  • Bruce Lee - founder of Jeet Kune Do - a pioneer in modern Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).
I got tired of watching this video, on other RUclips channels, with the audio & video out of sync; so I audio-corrected it. I also tried a rudimentary upscale, with very little success... but, all in all, I think it's better overall.
Much of what Bruce discusses here is expounded upon in his book, "Tao of Jeet Kune Do", which I highly recommend.

@@BeKindToBirds , the values still exist they are now adapted into other things, merryweather adapted his boxing into the things bruce has said. This man was years ahead of his time for the mental awareness he had, if he still was alive the things he wouldve said would not have stopped here and it wouldve been even more years perfected. The fact that this man had an ideal that didnt even exist yet , later was adapted by not just mixed martial artists but boxers even now and to say these are things that dont exist today tells me you didnt pay attention in history class Or in life ever.

@@BeKindToBirds "the values don't exist today" they never existed you fool, not during that time, and not now. There were moments within this interview were Bruce Lee was relaying a message through his philosophy and I believe there was more to be said but his train of thought was cut short by Pierre Burton. Your last sentence i.e. "Thanks Mister Lee for being here for a while," reminds me of the 2018 documentary "Quincy" on legendary American music producer Quincy Jones. In it, Quincy Jones, in an interview to Oprah Winfrey, states that he isn't done yet with producing music, and if anything, was intending to get better at it, so much so, that when his time on this earth was over, the generations that would come after us would still know that "he came through here," on the strength of the quality of work he intended to leave behind. There is no such thing of ahead of time ; what he is trying to explain is the rule of balance this is a daoist concept ; he is using the yin and yang principle ; he firmly believes in his own ability to create his own path and all knowledge he adquires is understood ; converted and transformed into wisdom ; then he uses his intuition ( natural body functionality) for his own fighting techquine not following any outside rule but his own body as whole ( mind ; emotions ; natural movement ; qi energy) and combining that with control he means the self discipline of making all of the things mentioned in the paragraph to flow in harmony with each other in all level physical ; energetical qi ; soul center ; spiritual body ; astral body etc . There you have the natural and the unnatural . Hope it helps

"To express oneself honestly, not lying to oneself and to express myself honestly, now that my friend is very hard to do. and you have to train. You have to keep your reflexes, so when you want it, it's there" - Bruce Lee

Bruce Lee was not only amazing as a fighter, he had a powerful soul and deep sense of wisdom and balance. He was very empathetic even when he critiqued anything. Ali was the same way. Filled with humility and why so many loved him as do I. Philosophy, art and sport the ultimate balance in exercise.
