    I just came upon your page. I'm from Sacramento too but currently in Texas. I'm so glad to see such simple and practical explanation of how to grow these without the necessities extra equipment for humidity. Would love to see an update soon. 😊

    💚☮️ Thanks for making a video for growing in ambient conditions. My folks live up in Suisun while I’m down in LA so this was a perfect video on how to grow Anthuriums in California. We have the best conditions for growing them with our warm sunny days, cool evening, & the ocean effect.☘️✌️

    I always thought we were supposed to soften the medium and loosen up the roots prior to repotting, but if this way works, it'll be so much easier for me to repot going forward.

      yes - I don't want to damage the roots - so I just pop it in a bigger pot

      @@andylise08 yes - most people won't grow beyond 5-6 gallon pots

      @@malindarayallen good luck - it helps to have your plants grouped together to increased humidity - your plant may lose some leaves as it adapts

    Just watched the repot and am wondering how that collar of sphagnum moss is working out. Its a beautiful anthurium !

      Recently put out it's biggest leaf ever - 43 by 13 inches - 6 inches taller than previous - the collar is full of roots - so yes so far it is working well... will be putting out a new video soon - thanks!

      All my plants do well in spagnum moss - but I live in a low humidity area

      @@growproteas1148 I have not had success with moss during propagation so it is not my go too. I have found that putting it around the collar of Anthuriums do a good job with root growth. I actually repotted my plants after watching your vids, but I used something called Pafcal instead of my mix. My Anthurium got battered this Spring with hail and it has not been doing well with growth so I am trying to baby it.

    I live in Redding and just ordered my first 2 anthuriums and can’t wait to try your methods! Also I keep most of my plants in a south/west facing window and get very afternoon bright light. Would you think they will love it or should I need to filter the sunlight?

      I think they will love it as it is not all day.. have one in south facing window for years

      @@growproteas1148 I also ordered New Zealand moss and can’t wait to grow them on that! Can I ask how long it took to upsize your baby anthurium and what size you upsized? I have a magnificum in a 6 inch already root bound and wondering now what size to repot. I want big leaves like these ! 😍

      No the plants love the sphagnum moss - seems to hold the perfect amount of water

      no root rot so far - it dries between watering - and i add grow stone for aeration -

      you are right! - seems discontinued - 1/4 inch pumice would close - that is what I'll be buying in the future

    Wow! I just wanted to ask, have you used this same potting mix since you've had the plant? We have a queen in a cabinet that she is about to outgrow, so I am planning on doing this set up for her once she is out. right now I have her in PON in a self watering pot and she seems to love it. I do have sphagnum moss covering the top layer. Thanks for any help- your plants look amazing!

      wouldn't worry as some of mine also has small branches
