We overcomplicate things because of our ego. Theres highly skilled hoopers, beatmakers, rappers etc that do the most and dont make it because their egos have them almost wanting to prove theyre great by showcasing too much when the situation doesnt call for it.
When J. Cole friday night lights came out, i had a workmate that told me the beats were too simple and childlike and that his brother could do better. Yet where is his brother, nowhere.

Im Jamaican by way of DC, and probably the same age as these gentlemen. My dad told me some time ago(who is Jamaican) that country music was played heavily on the radio stations in Jamaica when he was growing up, so I believe thats another reason our parents enjoyed country music so much. ...and Rsonist hit it on the nose when he said Jamaicans love country music because of the lyrics. My dad expressed that sentiment to me, as well, when tellin me why he loved country music so much. Crazy thing is, i love country music, as well!

12:20 When he's speaking about old Jamaicans liking country music, i felt that. I'm from the Caribbean, growing up in my household and other family's household...if it wasn't some beres, Sanchez, or Glen Washington.. it was country music.
I always thought why? Looking at the vinyl covers back then, i didn't see anyone who resembled me. Nor do these people look like me. See the thing is, country music has been around since slavery days. Being on that plantation, our form of entertainment was vicariously through them other folks, unless we were humming.
