So many beautiful bits are buried in the thick wall of sound Moodies stereo mixes. An example is the mellotron figure at the end of each verse in "New Horizons". Yes, you can make it out on the record but you really get it in the rear channel mix. Just lovely. Another example is the Hayward high harmony in the middle eights of "The Story in Your Eyes". I think the band would have been better served with simpler, less cluttered arrangements and mixes. But that may just be me.
I tend to agree with you on some of their music. It is too overproduced and would have benefitted from simpler arrangements. It's as if they crammed as many instruments in as they could.
No Love, No Life, No ❤️ Light, Can Bear such Power, Or Radiance, or Strength, As His Love. ❤ To See God's Love before us, In All It's Glory, Would Blind us For All Time
I just get lost and wrapped up in their songs. I never want to leave. A most excellent song 🦋❤️
A true Moody Blues masterpiece in every sense of the word.
Absolutey beautiful song. Justin's singing in superb and Graeme's drumming was never better. Mike on the Chamberlain is just magificent.
The vocals are really crystal clear on this. Makes the other version seem muddy.
Their greatest song and there are many of them.
Agree totally!
This is profoundly good, thank you Shanks! Just remarkable.

A bit late, but thanks for this and all the others. Been a Moodies Fan since the early 70's, never heard it quite like this, but its a treasure:-).
Graham's Percussion is so respectful to the mood and story of this song!
Cool. Never heard this version before.
Perfection.
Wonderful, Thank you so much for sharing. Love it.💖
