As a Norwegian, here is a Norwegian fun fact:
In Norway, there was once a huge language war between the two different written Norwegian languages.

@CrypticMist i think if you come at it as a foreigner, nobody would expect you to learn both. they both have regions of the country where one is dominant, but it isnt like if you speak one you wont be understood by the other language base. you can sort of think of it as a very heavy dialect difference that also include written language.

I learned more about Norway from this one episode of Drawfee than I did from my whole life of never once researching anything having to do with Norway.
I also had a friend who was crazy obsessed with Norway and curling. Take whatever mental image came up when you read that, and make it MORE. She was O B S E S S E D with everything Norway. She watched curling in her home. Never asked how. She would try to get me interested in teams and- okay now I'm just unprovoked talking about my life I gotta stop okay bye.

It gets better, if you look very closely at the packaging it's actually Grāpple, with the macron indicating a long "A" to get across that it's supposed to be pronounced like "grape-le." Neither this nor the copy "Say Grape-L!" on the label has ever in its history stopped a single person from pronouncing it like the word "grapple."

And, to clarify, OT7 (or OT#) was used before BTS' debut (but is often associated with BTS since they're so big now) and isn't necessarily about shipping all the members together, but about being a fan of all members (rather than a fan of 1/some members) or including all members in a fic/photo/drawing/etc.
I also find it interesting that no one questioned why the word lemon would be a fanfic tag and just accepted it lol. Maybe they knew better than to ask for a more in-depth explanation of tag meanings haha
Yes! I've been out of the ARMY scene for a while but I'm now kind of mortified that people who watch this episode will assume any BTS fan with 'OT7' in their bio must be shipping the group together. It means "I'm a fan of the whole group, not just one member" ^^;;;
(which in itself is kind of an interesting evolution of terms, as someone who's fascinated by online slang and community dynamics. Since that meaning became popular among ARMY I've now seen similar usage spread across most fandom spaces.)

As a Super Junior fan, I remember how often the discourse between OT13 and OT15 happened because of fans' opinions on whether Henry and Zhoumi were official Super Junior members. It didn't have to do with shipping, but on how many members were in the group.
That's interesting that you see it used in other fandom spaces! I think I've only ever seen it in Kpop fandoms. But I'm not really on social media much anymore which may affect it.
@@FancyTuna77 I mostly see it in kpop spaces, but recently sometimes in Western music fandoms, anime fandoms and so on - presumably it's spread by kpop fans who are in both spaces.
Also I've only been a hardcore fan of groups with consistent lineups so I'd forgotten how political it can get with proclaiming you're OT[x] for a group with an ambiguous lineup or when a particular member is involved in scandal etc. Kpop fandom has such a specific set of terms and community norms, probably because the international fandom was insular for so long. It's funny how you can get so used to certain customs in a certain context, and then hearing outsiders misunderstanding throws it all into a different perspective!
