- I had this annoying rattle in my dashboard finally I decided to investigate and came up with this fix. It hasn't come back since! It's actually an airbag under the dash so don't be too rough with it!

Oh my goodness. My rattle has been driving me crazy for two months. I finally had enough and this is the first video I clicked on to try to solve it. Sure enough, my rattle is in the same place. Thank you so much!
You're welcome, glad I could help!
@@DanVilla7 I tried wiggling it, pushing it back and forth and pushing it upwards but the same sound persists. For sure thats where the sound is coming from though.
@@isaaca.7732 please note that it's an airbag so don't bang on it. It's the metal hangers that are actually making the sound
I just got a 2021 Accord and noticed a rattle/buzz similar to what you were describing. I took your advice and kinda massaged my airbag a bit and could feel it sorta settling into its mount. Lo and behold, no rattle on my way to work today. Thank you for making this video!
Awesome!
Hey Dan, I came here to THANK YOU buddy for making this video. I just bought a 2022 Accord Sport Hybrid and that rattle was driving me crazy and dealing with a dealer is useless (they never find anything). Simple, I did what you recommended me and rattle is gone! Thanks man!
No problem! I appreciate you taking time to thank me and let me know it helped you!
I live in Karachi Pakistan I like your comments
Ohh mann I’ve been looking for the source of this rattle for weeks and it drives me absolutely crazy anytime I drive my Civic! I hope I can fix mine! Thanks for the short and useful video
What year civic is it? My 17 civic si coupe is doing it and im soooo annoyed 😂
I had the exact rattle/vibration in my 2021 Accord Sport. Mine too was the black rectangular plastic box. 10 sec fix!! Thank you for helpful video!!
What exactly did you do with the box? Pull on it?
I'm gonna check mine in the morning. Can't handle it anymore! Dealership wants almost 200 to diagnose. Thanks for giving me hope!
My dealer wanted $600 smh
I also had a periodic rattle at low speed that I was having difficulty locating, believing it was in the dash behind the navigation screen. I checked this suggestion and several others to no avail. However, by a fluke I found mine. It was my sun glasses in the overhead compartment, the drop down has a rubber mat, but the plastic sides have nothing. I put double back foam tape on the front two sides and left the one sided protection cover in place and that was it.
Really traced my Rattles thanks bro been looking to find for last six months👍
Unbelievable 😫 can’t believe that really stopped the noise.Thank you soooo much
Wow man, I have been dealing with this for about a month now and had this exact same problem, I have a 2022 accord. Thank you 🙏🏽
I had the same problem except the cover has wiggle room, dealer added felt. Couple months later the passenger side started doing the same thing.
Bro!!! You saved my sanity - it’s the same for 2021 as well. Thank you !!!!
Hahah I feel you man, I felt the same way! Glad I could help!
Same smh. I have a 21 and that rattling was driving me nuts like the videomaker said
Actually there were more rattle sounds which come from my car like seatbelt mechanism , left door piano black part and also this sound that you experiences . After i pushed the part it has gone for now . İ am really scaring to hear this idiotic sound i wish i dont have it anymore ! Btw thank you for your support otherwise i was going to hate the car . (2021 honda civic executive plus)
That "black box" is actually the knee airbag. Same rattling noise on a VW, I applied silicone rubber on the metal tabs, those who hold the plastic cover in place, no more rattle.
Thank you. I had pinpointed it down to this knee airbag bc when I tap it rattles. My dealer even replaced the airbag! (Warranty) but it still rattled. I just tried pulling and pushing like you said, so far no rattle on tapping.
Bro! Tap was the ultimate test! Mine rattled with good tap against that black box, but so far pull and pushing on it didn't seem go help much
I've had my 2022 Honda accord about 2 months now and seem to be having the exact same issue in the same area. I'm going to try that fix. Hopefully it works. Thx for the advice. 👍🏽
Dude thank you so much! Been trying to find the cause for that annoying noise on the dashboard for days now! It was driving me crazy too! Never thought it would come from that black box. Appreciate it! Let's hope it doesn't come back.
No problem, it shouldn't. Mine hasn't come back since.
I have this exact same problem went to Honda dealer found nothing today went to my mechanic nothing! Driving me nuts gotta go out in a few hours I’m gonna check this out good advice thanks 🙏🏿
Thank you so much. That super annoying noise is now gone for last three days... I hope ppl try this first before they break more by replacing heat box....
