David Haye in his prime at cruiserweight was one of the most talented fighters I’ve ever seen. Sad that he took these comeback fights, his legacy was already cemented 🔥
Kind of unfortunate that Bellew career is over. With regard to promoting fights. I think you’re either really good at it or you’re bad at it. He is absolutely brilliant at it because even though a part of me knows that it’s promoting the fight and it’s probably a bit of theatrics I never felt that he was acting or playing a part. The really good self promoters will appear to have genuine hate for their opponent but then backstage be laughing it up with him. Tony was great at it, one of the best.
Love to watch Tony’s fights over again, what a man he is always an under dog never gets the credit he deserves,Tony is fast jabbing and big puncher very good boxing IQ hats of to the man
He blew his right knee out. He keeps saying he was injury free but look at the way his right leg collapses. Then second KD, when he tries to stand on it, it gives out again and he grimaces.
I had a similar feeling watching Tyson. He was so far past it when he fought Holyfield not to mention Lewis. Having watched countless thousands of hours at his best and to see him so one dimensional post prison was heartbreaking. Seeing Haye with no sharpness, no balance, agility and no power was a bit sad also. Although Haye was no Tyson, he was still a fantastic fighter with great attributes at his best but it happens to us all, we get older, then we get old. Boxing is a young fit dedicated mans game.
Steve Bunce also made a great point about Haye, as he'd followed Haye's progression since the amateurs. He said Haye would regularly train with meatheads (bodybuilder types) to look the part, or cross train MMA for "fun". The problem is all that strained his body, especially when you add in the massive toll being a professional boxer takes. Essentially he broke his body down.
iorekby yeah I guess we should’ve seen the writing on the wall with the Fury pullouts. His body was not designed to have more size than his frame could handle. IMO it was a blessing in disguise not fighting fury. At the time I thought Haye would have the power to beat fury but what I didn’t know and no one really did at the time was just how good and how tough physically and mentally fury is. He would’ve crushed Haye. Haye now understands that too as can be seen in his post Fury v Wilder interview. He was good little guy but we all know the saying.
@@H.K.5 That might be the dumbest comment I've ever seen on a boxing video. Yeah, let your opponent know you have an injury in a combat sport that wouldn't be a dumb thing to do. Let Bellew know that you have an injured foot so he can force you to do more moving around the ring, and force you on to your bad side and can work you at distance knowing you can't come in with as much speed as normal, then press forward when you try to back off knowing you can't retreat as quick.
david haye's career and skeleton was destroyed by the various S&C charlatans he's employed his entire career that have him doing nonsensical "explosive" weight lifting which science has shown has no benefit over normal weight lifting while placing extreme amounts of stress on the joints and skeleton. Thus he has a career span like a crossfitter - a few years of absolutely brilliant performance, and then a rapid decline as the injuries and chronic inflammation come home to roost. Sports scientists and phsyios need to do advocacy work to get the S&C industry regulated in the UK and US, so athletes stop getting robbed and victimized by these kooks who do nothing but take a guy who is already performing at an elite level and then take credit for him continuing to perform at an elite level until it all falls down and then they're nowhere to be seen. They certainly won't be admitting fault or changing their ways.
Really insightful comment. The human body has limitation, even in the most gifted athletes. Trainers forget about athlete management and looking after their assets. Haye was a power athlete. Look at Tyson Fury, he’s like a diesel train, he’ll just keep on trucking
Haye obviously way past his best here but still before the knockdown was taking the rounds against Tony. How is Tony gonna fair against Usyk? Never write Tony off but for me this is one step too far.
Lots of comments about the right foot which is clear, but I think the major factor was actually his back. He literally has no rotation on that right hand, crouched low and hardly any of his patented head movement. Tough one to watch but glad he's retired healthy.
