finally someone who can reinvent rock and roll the composition is amazing. Every sound is poetry is so surreal,psychedelic, heavy, electric and robotic. There are very few masters of the electric guitar and John 5 is among them. We are in the presence of a master a god who has blessed us with such a unique experience.

It wouldn't be that hard, TBH. The rhythm section just needs to be solid, and here, a little creative. There are tons of pairings like that playing in the music universe. I'm not hating at all. Just saying that his backing band only needs to be good. These guys MIGHT be supremely awesome, but they don't need to be to play his music: poppy, gritty and with just enough creativity to not sound like 50% of the people playing the same sorta stuff. Just my opinion.

When you get a couple guys that damn good around each other, it goes one of two ways. They may try their damnedest to outdo one another. That's usually a bad idea and leads to nothing worth working through. I have found that when I get the really good players who are humble and ambitious around each other, they go the other way, they lay back and try to create the weirdest but coolest thing. They tend to push off-kilter ideas and want to lock in and be part of the energy. I see a bit of the former at first, and then the weird. The weird is what we want, because listening to the same boring shit is just same boring shit, and I ain't got time to waste listening to same boring shit.

Telecasters rule. The 'J5' is an EPIC model. I love the frost gold finish. I took my black Squier Contemporary HH Tele and reconfigured it to replicate the J5. I had already installed a mirrored pickguard before I saw the J5. I installed Dimarzio pups; Super Distortion in the bridge & PAF in the neck and wired it like a Jazz Bass; no pickup selector. The sucker SCREAMS but it can also whisper. Can't wait to run it through the Randall RG1003H head I ordered yesterday. Many thanks to John for showing the world that you can shred on a Tele.
