The tension of the timer is great in my opinion, but there should definitely be an option to play the game without a timer at all. Alternatively, if the player is trying a stealthy approach, the timer shouldn’t start until they are discovered. Of course, this doesn’t apply if the mission requires a timer because, for example, the target might leave the area in a few minutes.

I've watched this a few times. The biggest issue is that there is NO meaningful game under the timer. You move cubes around to perform simple tasks like moving. The enemies do NOT move at all or chase you. There is no dodging, cover, etc just simple dice roll. Worse, there are no reactions in the game to anything the players do during their turns. The characters aren't that different, same stats, a few different cards. At one point, the hacker did more damage than the mantis blade guy?? This is anemic game design. The timer hides that there is no meaningful gameplay happening underneath the surface

My excitement for this has gone from 10 to about 2.
What is the go with this timer making it chaotic?
It’s so bad you can’t even follow what is happening in the playthrough.
That mechanic needs to go. People don’t play board games to have couple hours of frantic stress.
Really don’t get the decision to run the game on timer. Sometimes being innovative is not always the best option.

So after watching the gameplay I can say what I did like and what I think needs to be addressed. There are a lot of quite negative comments, let me try to be more on constructive side:
    - Timer. A BIG debate question, but I actually like the idea behind it. Yes, it limits 'deepness' of gameplay, but at the same time it makes pre-planning quite important and forces bad choices and mistakes.
    - Digital timer. Here things comes to a bit of edgy. I think it's not good for any board game to require an electronic device to enjoy it. I do understand that with this option you have more control over difficulty based on the feedback after the release, but I still don't like it. Story telling? Fine, let it be optional, but the game must be playable without a phone in my opinion.
    - Asymmetry. Even tho I do feel that balancing asymmetrical characters is quite a challenge (especially when you have time pressure etc), but I would love more difference between characters. We need to represent stealth & hacking in more way, tho right now the game is about shooting guards.
    - Complexity. Again, I do adore the timer idea during the action, but I think there should be a little bit more flexibility during pre-planning / cooldown phase. As an idea it might be worth to move actual crafting from the action phase, but keep material collection during as an example.
    - Maps & randomization - this is not covered fully with this video, however I'd say that it would be good to understand replayability. The point is the game requires quite some experience to be effective over the mission and if playing the same missions over & over is boring - most people will be sorted out on prologue.
Overall I think the game as presented is quite unique in a way that it's really catching phases from the setting well. But there is a room for improvement for sure

Thanks for the video. Really like the components and the general feel of the game, but I've to say this video reminds me of the first one Awaken Realms did for Stalker TBG: a lot of gameplay without really explaining the rules in depth. The result is a bit confusing as soooo much stuff is happening, so I basically watched it without really knowing WHAT was happening (for example, why enemies move that way? what triggers them? why the players are choosing that craft instead of that other craft? etc etc)

Tak jak w grze, kontrakty od fixerow też stanowiły duża część gry i przynosiły spore korzyści. Także myślę że fajnie byłoby je zaimplementować.
Fajnie też jakbyście zaimplementowali mieszkania i pojazdy, bo jednak to były ważne elementy gry.

I watch this gameplay and hear: "I take this", "I go here", "I use this card" and so on... No explanation - what card? Fight, action or other. What do you pick up from the board? etc... First "action round" should be without timer and just to show options players have. And only then show us how it feels to be playing with time pressure. Most of this gameplay looks chaotic af... Basically it looks like you guys where playing only for people who already know the rules and have pIayed this game dozens of times... You didn't explained anything. I suggest, before doing gameplay video, to watch other channels explaining games' rules. I would say that your marketing team needs to rethink how to proper present the game and it's mechanics to the audience. @@GoonBoard Can you imagine asking a few friends over for a nice afternoon out of the rain after a hard week's work. Sitting down to relax with a beer and looking forward to a board game, fun and laughter.
The option is to play Cyberpunk, hunched over a table tied to playing a game with rules you barely know, trying to analyse a ton of options, as much as possible while a count-down decides your fate? No time to take a sip of beer or throw out a joke or two.
Or we could play Witcher the Old World, or something similar laid-back and mellow instead.
If you want to retain the sense of tension and threat with a count-down timer, then make that an optional rule - this is my suggestion.
During the demo I saw each of you perform a set number of tasks per count-down round - 5-10, depending on the scenario before the timer ran out. Every player played the same number based on sequential play. Add extra action or two for each extension of time. So instead of limiting based on time, limit the number of turns based on your experience of number of turns you can play during your time-limit. Add an action or two if time is extended. Also, you can modify the number for easy, medium, or difficult play.