I like that at the end when being interviewed Haye was pushed a few times to say if he was injured or not and he said 'No' a few times and just said the better man won when clearly his right leg went again.
I snapped my Achilles six weeks ago, it’s totally crippling. The worst injury I’ve ever had. Zero balance, zero strength. How Haye fought two fights with this injury problem is negligent. No real chance of winning in reality. This is a game of power. Money talks even if he can’t walk! Haye remains a genuine boxing legend. Bellew achieved remarkably great things in the ring. A sad memorial in the circumstances. RIP to Ashley, clearly very loved. 🥊
While it's true that Haye was certainly not at his best physically, I can't help but get the feeling that Bellew is being disrepected in much the same way as Steve Collins. Punchers like Haye and Nigel Benn are maybe seen through rose tinted glasses in a way others are not. Haye, for all his power and explosiveness (which he had tons of) doesn't have a particularly long resume, and was actually quite flat in some of his fights. It's entirely possible that this version of Bellew would have given any version of Haye trouble, just like Steve Collins might have given any version of Nigel Benn trouble. Many people will never admit such things though.
Its such a shame to see potentially one of the best ever curiserweights the UK has ever had, who also moved to heavyweight and kept his skill, power, to completely break down and crumble. I had high hopes for him in this fight but it goes to show you cannot play boxing, injuries and old age will break you down.
David Haye’s entrance was real good. The whole arena was enjoying it. Win or lose, one might as well make the most of their last pro fight & soak up the whole atmosphere/process including the ringwalk.
At his best Cruiserweight Haye stepped up & did 12 with prime Vlad Klitschko... Let's not forget that. Bellew "stepped up" to face prime Cruiserweight Usyk... & was brutally KO'd... Anyway respect to all of them.
The giveaway is when he goes backwards, he moves his front leg backwards first then his back leg to try and relieve the pressure, his achilles hadn't recovered.
During the interview at the end you can clearly tell that Haye has not recovered from the injury - he was just man enough to not take anything away from his opponent...
Tony your brother-in-law will be so proud of you so we'll Liverpool you're a good guy god bless you god bless your family you carry on being the fighter you are god bless you from London anyone who gets into a boxing ring deserves all the credit given to both of you
At 31:23 is one of the most beautiful right hand left hook set up I ever seen in boxing and combat sports period. The run up, the technic, speed, precision, feet placement and basically the way he engaged into it was pure masterclass.
Haye dragging the right leg from the first round. Clearly couldn't hold his weight when he was getting tagged on the ropes, and couldn't be explode off it to generate any power when throwing the right hand. Sad to see such a talent go out like that, a prime cruiserweight Haye is in the conversation for one of the best cruiserweights of all time.
Hayes style relies on speed, agility and sharp reflexes but this inevitably fades with age especially if you're offensive fighter. Bellew did really well to get out of range quickly and when he came inside he pushed Haye on the backfoot so his power was no longer loaded up and effective. Haye got picked apart basically and once his offence was dealt with, Bellew beat him up.
I remember watching a documentary about Tony Bellew's life, and what I loved about the man was his emotion and absolute honesty - which is relevant at the interview here at the end of this fight. Riveting X
If the right hand from an uninjured David Haye landed on Bellew's chin like it did at 16:31, it would have been a good night. The power comes from the legs and it was clear Haye was injured going into the rematch as well. Should have never taken any of the fights and should have stayed retired for good. He was forcing his body over his natural weight limit for far too long and it took the toll on his body, which started breaking down with all kinds of injuries. Veganism didn't help him either.
“not bad for a little fat smoutiee scouser” That’s why I love tony down to earth kinda fella. Hayes definitely one of my favourites heart of a lion both them.

