There's way better reasons to shit on the raws than that - mostly the price and the fact that the gimmick is "sounding fast".

@JGD sht I just jump the fence and sk8 from 7-9am (mines open at 10-8pm) then u can go back after if you like to stay up all night. They charge 20$ and need a mofo helmet and padding.

The kid on the bike was surprised anybody would skate at his SHITY SKATE PARK. There was a sign at park said CAUTION: "IF YOU SKATE HERE YOU ARE A SHITY SKATER".

My buddy grew up in Molala. Basically he told me that their used to be rails in the park, but he went to the city council got approved to remove them himself because the city wasn’t willing to use any of their money to fix the skate park. And he cut the rails out with a circular saw.

@@recession81 idk man I'm east coast here and we get rough shit all the time and its nothing. Just skate 56-58mm (even for street) and ride ceramics.
It's sad because you know at SOME point in history, this was an exciting new addition to the community. That's what I think of every time I see a shitty park. But after years of zero budget and maintenance, it just turns into a sad state of affairs.
I grew up in Villa Park, IL. Hopefully someday this town gets another shot, like we did.

One of the really sad things about this park is if you think about how much money they actually dropped on it to build it. If someone in charge would have spent just a little more time investigating on how to build a proper skatepark and gotten some input from actual skateboarders then they could have built an awesome one just half the size and for half the money.

I unfortunately have also made the mistake of stopping there on a road trip. Online reviews and pictures are misleading.

Rural skater as well? We had NOTHING but an empty fire station parking lot, and we still got harrassed there. I would love a park of any kind.
I used to live near here and my Dad would take me here as a kid cause it was the only park around. Knocked the wind out of myself for the first time at this park. Don't miss it..

There used to be a town/almost city built outdoor park 30 mins from my house in a place called Strathmore Alberta. Covered in snow and puddles for half the year it was made entirely out of sort of veneer covered wood...and not just any wood...mostly particle board lol...soggy as all hell, missing rotted out pieces, edges between wood that didnt line up with snaggle tooth gaps, etc and filled with undesirable kids and the local wino population just hanging out and not even riding.
Still we shredded that park like a piranhas on goldfish.

@@jamalydude there's some really incredible parks in Oregon. Plus it's a small state so you can get to a lot of them easily if you're on a skate trip. There's a ton of parks in California but it would be impossible to hit them all up in a short amount of time.

I've been thinking about trying some softer wheels. Been riding 99a to 101a to 103B for 20 years. Can't seem to find any in the 90 to 92 range in the sizes I ride. 53 to 54mm. I've been riding Bones, DialTone, Wayward, SML and Crupie's
Been thinking of doing 60's for transition and 55's for street.
@Roger Dodger You generally want to use hard wheels so you can slide the board a bit on the ground though. If you tried a bluntslide on a ledge with 84 durometer wheels your board would stick immediately
@Roger Dodger even with wax a bs tail is going to be scary on soft wheels. I say hard wheels loose trucks even in the crust.

My local skatepark is in a parking lot that was never treated it has 1 funbox, 1 grind rail, and 2 quarterpipes. 1 of the quarterpipes is broken and the ground is super rough