It looks like you are aiming at tackling the alpha-player problem in coop games by introducing the timer so that the alpha has literally no time to handwave and orchestrate everyone. This is cool. But I have a feeling that you are introducing an even bigger issue as you go about it. With the real-time non-simultaneous action mechanics faster players will be on the backs of the slower ones all the time. Because the timer ticks for everyone when I am confused and can't decide what to do. I'm sure you have thought about it and would be curious to learn what is your thinking in this regard

It looks like this could be a good game. It falls into the category of games like Project Elite for me. Project Elite is a very fun/a bit stressful game that has timed (2 min) phases followed by planning like this one seems to. It needs a timer otherwise the game would be too easy/simple causing it to be not fun. I feel like this game is working under the same conditions. Just using less dice.
That puts me in a strange spot this will be to simple to buy/enjoy if it is not on a timer and I already have Project Elite KS Edition for a time-based game that is similar. Perhaps this could be better than Project Elite with the extra story and campaign elements, But I am still happy with PE and have tons more gameplay to explore with it. Although I was excited for this, I cannot see myself spending the amount of money this will cost considering it will just sit on the shelf. I am sure some will love it though because it does look good. On the brightside with all the KSers these days I saved money to use for a different one.
    Thanks for the video!

Yeah, I guess that's what the timer is for ... Quick card play etc to convolute there isn't much actual decision/tactical play. In bgg terms I guess it would be around 1.5 which is 'could be fun, when played with kids' territory longterm. Kinda makes it even more basic than Zombicide. Your remark just also made me notice that all enemies are just basic bullet sponges and have no real mechanics. They just do basic damage and as such never do hacks or anything. Also, full stealth doesn't seem to be an option either... As timer runs anyway.
      .
Such a shame, I kinda wanted a sort of dungeon crawler, but with guns etc in a cyberpunk setting orso.... But unless this goes for less than 50€ inc shipping, I have a hard time seeing this game as even casual interesting...
      .

Another thing that's even shown during the gameplay is that players mostly do their own thing and are little aware of each other's actions. So you could do something really fancy/cool and the other players will hardly notice it because they're doing their own things. Kind of all playing separately together... With minor interaction during the cooldown/planning phase.

The game art and graphic design, theme, and real-time mechanism got my attention but I've been going back and forth on pledging for this game. (I've pledged and canceled a couple of times) - I was really hoping for more "cyber" aspects. However, after watching quite a few videos, this gameplay plus a number of the later stretch goals have provided me with just enough cyber abstractions to finally feel confident in backing it. Part of my feeling is that the game design seems flexible enough for me to make it more like what I was looking for. Even if I don't, the game (with a few of the stretch goals) seems very engaging.

After seeing an ad for this I thought I'd check it out. The world of Cyberpunk 2077 is ideal for a campaign oriented board game. From what I've seen here this definitely isn't it. I mean, where's the game? As others have noted there doesn't seem to be anything of substance under the timer. For a game that is supposedly action and combat oriented this looks like a tedious cube shuffler.
Besides the apparent lack of game here for an IP associated with instantly recognisable art design and aesthetics this doesn't have any table presence at all. It's really something how there's some slick looking art on the box, but the game itself looks really bland. I understand this is a prototype, well it clearly needs a lot of work both mechanically and aesthetically before it's ready to hit anyone's table.

@@zawiasfx We believe that it is a subjective matter. For now, this is the prototype of the game with time limitation, and yes - we believe that here's one of the fun factors in the whole gameplay. We're still working on the final game, so we encourage you to keep an eye on the project evolution on our Gamefound page.

I was going to go all in on this, then I started playing the game again and was on the fence. After watching this video I’m all out. It might look like 2077 but plays nothing like it.

was ready to buy the full version at 300 dollars , but after knowing more this is a no no ! this game could be a great tactical stealt and coordinate actions cooperative gameplay, but instead of that this is just a gogo run and do whatever you want game... and the enemies don't even move to chase you... there's so much potential, but for now this don't look very interesting, sorry

Such a cool theme, but completely ruined by the gameplay mechanics. It looks quite boring to play. There is no existing events or anything like that. Just a predefined path and that's it. It feels very static. Also, app is big no-no for me. If I wanted something digital, I rather play the game on my PC. I'm also not a fan of the timer.
Overal, excitement went from 8 to 2 after this video and decided not to back it. It looks very generic with some very questionable design decisions.
