. Stats are 100% normalized for all players at all levels, it's the same in KR and JP as well.
just when i finally dissuaded myself from wasting money ordering pizza...
10/10 would pizza again
+hydroUNIT Pizza analogy was a perfect 5 out of 7.
+Berelore gosh guys its 8/8 pizza again
I didn't get a Hongmoon weapon at the beginning of the game(from Dochun I think). I even played again with a new character but no weapon.. is that because of a new patch or something or will I get the weapon somwhere else now?
such a boss ziggyD!
thx alot man
Man you really put the pizza thing in the video, thought it was a joke XD
This video has passed it expiry date. No more Hongmoon weapons...
I salvaged my soul eating weapon
Ziggy if I understand things correctly, the game is currently not playable for the next 2 weeks until the next closed beta, (regardless of whether you purchased a founders pack or not) so we are going to have to wait until then for more videos correct?
+Glardok yes, next beta i on the 11th. Servers are down until then.
Correct, next beta is dec 11. Bit I has another video coming! A blade dancer guide, I should already have all the footage I need to make it!
+ZiggyD Gaming Thank you both...looking forward to the BD guide.
+ZiggyD Gaming
> dec 11th
so will you be doing this or the new PoE expac?
im not even signed up for the beta here, and im torn on which i would do.
ThePiscesMended
I'll just start the PoE league a few days late, no biggie :)
What would make me want to steer away from GW2 and play this? Is this any better in any area?
+Tommy Carter Deeper fighting game styled combat and very competitive PvP. The PvE in GW2 is probably better though so if that is your main interest then B&S might not really be for you.
Will this game be free to play when it releases, or should I just get the founders pack?
+Jesse Yarbrough Free to play at launch on Jan 19th yeah.
Anyone know if the early set of accessories are the ones you use for the end game?
So... no pizza and no gems in PvP? This means i can just never do pve if i don't want to?
Or is it just the gear that gets scaled in pvp?
+RaVeN1K You still need levels for skills and skill points so you need to at least level some of the way in PvE. You get XP for winning in arena though so you can level through PvP. I'd suggest getting to like level 25 or so before you start taking PvP seriously (which takes less than 10 hours).
pizza pizza pizza pizza pizza cheese :3 pizza pizza... I want a pizza now dont know why?! Kappa
if i sold the hongmoon weapon so i need to start over or there trade or something like that to help me get it back?
if you haven't figured it out yet, you can buy it again for valor stones in jadestone
Idk what happened but I don't seem to have my hongmoon weapon... what should I do??
Hello???
the pvp is based if you are lyn blade dancer or not.
I love this pizza guide xD
were you find hongmon weapon
what if i accedently dropped the hangmoon weapon?
this looks just like TERA!
+fdjw88 I definitely shares some similarities to TERA, especially in it being recognized for it's combat.
FlurrflePurrf
Very true!
they were a same team. Tera dev were in NCsoft, creator of Lineage2. They got a fight and then separated. Tera supposed to be Lineage3 though
+saributr s them being the same team is irrelevent, bns is not made by ncsoft
Jasper Ian I didn't know that. Thank you pal.
does this game require high specs?
Ive been looking for a MMO where I can stick in a lot of hours, it's winter here now so not much else to do. Is this game actually any good ziggy?
+11Anti11 Of course not. It's Asian.
+11Anti11 You're dumb if u say PoE has Pay to win mechanics. Here i end my talk.
When you remove gems do you get to keep them or not? :3
+Mokona iirc you do keep them
ZiggyD Gaming iirc?
Mokona
if I recall correctly
ZiggyD Gaming Ty ^.^
i thing i must ask, will it be f2p after beta? or is it p2p game?
Free to play at launch, which is jan 19
Where can I get a Gem Hammer?
When the hell is Devilian gonna be a game we could play? I bought a Founder's Pack for it, but servers are down and only go up for 4 days at a time at absolute random :(
+UglyStru Open beta starts in like a day and headstart/launch is on the 8th of december.
Will this be an actual opening? Or will it only be temporary?
+UglyStru Actual launch is the 10th, fully open to everyone.
God dammit, I wish I knew that before I dropped money on it. Oh well, I guess I got some other cool benefits. Thanks for disclosing that info, mate.
+UglyStru No offense, but how did you even buy the founders pack without knowing the release date, its the first thing in their front page after all.
Ziggy, why pizza?
...Im hungry.
Who sponsored this? Dominos?
Everything was easy to understand until the pizza part. @_@ Now i'm hungry
Do you have to say it's a paid promotion on every video?
+OH MY FLAVOURS Yes, not only is it the law to clearly disclose on every piece of promotional content but I also think it is super important. You never know when someone is randomly going to stumble across any one of these videos without having seen any of my other content - and they deserve to know that it's part of a sponsorship arrangement!
i lost my hongmoon sword
?i can take another
Where can i get Unsealing Charms? ive none
You can buy them from the marketplace or a merchant. Also in some quests and daily spins
hey can i make my own weapon in blade and soul
then why would i even play pve if all will have same stats in pvp?
+habib ksontini you'd play the PvE and gear up in it to do PvE content. If you're not interested then all you need to do is level enough to start getting a decent amount of wins in PvP and you can level the rest of the way through PvP ignoring PvE Gearing.
I threw away all my left over Soul shields :'(
why is a whole pizza called a pizza when only one piece of the pizza is a piece of the pizza?
Idea of the Hongmoon seems really weird. So 99% of weapons in the game is just fodder ?
+Rena Chu Yep. You can use them if you want but you can also feed them to your main weapon and watch it grow more powerful/change. Some people really like it and others not so much.
I think you can use the cosmetic of any weapon and apply it to your own, Ill have to test that next beta. Because that'd make up for the art not changing very often and it'd add another reason to collect weapons.

PIZZA!
i had pizza for lunch
pizza pizza pizza pizza
Yeah I'll get right not that - as soon has the servers stop disconnecting people >.>
how the fck did u get almost 5000 gold
looking at the characters here......I feel that the males are severely disadvantaged when it comes to costumes......all the male characters I saw here just look so.....drab......

l2ahXeph0n ah, thats too bad. Can't stand models like that tbh. I mean it's cool it's not like anyone is forcing me to play the game :p
+Ola Sarcasm Better than having to pay to progress, imho.
There is too much unecessary complexity in gearing and progression in these korean mmmo games. WOW was great because it was basic. Kill said boss get Said epic gear.
