The lead singer of Blur is the creative head behind the Gorillazs and make collaboration with other artist for Gorillazs. So Gorillazs could be everything and also an experiment field for other artist to try new stuff. That makes Gorillazs so unique.
Damon Albarn (who IS pretty much Gorillaz) was the singer and songwriter of UK band Blur, who were very much steeped in the 'British' 1960's tradition of the Beatles, The Kinks, etc. So you're 100% spot-on with your observation re the bridge sections of this song. Well done! Obviously the magic with the Gorillaz stuff is how he blends that with so many other styles and influences. Also - De La Soul rule, RIP Plug Two
All of their videos are animated maybe sometimes animated into the real world like the music video of the song, humility or Pac-Man, and they have been around for a long time like this song is one of their oldest ones more like older but you can actually see the characters look older in the future songs as well, like the little girl on the island with the windmill she gets way older in the future music videos. I would recommend listening tomorrow in the future they have so many different types of music like empire ants, Pac-Man, and humility are all different types. They mix genres in the music.
This is a stone cold classic. The vibe you are actually trying to decipher is 70's but not so much rock as funk. Look up Parliament, specifically "P. Funk (Wants To Get Funked Up)" and "Supergroovalisticprosifunkstication" and you'll find that vibe.
I hadn't associated the chorus with the Beatles, but it makes a bit of sense. The guy behind the Gorillaz was the lead singer of the Britpop band Blur. The idea behind Britpop was that British bands in the 90s should sound less like American grunge bands and more like the British bands of the past. Oasis went a bit too far in trying to sound like the Beatles, in fact Blur mocked them with a song called Beatlebum. But Blur drew inspiration from the Kinks and Beatles. By the time of the Gorillaz Blur was experimenting with electronic sounds, and that influence seems greater in the Gorillaz. But it is not surprising if there is still a 60s influence particularly in the chorus.
This diamond should be in your collection. I would like to share with you my discovery. The voice of amazing beauty, power and depth, crystal clear, I heard from a beautiful girl and was fascinated by her. She has about 70 victories in various vocal competitions. If you understand what it is to sing with soul, then this is about her. Diana also has a huge army of fans, and reactions are gaining tens and hundreds of thousands of views. The total number of reactions on RUclips to Diana is about 18 thousand. (all collected in my playlists)
One of the most famous hits of the king of rock 'n' roll in an unrivaled gorgeous, phenomenal performance by Diana Ankudinova ( 18 y.o.) Can’t Help Falling in Love (Elvis Presley / DARK VERSION cover) VERY IMORTANT, the video must be original (duration - 8.56m) from Diana's channel, NOT a short pirated copy from "brocoli". 12.6 million views 294k likes - total 1233 reactions to this performance by Diana. ❗ATTENTION: 1) Please use ONLY original content from Diana Ankudinova official channel. 2) Videos from TV shows are often blocked by RUclips and video EDITING is required. Gorillaz ask what would happen if a post-punk UK band and a US hip-hop collective respected one another and made some tracks. I think the results speak for themself.
I’ve never been a huge Gorillaz fan, I only know their mainstream stuff. What I do know is that they have same bangers. “Clint Eastwood” has always stuck out to me.
Ah feel good inc concerned to be one of the top songs by Damon albarn and Jamie hewlett the wonderful minds behind Gorillaz you should check out clint eastwood
I’ve noticed that a lot of people reacting to videos make the (easy) mistake of looking at the year THAT video, they are watching, came out. Usually it’s not the actual year the song was released. I’ll advise you to check Wikipedia.
rap ruined music you know they don't even give out the rock and roll awards at the Emmys during the show they came out during the commercials... just like students not being required to meet reading and writing standards in Oregon

Oh i love that!!
FYI That song is actually 18 years old, not 7. 😁

Gorillaz is incredible and I'm so glad you are discovering them. It's actually only one dude and an illustrator! Powerhouse duo for sure.
I agree with you. It's Beatles but also everything else from back then and into the future.
"El Mañana" is the followup video to this one, its a gorgeous video and my favorite Gorillaz song
