Adam Smith is usually an excellent commentator - one of the best - but he let himself down badly here. "Povetkin is still dazed!" (He had completely recovered), "Povetkin's legs look shaky!" (no they don't) "Povetkin is taking big gulps of air, is he tiring?" (Povetkin on his toes, fresh as a daisy). Nothing wrong with rooting for the British fighter, but this commentary was delusional. At least call the fight that's actually happening in front of you, not how you would LIKE it to be going.

I totally agree with you mate. But if I am honest, he's always sounded this way to me. I watched this fight live and remember thinking the exact same as you did. There was another fight that he and I think Richie Woodhall or someone like that were commentating calling the action, and Malignaggi was also part of the team, and it was biased and political, that Malignaggi called them out on it live on air basically saying "what fight are you watching". The pair of them reacted like they'd just been told off by their mum and there was a little bit of silence before they continued on. I find American commentary a lot less biased.

never stood in the ring but was a boxing fan since the Ali Holmes fight. Professional fighters are able to react in a fraction of a second. If you benefit from this talent during defence why cannot control yourself in the offence when you realise that your opponent is more or less defenseless? Frazier showed this against Bugner as far as I remember.

I don't get why sky are trying to make Povetkin look like this monster by saying he is the hardest fighter AJ has faced so far. Saying he is a harder fight than Klitschko. I mean I get that they wanna sell tickets and what not but he is no where near Klitschko. The Klitschko that fought AJ will destroy Povetkin. Easy win for AJ this fight. People talk about how he KO Price and Takam. Takam Got his A*S handed to him by Chisora out of all people. Nothing against Chisora because he is a warrior but he is not on AJ level. First AJ fight I'm not wasting my money going to watch live or paying for on box office in 2 years. AJ will more likely just Jab him out of the fight like he did against takam and parker.

5317985 povetkins “power” is overrated. Let’s not forget that Marco huck( a chinny cruiserweight) took Povetkins best punches and arguably got robbed. And Klitchko was able to completely neutralize Povetkin by simply being big and using his size combined with clinching and a Jab. If AJ boxes like he did against Parker...It’ll be a whitewash over 12.
