HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 4 фев 2025
- We change the spark plugs on our 1.4L Alfa Romeo Giulietta. It is a similar process on Fiat 500 and other cars using the 1.4L turbo MultiAir engine. We used NGK Laser Iridium Spark Plug - IKR9J8

Super helpful. I bought the NGKs yesterday, cost a small fortune! And am going to try this based on your video today. Thanks very much.
Thank you just bought a Alfa & not being a mechanic big help !
No problem. I’m learning as I go here too
Those have the FPT logo on them so they may be factory plugs or more like dealer fitted. By 30K it was still likely under warranty and being serviced probably.
Denso 💪
How long does the spark plug removel has to be. Mine is 23cm is that enough to change the spark plugs or is it to short
Thank you for the video, will do the same for my 1.4 tb ma 170hp engine 🙏🏽 Do you disconnect the negative line from battery before changing spark plugs?...or not necessary?
@@filipsmorozovs625 always a good idea to. Clean the turbo filter bolt while you are at it. It’s in my other video 😉
@@TheEddysGarage already changed spark plugs without disconnecting the battery:))) all fine tho)) previous plugs were really oily and brown, so happy that changed them)
Banjo bolt - yes, watched all your videos about giuliettas)))) for banjo bolt will find new aluminium washers - was advised on Alfa Romeo forums to put new aluminium washers after each cleaning of banjo, and then clean the bolt as per your video 🙏🏽
This is exactly what I’ve been needing, gonna change mine soon dreading so see how bad they are after 60k
Thanks. Be sure to like the video so it helps others looking for the same thing. Hopefully you find it easy to do
Which brand of ignition coil you recommend? FPT, BERU? For 1000 km I'm going to change spark plugs and ignition coils as well because they have a milage about 200.000 km.
Beru are always good OEM levels of quality
Hi thanks for your video. Do you know if NGK IKR9J8 work with the 1.4 140hp jeep compass as well?
This is a great video.
Do you have a video about PCV replacement in this engine you have? When didi it fail if so, what mileage? Thank you
I haven’t done the pcv sorry
what a video! thanks so much mate!
No problem. I’m glad it helped you out. Be sure to like the video so other people find it easily when the search for spark plug info
Hi, I see that you are using a fairly long magnetic spark plug wrench. Could you share the brand/model and size of it?
I got it from here on Amazon. amzn.to/4c4cH5O
Great video!!! Do you happen to know if the engine in the Giulietta is the same as in the Fiat 500L Trekking (1.4 MultiAir - USA version)? Thank you!
It would be. Check my video on the MultiAir filter and the turbo banjo bolt filter. It could save your engine!
Is this same mito qv?
Almost. Just double check your plug part numbers
Same plugs for all the 1.4 Multiair Mitos, except the 105BHP multiair, which is rare as hen's teeth!
I replaced those when my wife first got her jeep renegade, they are due again
@@sidneysanders5726 nice. Don’t forget the MultiAir filter when doing every other oil change. I have a video on it as well as a filter in the turbo oil feed line that should be cleaned
How many mm is the spark plug tool my friend 16mm or 21mm ??
16mm
I believ the torque for these is 17Nm
Did you notice any difference in how it ran after the plug change mate Good handy video cheers
Car ran much smoother. I thought they had a bit of a lumpy idle when I got the car but after new plugs it just showed how bad they were
@@TheEddysGarage thanks mate great work with the videos
