Mesmerizing to listen to. I love everything about this piece and performance--and the fluorescent blue striped socks are a visual bonus to show the masterful pedal work!
Dazzling interpretation. The energy behind this performance never flags and the counterpoint remains crystal-clear thanks to the technical competence of Mr Hinitt, the registration and an acoustic that never swallows the sound. The instrument is a priceless musical gem.
In my opinion it is one of the best performances of this fuge. It has an ideal balance between opus, performer, instrument, interpretation, space and last but not least sound.
A performance as brilliant as your socks. Good to know there are other organists who remove their shoes to play. I've been chastised for doing so on many an occasion. Fantastic, bright tone from an amazing organ.
I couldn't agree more. And where the foot-ware is concerned, I too believe that ought to be up to the organist, some some purist with a stick up their behind. :)
I love that you play in you socks! With age and circulatory issues, my feet have swollen to where I can't play with shoes anymore. Socks looks better than my bare feet!
I cannot imagine the feeling one gets from producing this music. I know I will say the ululatingly obvious, but all instruments make a sound thart is "near you" the player, except the organ that sounds as if the music comes from the heavens.
This is a fine clean and clear performance - thanks also to a building with not too resonant an acoustic. I have a feeling, though, that it is nevertheless a bit "relentless". Bach's music is capable of having some subtle phrasing and variation of registration (he must, surely, have had stop-pulling assistants) to provide colour contrast and life-giving breathing spaces. It doesn't have to be continuously 'legato'.
Hola David. Felicitaciones!
LOVE THIS. Perfect, PERFECT. just one word. And the "minor" final? PERFECT!!! That should have been the real final, MINOR. Please please please upload the Prelude too!!! PLEEEEASEE!!!!
@@colindunn7583 it’s questionable whether Bach himself intended for the fantasia and fugue to be associated with each other. They may have been composed entirely independent from each other.
Lovely playing and camera work! But you will seriously regret playing in your socks. I recked my metatarsals. Use shoes 👞 always or you will not be able to walk down stairs eventually.
In the year 6565, the Aliens arrive to sterilize the Earth so that it can be used for Gngsnrfff production. The human cry "Wait!, watch this video and you will see that we can accomplish amazing things!". The Aliens watch, and when it finishes they say - "You are correct and will be spared. Those socks ARE amazing"
What's the rush? At this speed with absolutely no detectable variation in the tempo of any note except at the end it sounds like a computer is playing it.
Well, I liked this until the final measures, when he played past the fermata, while ignoring the tierce de Picardie (both present in the urtext), and seemed just to run off the page. Odd that he played the other accidentals, but ignored the final one.

Bach's ability to improvise on themes, is second to none. He indeed is the greatest composer that has ever lived.
Came to see the socks, stayed to listen to the music!

Bonne job!

A beautiful fugue played by a master. What a lovely way to start the day!
got so many likes for socks for sure

just overwhelming, thx for sharing!!
Pieds nus à la Rhoda Scott ! Plaisant à écouter et à voir aussi.
Fabulous one of the best performances I have every witnessed.
I agree the socks alone make this worthwhile! Oh, and it's also utterly brilliant.
I love how clearly you can hear the bass line, mesmerizing!
True man has no shoes.
All the way back to my early childhood I have been utterly smitten by this particular piece, although I have always loved everything Bach.
Brilliant, absolutely brilliant playing! Perfect organ for this piece too. Soli Deo Gloria ☺
I know it is pretty off topic but do anybody know a good place to stream newly released series online?
@Jermaine Brixton lately I have been using Flixzone. Just google for it =)
Nice playing!
And cool socks ;-)
Stagger8ngly good!
Very nice, a dream of harmony and peace 🌺🎶...Bach
This sounds so good! Really good job to Mr. Hinitt.
Great socks! Oh, and a wonderful performance also. Thanks for this.
ESPECTACULAR, QUE GRAN INTERPRETACIÓN LA MEJOR DE TODAS LAS QUE VI, LA LIMPIEZA ES ABSOLUTA, EL SONIDO GENIAL, GRAN ORGANISTA MI NOTA ES UN DIEZ
I like that he's doing it in his socks. that makes me irrationally happy.
Yes, but he’s got a hole in toe !
......just kiddin’ !
@@jamesgibson2179 I have a running joke with the priest at the church where I play. A monthly sock allowance.

Exactly, whatever works for each person. I personally use shoes but that's just a matter of preference.
Beautiful... just beautiful. This piece is miracle of the world. Excellent performance. Feel so good. Thank you.
Sounds bloody awesome mate hinitt
I love it. So spectacular. Really good job.
Mhmmm 🌈🌈🌈😉
Brilliant playing and I love the socks. The Tempo is so invigorating!
Truly gorgeous. Absolutely fantastic.
I like the opening sequence. Nice job! I like organ music. What got me into organ music was Bach and church music as well.
. Your playing is Wonderful. Merci.
well, that was awesome.
You are a Star
I love that you play in you socks! With age and circulatory issues, my feet have swollen to where I can't play with shoes anymore. Socks looks better than my bare feet!
You need to come and play this on the Cavaille-Coll organ at St Ouen in Rouen. One of the finest instruments on the planet.
I cannot imagine the feeling one gets from producing this music. I know I will say the ululatingly obvious, but all instruments make a sound thart is "near you" the player, except the organ that sounds as if the music comes from the heavens.
Felicidades
I'm just here for the striped blue socks

Wow. Very well done!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally someone who adds the lower bass.
How erudite !

Beautiful masterpiece, beautifully played!
I have heard this and sometimes player muddy the fuge but not this guy no just pure clarity of sound.
Beautiful !
magnifico
Probably one of the best performances of this I've heard. Easily on par with Koopman.
...bach...you made my life...❤
I feel like I am in Heaven to spread infinity
My soul Ìs purified
I ALWAYS play in my socks. It's kinda weird, but I like feeling my way around the pedals that way. Makes it a little harder doing heel and toe though.
Nice socks!
Great sound. (even if played with magic iridescent socks)
British sewing machines are the best.
Bravissimo!

I agree. We need the preceding fantasia
@@colindunn7583 it’s questionable whether Bach himself intended for the fantasia and fugue to be associated with each other. They may have been composed entirely independent from each other.
So true. A fugue without its prelude is a lost soul...
I'm assuming David did the recording of this as well as he's an excellent audio engineer. :)
feet would slip off pedals without shoes,I was always told.
A thrilling performance,
Many thanks.
(Is the Tierce de Picardie on the final chord optional?)
how many days did it take for him to train

I have those socks........do not have that skill. Note that all that music happens inside of 51 notes on the manuals
I could no more pedal in shoes than play the keys in thick gloves. I am unable to understand
how people can pedal in shoes.
Conversely, when ever I try playing in socks, I find it painful experience, rather like walking on concrete without shoes.
Each to his own.

Hmmm.. Didn't work for me either.
EduardQualls, unfortunately, no urtext exists. Most organ compositions by Bach are known only through transcripts made by others.
Why does he end on G minor? Shouldn’t it be G major?
the final is major, not minor!
The score naturalises the Bb and the F is correctly sharpened as the leading note so defiinitely IS major.