Such a disciplined performance from Bellew. Usyk is in a whole different category than Haye, but I'm excited to see how Bellew will respond to the speed and high punch output.
2 boxing warriors and great sportsmanship. Respect 🙌
I love how tony runs right to Eddie Hearn to hug him this time 😂😂😂
@Barry Allen
It's a figure of speech Barry.
@Barry Allen yes, it is.
Did Barry delete his comment?
I was looking for this comment, so funny how he threw him off last time 😂
@@mikeoxmall3323
I think Barry did
What a performance! Amazing defense and speed.
Old Eddie got a hug this time after the fight
Always makes me go cold when I see Tony and Eddie at the end
Just re-watching this and admiring the commentary from Malignaggi, he had it SPOT ON
He's a great commentator
They all knew but not a great sell if the commantatirs basically admit this isn't a fight because Haye is incompasatated
@@frankjaeger393 It's not Malignaggi's job to sell the fight, Frank. It's his job to commentate on it , which he did, and did so with expert analysis. Hence my original comment.
@@TheDoveys yeah I know I'm just highlighting what the other commentators was their for. Paulie was the only honest calling it for what it was.
watching this after the James English podcast, top bloke!

Thank you so much for making this fight available.
I don’t care what anybody says . That was a wonderful moment with bellew and Hearn
i mean you can see the love... eddie is always the first in the ring
And they'll forever be smashing each others balls of there chins

@@azeezosho9459 Eddie sure loves to see two guys getting a good pounding in the ring..
So cool music n coming to ring David Hayes 🤩✌️👊love it
Constantly hungry if your wondering I believe the song is called anint no stopping us know
It's the song Former Heavyweight Champion Larry Holmes use to have played when He would enter the ring. The original Artist was Macfadden & Whitehead
David Haye in his prime at cruiserweight was one of the most talented fighters I’ve ever seen. Sad that he took these comeback fights, his legacy was already cemented 🔥
Crying all the way to the bank

At that level, it's tough to know when to quit. Most guys don't.
26:02 bellew has spidey sence
When I saw that I thought he had ultra instinct
Love to watch Tony’s fights over again, what a man he is always an under dog never gets the credit he deserves,Tony is fast jabbing and big puncher very good boxing IQ hats of to the man
Was never a Haye fan but still really sad seeing him being beaten up like this!
very supportive sport ..this is what should they do ..both of them are good boxer. respect for you all guys .
Hats of to them both 😊 To great fighters . They always gave a hundred percent! Dame good Bout😊 Respect to both❤❤👍👍
He blew his right knee out. He keeps saying he was injury free but look at the way his right leg collapses. Then second KD, when he tries to stand on it, it gives out again and he grimaces.
31:52 wow this man gives respect to everyone

Holyfield is 4 years older than Tyson
Holyfield and Lewis were past their best, so......
@@dguitar3831 Holyfield is 4 years older. Lennox is near as makes no difference the same age, but broke his hand in the fight
37:20 Straight to the canvas it goes thanks to USYK
There is footage of David Haye after he gets dropped clutching his Ankle as soon as he is on the floor. This fight should have never been made.
OVO Begzino...I seen that.
David Haye doing a fine acting job as usual
Lmao, he got whooped. Why wasn't he holding his ankle before the fight? It suddenly started hurting after he lost?
@@H.K.5 Hey his toe injury against Wlad was legit, he would have won that one too if it wasn't for them darn injuries.
Doesn’t look half bad now- a lot lighter of course- but still in shape
Haye obviously way past his best here but still before the knockdown was taking the rounds against Tony. How is Tony gonna fair against Usyk? Never write Tony off but for me this is one step too far.
Respect to both fighters. Two proper fighters.
Respect both guys for this they left it all in the ring.
Lots of comments about the right foot which is clear, but I think the major factor was actually his back. He literally has no rotation on that right hand, crouched low and hardly any of his patented head movement. Tough one to watch but glad he's retired healthy.
Great ref! respect to that man great fight as well!
My first fight I watched live, what a night
Same
Lucky
Same bro was gutted but good atmosphere man
I like that at the end when being interviewed Haye was pushed a few times to say if he was injured or not and he said 'No' a few times and just said the better man won when clearly his right leg went again.
@@pauld5723 😂😂😂😂
@@pauld5723 prime haye does bellew easy mate
All these people saying hate shouldn't have been fighting here was probably the same people saying bellew had no chance smh👌😕👌😕
look @ haye legs his movement .. &you tell me if that looks like a fighter in his prime..waiting for you respone
People didn't know about the injury though before first fight. I just don't know how Haye passed a medical or assessment to fight.
I know they can give credit to any but the fighter they like
Its such a shame to see potentially one of the best ever curiserweights the UK has ever had, who also moved to heavyweight and kept his skill, power, to completely break down and crumble. I had high hopes for him in this fight but it goes to show you cannot play boxing, injuries and old age will break you down.
Fighting injured twice for retirement money........ David's got no one to blame but himself. Bellew was the better man
Sad watching this ,his foot work ,his power had gone

