Those personnel were redirected to other shelters long before the hurricane came. Initially, there was a belief that the roof would hold, but it became obvious it would not. NO ONE occupied the field during the storm.
Not for nothing but who ever thought putting people under a tarp for protection from a hurricane is insane. Second, Can't put a proper roof on but can pay players 100 million dollars to play a game. What a shame
💯. The weather channel isn't speaking truth either. Luckily their CAT 3 never made landfall. Yes on record it was one but surge and wind gust prove different. Care to enlighten me TWC why you aren't saying that you're happy you were wrong????
@ConstitutionalDelegateRepublic that will be the day when a news affiliate retracts a statement. And if I had to guess, they probably up played this hurricane because of the destruction of the Carolinas and surrounding areas. Rather air on the side of caution then pile up the body's because they didn't evacuate. On top of all that, I was very surprised as crazy as that sounds that helene, a smaller hurricane, did more damage than milton. I thought tampa was going to be whipped off the map according to TWC
Well this was only a tarp like roof. For a stadium. Many stadiums don’t even have roofs. So this isn’t the best example lol but yes we should be smarter when building
I don't understand Yes this place was hit hard but they claimed (NWS, NOAA etc) that it was a Cat 3 with 120-130MPH sustained winds. No gusts in Florida have been reported above 108???? That's a Cat 1 with 100MPH wind gusts, not a Cat 3 with 150-160 MPH gust. Thank God they were wrong but why isn't anyone talking about it? The storm surge also suggests a CAT 1. Helene did more damage in most areas, barring the rain flooding. Just very odd but is a good thing
People need to start building for hurricanes and earthquakes. We all know the weather is getting worse and we need to prepare for it if we don't do something to prevent it. Where is all the billions of dollars that need to go to climate change.
The only positive I can come up with is it's fortunate that the Rays didn't make the playoffs this year. This would be a logistical nightmare trying to move games elsewhere. Any word on Port Charlotte's condition? And if anyone tells me the 16th St substation stayed up through the storm I will die laughing.
Yeah in Buffalo; when we had the big blizzard 2 years ago our golf dome collapsed which was also a big tarp structure. The roof was just a tarp on the stadium.
TWC are you gonna say you are happy you were wrong and say this was a strong CAT 1 or 2 seems gusts over 108 don't exist, at least not shown on your channel, FOX,CNN,MSNBC or online.

I agree! Didn’t they see this with Katrina? Learn from your mistakes.

@@TheStabbyMedic, obviously, Governor DeSatan's Administration doesn't really care about the safety of Floridians?
No baseball player makes 100 million dollars.
Fiberglass skin roof. In a state frequented by hurricanes and tropical storms seems a bit of an oxymoron.
The stadium is 34 years old, they need a new one anyways.
@@thekingofkingsrp I agree. The whole thing looked like a leaning cooking pot.
Im more concerned with peoples houses and lives instead of some billionaire's stadium
Mother nature does not play favorites.
The lights poured out the top of the stadium last night bringing reassurance and comfort to the city illuminated by it❤❤❤
Vai passar❤
Omg I'm so sorry . This hurricane was a monster
God please help florida rebuild.
I guess the debate for a new stadium is now over.
So much more important things.
@JeanEDeaux No really? Try telling someone that who hasn't lived through it and Ian.
Praying for all who affected by the storm
My prayers are with all of you affected by this hurricane, 💜
Yah that will help😂
Doesn’t look at all like fiberglass unless it was just fabric that was not epoxy coated. Was this fiberglass woven into fabric for strength or what?
Terrible construction being in a Florida with so many hurricanes.
Well this was only a tarp like roof. For a stadium. Many stadiums don’t even have roofs. So this isn’t the best example lol but yes we should be smarter when building
Survived 34 years which is well beyond a normal lifespan anyways.
WOW!
Preformed with my Marching Band here back in 2017. Crazy
How are the LINEMAN based there?
They're not. Never was
❤ from Portugal
Must of a killer party after the big game.
So 😢
Stay safe everyone
The engineering did not hold up. Damn, don't they plan for these situations while making things like this? 🤔🤨
Fiver glass roof in Florida 😮😮
Emergency personnel responded immediately. They were trying to get to the people any way they could. 🎉
Sorte não ter ninguém abaixo...
At least it’s not a disaster it’s easy clean up the roof is going to need replacing tho.
Wow 😮😮😢😢🙏🙏
Scary 😨

Just very odd but is a good thing
Is it just me or do those things look like coffins?😮
Deus ta pedindo mim ache ainda tem tempo
They should do a translusive roof.

Doesn't look like that roof was very well constructed
Good thing that wasn’t a shelter.

Allahu Akbar
I sure would have thought that the wind rating on that roof was higher... how terrible
Doesn't seem real, like a short from a movie, even the music...
Yeah in Buffalo; when we had the big blizzard 2 years ago our golf dome collapsed which was also a big tarp structure. The roof was just a tarp on the stadium.
Buccaneers woulda played right through it
please build a new stadium
As pessoas os animais nao misyra porquê

Good thing the nfl has millions to somehow rebuild this stupid sports complex
Mlb
Official Tropicana Hotel Las Vegas Goodbye Implosion at Dawn morning
No more English for you, bud.
Go for one that's not fiberglass it's a neoprene roof and awning material😂😂😂
