just put a 2x4 back behind the 4x4 at the top and one in front of the 4x4 on the bottom that makes the tailgate sit leaned back and I just put a screw through the top 2x4 just for safety really it will sit in there with nothing but I did the screw where kids wouldn't pull on it and pull it over on them.

the tailgate it self just sits on 5 quarter board.