David Haye’s entrance was real good. The whole arena was enjoying it. Win or lose, one might as well make the most of their last pro fight & soak up the whole atmosphere/process including the ringwalk.
At his best Cruiserweight Haye stepped up & did 12 with prime Vlad Klitschko... Let's not forget that.
Bellew "stepped up" to face prime Cruiserweight Usyk... & was brutally KO'd...
Anyway respect to all of them.
Bellew was comfortably up on the cards with uskk to be fair to the scouser. Just not as fit as he used to be aha
@@joe3301 Usyk was toying with him.
What a stunning victory. To be an underdog twice and dominate both fights is just crazy.
The giveaway is when he goes backwards, he moves his front leg backwards first then his back leg to try and relieve the pressure, his achilles hadn't recovered.
Just the normal way to walk backwards front foot first or you would do a split, not saying the man wasn't hurt
Cool fight! Thanks for amazing boxers!!!👍🇺🇦💪
During the interview at the end you can clearly tell that Haye has not recovered from the injury - he was just man enough to not take anything away from his opponent...
Got this on my phone and the Klitschko fight on the TV......the difference in Haye between the two fights is massive. Sad to see.
Yeah bud. He was well and truly done by the time he got in here. Ref could've stopped the fight before it started he was that far gone.
Roy Jones Jr and David Haye broke my heart to pieces 😢😢😢😢
Tech Nic bit bent
Still in covid world watching this- Was a great fight !
Thanks for uploading this.
Against a 1 legged haye 😂🤦♂️yh really impressive...not
God bless you tony a true champ
24:50 What are Bellew and Caldwell angry at the ref about here? Giving him extra time with the count before the round ends?
Both great men, both great fighters. Both great commentators
Blessings for Ashley, my son was called Ashley too so it's really sad. May the best man win.🙏😇🙏😇🙏😇🙏😇👌🤩👀👼
Haye style is similar to Roy Jones Jr and that style fades over time
Lot of heart by Haye, his body was In no shape to win. Tony cold blooded performance.
David Hayes body may have failed him but what a big heart he had ✊🏻
Great, they're both hungry and you can feel it. Looking forward cro this. 💯💯
I remember watching a documentary about Tony Bellew's life, and what I loved about the man was his emotion and absolute honesty - which is relevant at the interview here at the end of this fight. Riveting X
Haye got me into boxing, he was a great fighter and champion, a prime Haye would have humiliated bellew
blablabla he got rekt hard LUL
A prime haye didnt tell bellew his kids are gunna have to see him in hospital. Makes no difference what or what not a prime haye would do.
Carl Thompson a similar styled but not as good as Tony beat a Prime Haye 1st know what your on about b4 making Big Statements
David Haye's pride and underestimating Tony cost him the fight.
His feet don't look right when he backs out of that exchange. I can't work out if it's mental or physical.
I love to see both fighters hug after a tear up.
33'08 "Scream baby scream" Usyk brought him back to the reality
Knew Bellew would win both of these fights. Huge respect to David Haye tho, what a warrior
So upsetting to see such an iconic fighter, who once was so great getting torn apart :(

Huge haye fan, this makes me so sad, he used to be so fast, so active, a bit like tyson just a bit less porwerfull and a bit more techincal, was allways awsome to watch, and now this. Doing nothing just chilling around out of shape hard :( u still the man tho everyone gets old
U clearly didn’t watch the fight, Haye was still fast with good reflexes, his leg just gave out, Haye didn’t let his leg heal enough