Awesome glad I could help!
@dan Villa, so after watching your video for my 21 Accord Sport 2.0 I took it one step further and put a strip of insulation tape between the air bag and the plastic trim to seal the gap between them too.
Thank you! Saved me hours and lots of sanity
You're welcome!
I just noticed it today on my new 2.0 accord. I wanted to pull over and stop in the highway. Couldn’t stand it!! Gonna check and see. Hopefully it’s the same issue
Another source of buzzing and rattle was the plastic cover infront of it under the steering. There is some metal between the plastic black box and the cover creates that kind of rattle. I fixed it by sandwiching some foam inserts between and now I can confirm that mine is rattle free.
could you upload a video please
I have this same rattle in the same area in my 2022 Accord LX. I'm going to try this. Thanks!
There is a little metal plate down by your right foot (side panel) near the gas pedal..... That fix my issue I had for years... The sound travel to the dash
Can't unsee the all those tiny dusts flying through the ray of shine
BRO THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!! That little was driving me crazy
You got it man!
Thank you sooooooo much exact same issue with my 2016 Malibu it was driving me nuts
Glad I could help... I guess it's nit isolated to Accords lol
Thank you for this video. I'm hopeful now.
You're welcome!
i think that black box under the steering wheel is connected with other plastic parts on the dashboard thats why it sounds like its coming from ac vents.
Thanks, just heard it for the 1st yesterday
Well I found the problem on my 2015 crv. On top of the spare tire was a tire change kit containing few metal pieces to change the tire I guess. Those were wrapped in a plastic pouch etc. I'll ways felt the the noise came from the passenger side but tried everything with no luck until this. Finally there is no noise anymore. I wrapped the metal tools individually in cloth so no more noise.
I have a Civic from 17 and there is a damn rattle/buzz in the dashboard😵💫😨
Can anybody help me solve this problem?🤞🙏
I'm going to check this out in my 2019 CR-V. I have a metallic-sounding rattle that also resonates from the left vent area. I thought it might be the heater core, but not 100%.
any luck finding a solution? Left vent drives me nuts...
Tap on that black box, if it rattles ull know its the cause! Mine rattled, give it a good tap
I had plastic squeaking noise from my accord 1.5 2022, dealer fixed it by wrapping foam tap around plastic buttons that holds center console from inside, it was so annoying whenever it goes over sharp bump
Bro. Thank you. I have the same rattling problem.
No problem!
Going to try this. I have a vibrating noise that seems to come from all over like that. Hard to believe it could be coming from down low because it sounds more like middle/high/left but my God I hope this works because its driving me crazy.
Did you fix that bro?
mine’s a 2018 honda civic and sometimes it make raddling or ticking noise right at the center of the steering wheel, so i wonder if this car must’ve been involved in an accident and they didn’t install a new airbag properly
I’m having this issue with my 2023 acura intergra, could it be the same issue?
Wow, thanks for the video
I have a 2.0 2022 and it’s giving me a ticking noise as well. everytime i accelerated or hit a slight bump it would just tick tick tick im gonna try what you just said and see if it changes
Worked for my 2024 SI noise was driving me crazy and in the same area described went under found that same piece noise is gone
Bro thank you so much that rattle was driving me insane too haha
Haha you got it!
@@DanVilla7 fuck bro it came back any suggestions?
There is a little metal plate down by your right foot (side panel) near the gas pedal..... That fix my issue I had for years... The sound travel to the dash
Thanks for the tip 👍
I have this sound exactly! But I don't have the black box. What should I do?
Uhhh. This fixed mine as well. Hahaha Thank youuuuuu! 👍 👍 👍
I bought 2021 sports 1.5 se, just 3 weeks ago, had a same issue
Brooooo !!!!!!!!!!!! naaaa nooo way did that shit just work .. your a genius 😅😅😅
I have this exact rattle in my 2018 that is driving me crazy. I’ve tried pulling, pushing on the box; this temporarily fixes it for a few bumps then it comes back. I finally had the dealer “look” at it and they said it was normal. They said the tech took the cover off and put it back on and said nothing was wrong; beyond infuriating.
did you fix or still?
