There's a lot of nostalgia for this song around. I saw someone complaining in a game chat a couple of years ago, and they finished with, "I'm not happy." I replied with, "I'm feeling glad. I got sunshine in a bag." Suddenly, 5 of us were all taking turns typing out the whole thing!

They created their first tune over the internet, that's why they're referred to as a "virtual band", that was in 1998. Clint Eastwood came out in 1999 and was a big hit alongside the first album: "Gorillas".
One of my favorites from this band. How did I not realize until now that the zombie gorrilla dancers were doing the "Thriller" dance lol?

i just now realized a possible significance of them being gorillas; the band name, and then the z could be why they're zombie gorillas, but maybe i'm just reading too much into it
@@CorvusCorone68 Damon Albarn (musician) and Jamie Hewlett (visuals and animation) are the only permanent members of the band Gorillaz. The band name Gorillaz comes from guerrilla warfare, small units of soldiers doing short strike and disappear missions. Damon collaborate with different musicians from different genres of music on every new album, this also falls into the guerrilla warfare style of making music. They use the virtual band as the never grow old, so Damon (52) can continue to produce fresh music without the worry of the stigma of being to old.

@@BisscuteReacts Damon Albarn who’s 52-53 year old has been producing great music since 1992-93 with the band Blur, he and his friend Jamie Hewlett (animator) came up with the idea of the virtual band so they could continue to making music for many, many years to come and not be an old man on the stage, the idea being the virtual band never gets a day older.

Hi , the reason that they keep with the " animated style " is that they're actually a " virtual " band ..There are only 2 members - Damon Albarn ( from 90s Britpop band BLUR ) and his friend - comic artist Jamie Hewlett ( creator of Tank Girl ) . Albarn collaborates with various musicians , Hip-Hop and Dub artists and producers to get the very unique and recognisable sound of the " band " .
I'll never be bored watching two scenes: 1) generation X geezers reacting modern bands 2) generation Z youngsters reacting old bands =) Gorillaz got a bunch of cool songs, yeah. But you can check out a movie based on comics drawn by their creator - some crazy shit called "Tank Girl" ;)
“I got sunshine in a bag” is a drug reference, likely weed but could really be interpreted as the listener intends. Feeling low, feeling down but all be okay with “sunshine in a bag, the future is coming on”.

Demon Days is legitimately one of the best albums of all time. It's worth 45 minutes of your life to experience for the first time.
I remember seeing this music video on Cartoon Network back in the day.
"All in your head" refers to the time Russel was in a coma for no medical reason that the doctors could figure out. From there, he went from one life path to music.
IIRC, I think this music video debuted on Toonami back 20+ years ago. I remember recording it on a VHS tape and jamming out over and over to it.

I've listened to this since it's release, from radio to RUclips, and have always heard the, " that it's all in your head". So maybe the headphones thing is umm all in your head. 😂
@@kbizzle7892 uhm, actually. Clearly you only listen to the YT or radio edit of the song because in one of the many versions of the song, and the one i like most, has it so that the "its all in your head" lyric can only be heard through headphones so maybe it's actually all in your head 😂😂😂
I heard the edit in the video, after I commented. I had never heard that edit before. Definitely interesting, since it was always one of my favorite parts of the track.

He’s also frontman for Deltron 3030. He likes to rap about futuristic what-iffs to make you think. Sometimes just for fun, sometimes for a reason.
Another nostalgic gamer song is “3030” by Deltron 3030. You might also like “Virus”.
Clint Eastwood story. He lives in Carmel, Ca a beautiful seaside village. The city council passed an ordinance banning the eating of ice cream on the sidewalks!! Clint thought that was BS. So he ran for mayor with the slogan Law, Order and Ice Cream". He won!! So if you ever visit Carmel you eat eat ice cream on the sidewalk!!

Fun Fact: did you guys know that this song has a reference to the Resident Evil franchise? Well it does! cause if you look on 2D’s shirt in this video it has a giant red “T” with the word “Virus” labeled in it which refers to the “T-Virus which caused the zombie outbreak in the mansion and Raccoon City of the first 2 Resident Evil games, Also both the singer of 2D and Noodle are both confirmed Resident Evil fans as the video plays out them fighting reanimated gorillas like the zombies in Resident Evil.
