I got into CGS yesterday!! It was not what I wanted/expected but I definitely am interested! BU is my dream school, so I am happy to have been admitted somehow!

I was in a similar situation, BU was my dream school and I was taken by surprise with my acceptance into CGS! It ended up being the best decision ever for me personally though! Congratulations on your acceptance and best of luck making a decision!

In your BU short answer essays did you ever mention CGS?

    • @ashleybeato2553

I have a 1390 sat but very low grades do you think I can get it

I think anything is possible! Your grades are important but other things are just as important like extracurriculars and your essay, which is supposed to give them a taste of who you are as a person. If you are strong in other areas (like your sat for example!) I’m sure they’ll consider and hopefully the stronger things will compensate. Best of luck with applying!!!

Hello, I applied to BU and got into CGS. But…idk if that is the college that I want to enter, especially since I wouldn’t be starting until January of next year. Do you know if there are ways to transfer colleges? I don’t want to appear bratty, but I would love to start in the September/fall semester.

Unfortunately that’s not possible! I totally understand how you feel, the way I thought about it is while I’m having fomo in the fall, everyone else is going to have fomo when I’m in London for 6 weeks in the summer 😂😂 tbh London was sooooo worth it, and the gap semester was a great way for me to finally take a break, make some money, travel etc anything that you couldn’t do before cause you were in school. And you won’t be behind at all! You’d graduate at the same time as everyone else. Just some things to consider to help you decide! :)

Hey! its so crazy how fast time flies. I'm a senior in the College of Arts and Science. I was not able to transfer from CGS but honestly it wasn't bad at all. I started during COVID and had the best dorm options (Lived on Bay State in the WISE house). If you are afraid of not making friends (which I was), it was pretty easy once I got on campus and the dynamics are much better since the mask mandate was lifted. The underclassmen are so close now so that will not be an issue for you. I also was able to finish my HUB credits super fast unlike other students in my year but I think they're getting rid of HUB after this year (boo!!!) IK this is such a long comment too but if you are also interested in studying abroad, London was a great experience (even though my year was only able to go for a week) and is when people develop much deeper connections and you are in LONDON!!
If BU is the right school for you, def take the time to travel, work/internships, work on hobbies and genuinely recover from the stress of High School during the Gap semester: Especially the money part since Boston and London are very expensive cities.
But, if you plan to major in business, def make that choice now because you might be behind if you do not declare Spring freshman year which would be your first semester.
      Good Luck!! @@sanjuchacko40

Ashley Beato oh shit thank youuuu I have a 1220 but I took it once and I’m waiting for my scores the second time. However I have like a 97 average and I was worried my SAT would bring me down