There is a little metal plate down by your right foot (side panel) near the gas pedal..... That fix my issue I had for years... The sound travel to the dash
I think that all Japanese car manufacturers has a same problem,,back till 2018...,mine is with Mazda 6 2021, in the simillar place. Till now, I did¨t have any problems, but I think all of them starts to have a poor quality since then.
Thanks dude hopefully this is the issue. It’s been driving me fucking insane. The other noise is when it’s parked once the engines warm I’m hearing a chirping noise. Idk what it is.
No problem! The chirping could be a bad belt to tensioner
Thanks 🙏
The rattle is actually coming from the foot vent plastic to the right of that black box cover, it would appear to probably be that area but sounds travel, it took me a while to pinpoint exactly where it was coming from, what a pain in the ass, right at about 1100 to 1200 rpm it vibrates, if you put your hand on it when it vibrates it stops, plastic just snaps together, and is screwed to dash underneath, tough to fix. Its a plastic 2 peice vent prone to vibration, would have to come up with a custom fix, exopy, foam tape , etc, my 2018 does it every time at exactly 1100 to 1200 rpm, nothing is broken or wrong with it either and it doesn't do it every time thank goodness but I still can't stand it and want it silenced
I get a rattle in the dash over small bumps or right when I turn the Hvac on. Drives me nuts!! I hope this fixes my issue.
There is a little metal plate down by your right foot (side panel) near the gas pedal..... That fix my issue I had for years... The sound travel to the dash
Dog, I will try it. Getting the "buzzing" noise in my dash of 2021 Civic Ex!
I have a lot of rattle noise coming from different parts in my 2023 civic touring , I HATE those noise, I'm seriously thinking about spend all my savings and change to bmw
I have a 2020 TLX base model that makes the same rattle from that area. Only when I’m stopped tho soon as I come off the brake it stops. I will see if this is it.
Did it help ??
Hi bro,
I have accord coupe 2008 in saudi, i’m facing some rattling on dashboard while taking jump or road ties. But I couldn’t found the issue. Please help
I personally don't have any experience with your model. I wish I could direct you in the right direction. All I can say is keep trying to replicate the noise and lock in on where its coming from then try to put pressuer on the area and see if it stops and go from there. Best of luck
I took mine in last week for this issue was getting noise from the hud area and cluster, they just put new foam piece and an updated part. 2 days later noise came back again. taking it back to the dealer tomorrow.
That stinks. Did you try what doing I did? Mine sounded like it was coming from that same area
i tried, it's definitely coming from the hud area and cluster. it's a known issue with the touring models
when i hold down the top of the cluster the rattle/squeak goes away, once i let it go. then it comes back
i let it slide for about a good 6 months cause i be having my music blasting, so i can't hear it.
we shall see tomorrow afternoon when i take it in.
Ahhh, that would drive me crazy. Hope you get it sorted out.
Dan Villa
Yeah its crazy. Happens when it gets too hot. When its cold doesnt make the noise.
Ill definitely keep u updated
SAPPY did you ever find out what was wrong? I am having the same problem
indeed, its drive me crazy to,that noise
Dash rattle starts when I get up to 40 miles and above. I have the same symptoms he described. Not affected by going over bumps. Anyone out there ever have that and found out the cause??
There is a little metal plate down by your right foot (side panel) near the gas pedal..... That fix my issue I had for years... The sound travel to the dash
Just saying, that's an airbag so be careful if you're pulling lol
At the time, I didn't know what it was...hahaha. Doesn't require much pushing or pulling just enough to stop the buzzing rattling noise.
I have the same problem im going to try this I took my car to my dealership and they could’ve done anything or it will go anyways every time I took it to them but as soon as I left it will start again it will stop and go anyway at first I thought it was my engine but my car is new 22k miles
we have a "rattle" coming from the dash on the passenger side corner under the windshield. sort of sounds like two large marbles clinking together every time the road is bumpy. it's driving me insane!
Did you figure it out? We have the same thing on our new odyssey 🫠
@@jacf7333 yes. it was our windshield cowl
What did you do with the windshield cowl to make it go away? This sounds like the same exact issue I’m having :/
@@Mid3hunna needed to get the part replaced. The plastic cowl that sits below the windshield outside. The vehicle is what was flapping around.
One of the clips was broke so it wasn't sitting flush. Once they replaced it, the sound went away.
