    Mt. Ida is a favorite of ours. The beautiful views in all directions, at times the Big Horn Rams, Marmot City, Looking down at the lakes in the gorge, miles on the alpine tundra. We very much appreciate your videography and production qualities you provide. Thanks again for taking us along.

      Is that rocky part called Marmot City? Also thanks for joining Patreon! I really appreciate it. :)

      @@nicksangetta8874 Yes - the rocky outcropping where many marmot hang out. My wife and I long ago dubbed it Marmot City, our name for it.

    Well, nothing like doing our grand finale of Emmaline Lake……and then doing an encore hike to Mt. Ida! What a super way to officially end our summer hiking season. It was epic, as usual and such a beautiful day. Can’t beat the views all along this hike. I swear, you can see forever! I love the mountains!! Thank you for all the hikes you took me on and I look forward to many more. ❤

    I love Nick and his videos--the focus on this region has taught me a lot. I just put in for Crater Lake / Lone Eagle Peak for June 5, my first foray into your territory (other than having climbed Longs Peak, and hiking North Inlet/Tonahutu Creek in RMNP back in the 80s for my honeymoon).

    I love having your videos on full screen with dual screen on google earth. It really helps to understand the area .

    Thank you for the video Nick. Did Mount Ida summit for the first time on Tuesday August 30th. There was little or no wind that day on the way up or at the summit. It was a fun hike and enjoyed the view from the top in the morning. Ignored the info on all trails and every time there was a fork always went right. A path most of the way with not much in way of boulder crossings.

    Your videos always inspire and amaze me. I'm so in love with RMNP, and I miss it dearly when I'm not there. Your channel allows me to live vicariously through your epic hikes. Thanks brother for keeping the content coming. Hope to hike with you someday!

    Amazing views all around. I'm in Florida but camped at Lake Dillion in Colorado this summer. Colorado is amazing especially Rocky's 👍

    Mt. Ida was on my list but sadly we didn't get it done this year. I may be dreaming but I'd like to include Jagor Point too. Love that video and how you show all those beautiful Gorge lakes. Thanks for taking us along on all your adventures!

    • @nicksangetta8874
      @nicksangetta8874  2 года назад +1

      Thank you, Vickie! I dont think adding on Jagor would be too difficult. Its an extra mile or so each way, but not too much gain. Plus you can walk along the edge and look down at the lakes most of the walk.

      @@nicksangetta8874 I wish there was a trail from Forest Canyon up to those lakes. I know others bushwack and some come down from above. You could do that. Your down climbing is dialed in. I always seem to find the lose rocks. When you did Cracktop, that was quite a traverse.

    The views were amazing,you had a perfect day for that hike! I think we could do that hike if we were able to get accumalted to the elevation! Looks like it would be a little sketchy in the winter time though. Thanks for sharing as always.

    • @nicksangetta8874
      @nicksangetta8874  2 года назад +1

      Thanks, Lauren! That area holds snow for a long time. In the spring there is usually more snow at the bottom than up on the ridge, so the beginning part is rough. But Im not sure if that road is open on the west side in the winter. I dont think you will be able to go that far up. Trail Ridge is now closed for the season.

      @@nicksangetta8874 Thanks for the info Nick, we probably would never be there when there was snow anyways! Mt Ida seems like its a doable hike for beginner hikers, the hill looked rough but doable an probably would take us longer but it would be worth it just for the views even if we only made it to Marmot rocks area!

      @@laurenbouchie2394 The beginning is bad because it has the steps, but that last mile and 900 ft gain is the worst. Our pace really slowed on that part. But the higher you go the prettier it gets!

      I thought that Pawnee Pass was going to be our last big hike, but we were able to squeeze one more in. We are still gonna hike just wont be able to access the epic ones in winter. At least not around here. I got some Utah trips planned for early next year. Gonna keep the footage going!
