    Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge! Most people don’t take the time to help others out! We use these same techniques with pole fishing and trot lines etc. this is making me want to get set up to share the little bit of information I’ve learned over the years! I was self taught way before RUclips. Helping the next generation learn and keep the traditions and techniques alive is what I’ve always try to show my kids since my dad didn’t really take the time to show me! Glad I found your channel and know it takes a lot of time to get it together but it’s greatly appreciated! God bless

      Definitely not a bad idea at all. Keep them kids in God's creation!!! I think RUclips started in 2005, so most of us learned before RUclips, lol. Sharing knowledge is the only way this stuff survives. Big Gov don't want it to, so this is our small battle in Life!!

      Fish Walton, you can use nets in Florida but have to get a commercial license. The freshwater one for residents is not all that much. Go by the FWS office and talk to the Wardens to make sure you are not using the wrong equipment and the proper tagging of your nets. Good Luck

    I have learned more about setting nets here today than I have up to date. Looking forward to seeing them checked. Thank you so much, soon as you get some fea-lays, you will have to give some more cooking lessons. By-the-way, are you familiar with "river fries"? If not I may have a recipe you will like. You can use bream, bluegill, bass, but my favorite “sac-a-lait”. River fries are also good with pork chops, loin sliced or better yet, pork steak.

      We ain't going anywhere. We just slow down on fishing videos during hunting season. Right now we're trying to catch our hunting videos up with our, fishing videos, but it's a struggle. Catching game on film is much harder than fish. However we already got stuff filmed that's coming soon. We spend a lot of time in the woods and on the road doing this. We're actually planning on putting some nets in in about two weeks for a fall run. Fall and winter can be good with nets. We're also gonna crank it up a notch with new content in 2023. You are correct about older fishermen laying it down and younger generations not being interested at all. Hopefully our videos help ease that a bit and bring people's interest back to light. If not our Hobby's and sports will die out. We do already have sportsmen against sportsmen, rec against commercial. That's a slippery slope. We try to answer any questions, but keep in mind during hunting season we could be out of touch a few days, so stay on our bell for notifications

      You can catch a few fish in summer long as you got current, but for me it's more about the heat I think. It's just too hot for that kind of work. You also gotta run them more regular and deal with dead fish

      I'm familiar with Prairion. You need to look on our video list on the main page and watch our wire net videos. I have fished there. Man this time of year, Lake Darbonne is the closest lake to you that you can catch some in easily. It's actually gonna get better probably in June after the catfish spawn. Right now, you'd want to fish 4-8 foot of water on the flats or against the bank horizontal on bottom. In June as it warms up, your gonna have to hang those high in the water column to keep from the fish dying. You can catch on Darbonne all summer. You can use the write nets on the river around tree tops in summer once the current slows down. Maybe I'll do videos on that this summer. If you fish Darbonne, you better tie your nets on snags below the surface, or they will get stolen. Good luck!!

  • @kennybarber4754

    You make some great videos. So when the river is up it's better to fish the side with less current like the flooded timber side or best to hit the side with the drop off banks that has more current?

    • @godscountryhuntingfishing1638
      @godscountryhuntingfishing1638  2 года назад +1

      Its best to fish the side you are physically able to handle with the gear you have. I've caught good on both types of sides. You just gotta set them and when you find good sets, fish those same sets every year. We raised ours this afternoon and had a few fish on both sides, but they really not running good yet. We had 9 Blues and 5 flats in 5 nets. Two we're messed up with big gar and a paddle fish. I'll try to get that video out this week

I never watched duck dynasty ....You tube and this type channel is what I like I call this real TV....I have watched him concerning some of his info on the bible....My message here is something I meant to ask you the other day....Do you think that a man could fish daily for bait fish and sell them? I told my wife it seems like Skipjack might sell better to fisherman than catfish to the public...I decided to fish bc I needed someway to make some money....After this tornado I lost my job and if I could fish and make 200 bucks a day I'd be doing better than a job at some fast food place .....I hate to ask questions like this on a you tube comment.....So many people don't like a guy making anything of fish but I grew up at a time that people fished to eat and for money....I thought maybe bait might make atleast a little money and I have time to fish for them ....I figure you know the best ansewers most I ask won't respond

      I'd rather to think that Phil lives in my part of the country. I was actually raised pretty close to where he hunted a lot when he was younger. I've hunted some of the same duck holes he's hunted I'm sure. Far as the fishing, I'd have to think the market for bait fish isn't gonna pay much. However people like to eat, and they will buy them. That said, fishing commercial is a grind, and I think making $200 a day for me, I'd have to go at it constantly. That's too much for me. Not saying I couldn't, but I mean I'd have to process 50 lbs of fillets a day. That's 150+ lbs in the rough each day. Over 1000 lbs a week. Some do it, but I personally would only do it as a side job or retired job and probably wouldn't want to dress that much fish then. That said the overhead in gear costs, fuel, and boat maintenance is gonna cut into those numbers a lot in this time. Not trying to discourage, but just know what your getting into. Good luck if you try doing it more though

For me it just looks like to much to deal with while net fishing and one with reverse cost as much as an outboard ....I seriously might build some exhaust and see it it works....I'm curious if people run loud pipes bc there is no options....I never thought about the noise til you said something about it but Yeah a noise box makes no sense to me duck hunting ...That type of noise carries for miles....If a man is gonna make a bunch of noise why even bother with camo ?
