“Give me the beat boys to free my soul…” So went the refrain of an early 70s song about the power of popular music to console, guide and inspire troubled kids through the refining crucible of becoming adults. Especially, their struggles with too many questions and not enough answers about the “Why?” and “Who am ‘I’?” of their existence. Then, as now, that music’s charm is as ‘a thing of beauty,’ the antidote to despair…’a bridge over troubled water’…harmonizing with frequencies ineffable, absolute and eternal. Moody Blues music is for a life time of listening pleasure, especially for those of us who grew up with it on a spiritual level.