How did you know it was the windshield cowl that was causing it? Just so I can ensure it’s also coming from there & dont end up replacing that part in case it was coming from elsewhere the whole time🤣
I’ve been having an insane amount of rattling coming from the drivers foot well and a passenger door is been going on for about a half a year already driving me insane.
I don't know if it will fix your door, but try putting some silicone grease on the door rubber seals. It may fix the door vibration sound

I got a dam rattle to sounds like it’s bye the hood . It sucks
I feel your pain...would drive me crazy
Brother I have 2020 honda accord and only 3300km driven and clicking sound coming from driver seat plz reply that it is known fault or not
Not that I know of
i have a Honda Accord Sport 2015 and i have a noise inside in the dashboard when im driving. i have days trying to find a solution but still havent found it. Please if anyone knows what is the cause of that noise i would really appreciate it.
Have you figured it out yet? I’m having the same issue.
My rattle sounds like it’s coming fr the glove box. Anyone deal with that?
Same here in my 2015 Accord Coupe gonna try this tmmrw.
Thanks, but mine is coming from the passengers side/transmission. It only happens at 3,000rpm and it follows the rpms so. 2021 Accord 2.0t with 500 miles on it.
Same for me did you manage to find what it is ?
@@wasayable no, The dealer refused to address the problem and it still rattles to this day. Seems to get worse and warmer weather
That "black box" is an airbag. Tighten the 2 10mm bolts on either side. Terrible
Yes I'm aware, it's an old video
I have a honda accord 2021 and whenever i push that. It stops rattling. Wow thank you.
👍
Ok I hut the thing you said and it still going I think it got worse what’s the best step I should do next if anyone one could help me it drives me crazy
Do not hit it! Its an airbag. You can try to gently pull it down a little. That may help
@@DanVilla7 I will try that thank you
I have a rattling noise behind the steering wheel only when the car is cold and the rpm is around 1500 to 1800 , after driving it for 5 min the noise disappear . Anyone has an advise ?
Maybe try moving your steering wheel up and down as well as forward and back. Could be something inside touching?
Is this the buzzing that sounds like it's coming from the driver side tweeter?
Nope
I have the driver side tweeter area rattle in my 2019 Insight. No idea how to fix.
That stinks something like that would drive me crazy. Try pulling the door panel off and see if there is anything loose in that area
@@DanVilla7 Unfortunately I’m not that handy. The car is still under warranty but I worry once they start tearing things apart that they will create new problems.
Mine is coming from behind the AC vent and it’s driving me insane. It makes me not want to drive my new Accord 😡
You sound just like me.. I can totally relate
Its under warranty take it in.
I got rattle around the plastic area under my rear windshield 🤔
Its a common place to get rattling. Some sound deading or foam would get rid of it. Mine only rattles/buzzes because I added a JL sub. Otherwise mines pretty solid no rattling.
God fooking bless thank you!
Hahah you're welcome! I can sense your relief....
@@DanVilla7 yes. Sometimes I just wanna drive in peace and silence.. the way you described it too 💯 I looked in the vent and all up top too lol
I have not experienced nothing like that
Your buzzing noise when accelerating?
It was more present while the car was just rolling around 25mph
@@DanVilla7 hmm thats weird does your car have that noise when over the bumps?
Mine is doing that now, a buzzing noise when accelerating
@@Jeanet.Stephenson fuck that noise im screwed it . Very tired
@@Jeanet.Stephenson passenger side in console area right?
The air bag you mean?
Yes
I get rattle after cold start and then while driving for next 5-10 mins. After the engine warms, the rattle stops. On bumpy road I hear it mildly, sounds something is loose...any suggestion. Here the video I recorded.
ruclips.net/video/9JGkxDXs400/видео.html
Oh wow can definitely hear that. I couldn't tell from a video. Havw you had someone rev it for you and look under the hood? Are you sure its definitely coming from the interior?
@@DanVilla7 I had rattles from Central console, dealership replaced heater box as they said. Then now getting this rattle. It happens from cold starts, when the car is off for 3-4 hours. Do you hear some sound from engine when it starts, not like the rattle in video. My dealership said that sound is normal. But I am curious, if that's the case.
@@motorg756 No so far that was the only rattle/buzzing noise I had, thank God. Hasn't come back since I located the problem.
